Klarna are one of the easier lenders to be approved by - after all, they offer three monthly payments with NO credit check from a number of retailers. I used them for my Bike and it was the most fuss free credit service I’ve ever used. The app shows you what you’re paying, allows you to change cards and dates instantly and overpay if you want.
they are a huge lender in Sweden and will probably be THE way to pay in the U.K. before long.
Gonna use the 3 monthly payments when the 3070 graphics cards are readily available.:)
I think it was specific to this deal, but Coxy's experience seems different. A lot of people were reporting that they were rejecting if you hadn't been with them before so be interested to hear what the actual case is.

Maybe they are rejecting the people who they think will definitely pay on time as they don't make money off that (I'm only half joking here!)

That's completely different to what they've done here though.

And no, they aren't great at all. Sure if you don't look at them, then it seems fine, but their practices are proper trash and I'm sure break a number of laws in terms of control of your data.

And I'm only half agreeing.

I read Klarna are similar to Wonga. Start hiking up the interest for short term loans. Seems Wonga like. That’s what someone from resetera was describing it as.

Never dealt with wonga, but these lot are a proper makeshift outfit. I'm guessing because they are so easy to get approved for, people don't actually look at what they are signing up for.

Yeah.. I did a little work on one of the big retail groups who offer a similar service to what Klarna offer - interest free buy now, pay later or make 3 payments to total. There was no subtlety or suggestion that they didn't want to market to people who they thought would miss payments and up paying double / triple / quadruple the original cost. Rather than targeting people most interested in the product, it was people who are likely to take advantage of those schemes but were not great at paying them.

I'd like to think though that if this type of company had limited products, they wouldn't look to punish those with top repayment history - but maybe. It is how they make money afterall.

They're becomming the norm on sites like ASOS. They got valued at £/$10bn+ (cant remember currency) the other day and are killing it. They don't promote it as credit though - it's more about not paying until you actually get the product, and better if you are returning the item - stuff like that.

Wonga were dreadful, no idea how they were allowed to operate. They made money off the poor and vulnerable.

I'd still check with Experian what they actually did mate.
Thanks. Just signed up - looks like you have to pay money to see what the actual history etc is? It says my score is excellent - but can’t see what they did etc

Try Credit Karma, I think they are free to see recent checks. Fingers crossed you didn't get hit too hard by this mob.

Just like the lot doing it in America, it certainly seems the case. How they got the contracts is anyone's guess, but no doubt there was plenty of money changing hands along the line...

Goes to show, all our fanboy fun aside for a second, none of them are pro consumer. We always get fecked in one way or another

I’m not going to lie but Wonga saved my arse a couple of times back when I was younger and had an empty bank account near the end of every month.

Would literally just take out £50-£100 till payday and it got me out of trouble a couple of times.

Joined ‘MSE credit club’ which shows more. Yeah can’t see anything dodgy - maybe that means the order didn’t go through

I must admit I thought the checks were crap - didn’t ask me for many questions, just my wage and a couple of others. Maybe there was a glitch so it didn’t check properly (I’ve had the confirmation from Game so think it’s ok)

You were probably one of few. You could say the opposite for a lot of other people. Get a £100 loan and with that APR it turns in to a grand.
@VeevaVee @Bojan11 @Alock1 when they hear Series S has sold out after 11 hours

I don’t give a shit about Series S. I wish it didn’t even exist, so try again.

Be warned people. I've just checked my credit rating, and it's still up there as high as ever, but they've done 3 hard searches and 14 soft searches off of one application, they are dodgy as feck :nervous:
And Klarna seem to have fecked over a hell of a lot of people...

If if you got accepted with access, check with Experian at least guys. Also beware that you now have an account with them that you can't easily delete. This is a bigger farce than even the Nvidia shite going on
That's shocking.

They’ve sold out for now and I imagine coming upto Christmas and thanksgiving both will continue to sell.

I think the S will do extremely well in the long run.

Pretty sure everyone acknowledged it was a very appealing console at a very attractive price point?
The consensus was clearly picking one up 6 months - year or so. Anyway, don’t you have a PlayStation thread to talk about all the things happening with PlayStation...oh.

For some people yes, not sure what your point is.

All quiet on the PS front for now. Hoping the new OS is revealed in the next few weeks. Odd that we're fairly close to release now yet there's still so much we don't know about both consoles.

My point was it’s still sold out, despite most of its appeal being long term.

Don’t worry, you’ll get some nice folders.

They are a big time con. But it's not just them, the other territories seem to be having similar problems.

Makes you wonder why M$ are dealing with such people.
They are well thought of / highly considered, well, not considered cowboys at least. They hit a 10bn valuation only days ago, and the likes of ASOS, Next, H&M and a lot of other huge retailers work with them. Maybe they haven't really come under scrutiny whilst scaling. Hopefully this kicks something off.

Good point.

I don't think anything will come of it though. Money talks.

Yeah, numerous times earlier on the likes of Amazon, Ebay and Argos to name a few, the One x/s came up top of the listings. 100% people have got confused
It all could have been avoided if they had just named the Xbox 360 the Xbox 2. They've done so many right things over the past few years but their naming thing that started over a decade ago and still continues to this day baffles me.

At least there's an explanation why it took so long for the Series S to sell out

To be honest I was trying to pre order Series X, I was always getting One X because series x was sold out. Would be hilarious if someone forgot to check the name and ordered one X.

360 was fine. The problem was with "one". Such a terrible choice. After 360 they should have followed the Nintendo path of distinctive yet appropriate names (WiiU aside).

To this day, and to be fair I skipped the generation, I don't know what the one X is/was compared to just the normal one.

Series X/S is also terrible naming in my opinion. You need simplicity and distinctiveness above all else.

Should have done:

Xbox
Xbox 360
Xbox "name" + Xbox "name" T (for turbo)
Xbox "name2" + Xbox "name2" D (for digital)

Simple. Distinct. Clear.

Unless this was all a plan to shift old consoles in which case fair play.

Sold like hotcakes. Hope everyone who wanted one managed to get one in the 11 hours they were available for.
I’m actually surprised they sold/close to selling out. Series S doesn’t come across as a need be on release day.

You could get one for 11 hours? Hope everyone on the cafe that wanted one was able to grab it. I hope there is significant stock of both consoles after launch, many non-gamer parents who want one for a Christmas present wont think to try to preorder in September.

Im still salty that I slept in for 15 mins and missed PS5 on Amazon -_-

Feel like I'm missing a trick here with the jibes between Xbox and playstation. Is one considered a meme? I remember laughing at Billy no mates with PS3s when 360 was all the rage. Has it reversed now? Last console I got was a refurbished PS3 a few years back to play exclusives. Missed the last/current gen as had a beefy PC.
