Looks like we will be playing the chasing game already from the start of the season.
Yep, 6 point deficit from the off, and who could honestly back us in an away game next weekend.

That was a fecking grind. Confirms what I thought before though, we aren't finishing top 4 without some signings.

Arteta shitting on Ole. Spending nothing compared to him. Taking over a worse team. Doing it in half the time.

He's turned them round while our oaf is sat watching Netflix without a clue  his fanboys wanting millions upon millions for him to then start showing a pattern of play or some kind of ANYTHING.

The lack of creativity is shocking. Depending on a 32 and an 18 year told to create over a 50+ game season is asking for trouble.

There's always just a huge gap on the pitch in the number 10 position. No one in the team can create chances from that area apart from Ozil

What's the general opinion about Elneny among your fans ? Is he going to stay with you this season ? I have never really rated him that highly, by the way.

As a CM he's a pretty hard worker, he keeps the ball moving decently, and he's generally solid defensively. Nothing really stands out about him, he's the type of player who'll usually put in 6/10 or 7/10 performances. I think Arteta likes him for his work rate and attitude, but if we can find a buyer for him I'm pretty sure he'd be sold.

Got away with it tonight. We need midfielders who can turn/receive the ball at pace and break through opposition lines. Also need an enforcer who can sit infront and help the back four.

That was a fortunate win, Arsenal played poorly and West Ham battled throughout the game and really closed down well. Positives are Saka with two intelligent 'pre assists' and Eddie scoring. It does highlight how badly we need either Aouar or Partey though, we really lacked any kind of drive through the middle of the pitch tonight.

Yeah that's what I always thought about him. He'll do the simple passes and job in midfield, but the problem is you can't depend on him at all to be creative or create something with his passing. That's why I never really rated him that highly for our national team. These kind of players are usually good for me as squad options, and Elneny is a decent squad option but he comes for us and is supposed to be the main midfielder for the national team, that's when problems start.

Yeah, you'll never see him be creative. There were quite a few times against Fulham where players ahead of him would make runs but he'd play a safe sideways pass because he either didn't see their run or didn't have the ability to play the through ball.

Arteta looked and sounded like I felt. Relief, and lucky.

Like he said after the game, there’s a lot to learn from that game, hopefully the players take it on.

In the end though, an Arsenal side from previous seasons would have lost that game at the end rather than win it.

Honestly, the match showed why we need both. Pre-assists aside, I thought Saka had a pretty mediocre game and Willian was surprisingly terrible after his great performance last weekend. Depending on those two for creativity is too much of a stretch - we badly need a player like Aouar. And the match also underlined that Xhaka/Ceballos as a midfield pairing really lacks both athleticism and dynamism - we also badly need a player like Partey.

Close one tonight, hopefully 10 days will be enough to get Tierney back for Anfield. We missed him a lot and AMN should probably have been the one to replace him instead of Kolasinac.
No sign of creativity in our midfield per usual, please Arsenal get Aouar done !

Yep, just finding myself less and less arsed about the sport and it’s mostly down to this and VAR.

It’s just fundamentally wrong and antithetical to sport.
Yep. Just got home, was amused at the pub when I saw your result. Then I watch MOTD and it’s not a penalty and it’s a valid save by DDG. I know the rules are the rules but they are, are ar least feel, wrong, and it’s indeed just sucking the fun out of it. Don’t like it at all.

We started with 2 wins out of 2 last season so not getting excited here. We didn't play well but we grinded out a win and the goals were well worked. Given that our next 5 leagues games include Liverpool, Man City and Utd away plus Leicester I'm happy we didn't drop silly points today.

Need both Aouar and Partey. Hopefully the club bosses see the shite performance and aren't blinded by the victory.

So, how many Man United fans will.be supporting Liverpool today? Be honest!
None i guess. I want to see that stupid grin of the face of Klopp. Moreover, i feel nothing when Chelsea wins the league. I am sure if given the choice of Liverpool, City or Chelsea to any Utd fans they would always choose Chelsea.

To win the league? Sure.

Chelsea are not going to win the league though. We're most likely going to be in a scrap with you again for a top four spot.

You did look a bit disjointed but had that belief that you could nick a goal. Love that Arteta made progressive substitutions to win the match.
Saka is going to be some player.

Some, we have more chance catching Chelsea than Liverpool this season, Cheslea dropping points is most likely anyway they will take a few weeks to get up to speed with new players.

Support is a strong word though.

None, I hope.

The next seven days could put them on the ropes immediately in their title defence, if your lot and Arsenal do the business against their ropey defence. The thought of this is the only thing keeping me going after yesterday's horror show.

This sport is becoming unwatchable. I'm tuning over to the Icelandic lower division where at least there is no VAR.

The "tackle" on Greenwood a few months ago was disgusting. How he got away with it with VAR is a mystery.
Yeah, that's where my hate stems from. Hopefully when we play them next time around the whole team absolutely smashes him.
