They probably would have been better off having a 512GB version for around £100 for those who've got the Series S, so the total storage comes to the same as the X. Now, there's not really any point in buying the 1TB storage and a Series S when you can just get the X for a little bit more.

Will you really need one? You'll have around 800GB to play with so that should be more than enough to have the games you want to play at any one time, then you can just delete and download other games as and when you need?

If CoD is 300GB again it’ll soon fill up. Bet Cyberpunk is massive as well. I’m about 3/4 full on 1tb now. That’s just with cod, Witcher, gta, rocket league, then a few indie games off game pass

Don't the new machines use data better so games aren't going to be as big? They only need one instance of an object on them and can pull it instantly whenever it wants instead of having the same thing saved repeatedly at different points? Some bullshit like that I think.

They're supposed to, but Spider-Man w/ Miles Morales is 105gb and Demon's Souls is 66gb. I reckon if you got these two exclusives day one and factor in the storage already used when you get the machine... I reckon you have 600gb~ left right away. I have no idea if that is 'good' these days as I only game on Switch currently and still buy a lot of physical games.
I imagine Xbox stuff will be the same. Although I wouldn't be surprised if time goes on developers get used to it more and manage to lower file sizes.
Less than that because of the space the OS needs. So with a 825GB SSD space for actual games will probably be between 650/700GB

I was somewhat confused on here when a few brought it up, as even though it does account for a fair amount of space, it won't completely offset things like higher res textures for example. Seemed odd to me that would be pushed, but I guess it was as good an explanation for the small size drives as Sony/MS had.
Games won't drastically rise in size, but they won't drastically fall either. We will see it even out as the non-cross generation games start to come.

Yes, but from what I can gather there will be some confusion in regards to playing them with improvements thanks to the Xbox Series enhancements available.
Series X - You need to move them to the Series X SSD to be able to play them with enhancements (Better resolution, frame rate etc). If you play them direct from a HDD they will just play like regular 360/One/OG games? (This is my understanding, but it's possible it could work like the Xbox One X did and still give them the benefits).
Series S - Will just play like regular 360/One/OG games as they are regardless.
Either way, you can play them from a HDD or the physical disc on the Series X.
You’re correct - no enhancements from the HDD - has to be on the SSD or extension card

Wonder if there are some hard drives better suited than others.
Most would suggest using a drive with its own power supply, but I don't think they'll be a huge amount of difference between models.
