I have absolutely no sympathy or care about excuses to do with corona because literally every other club is coping. So whatever nonsense we are coming out with is a complete mute point. Also isn't that the point of having scouts to come up with ideas of other options.

We better have a Mbappe deal sealed up for next summer, the way things are going.
If Mbappe's gonna cost £100m+ transfer fee, up to £20m to his agent and family members and another £500-600K per week... I seriously doubt any team will sign him next summer.

Coping? Which team other than Chelsea has spent over 100m?
If we go for Sancho, we would comfortably be the second highest spenders in the league... ahead by about 50m.

And Chelsea can spend that because they had 150m lying around from the Hazard+Morata transfers + 1 year of transfer ban.

If we end the transfer window without having signed anyone, all the criticism would be justified..
Some of it is justified even now .. we are really shit at closing deals..

But its clear we are trying to get the price down and dragging it late hoping to get some discount.

The outrage can wait for 10 more days.

Seems like a Mitten stir quote. We were probably offered Rakitic or someone and he reckons that’s what fans would be “very, very happy” with.

Unnamed player, unnamed agent. He’s chatting shit.
Hi fella,

Andy Mitten has asked me to get in touch with you on the forum openly to make you the following offer

"Please tell 'Offside' that I'll meet him next week in Manchester. Or Leeds if he prefers since he's in Yorkshire and I plan to cover Leeds v Man City, subject to accreditation. And we can go through my phone and he can even speak to the agent himself. I'll do it just for him."

If you would like to take up this offer please PM me and I will give you the email address for you to get in contact with him and arrange to meet him.

Cheers

- not the first time someone on this forum has fallen foul of Andy. Quite right.

Listen lads, some of you lot are downright obsessed with transfers and bollocks tier systems. If you honestly believe Andy is making stuff up then you need to seriously reevaluate your life priorities.

 wish that was true.
It's 100% genuine. Andy is fed up with people questioning his integrity and rightly wants to defend himself from people claiming he's a liar. Fella works very hard at his job and people should not get to make potentially libelous claims without being called on them.

People say Margot Robbie is amazing in bed but I don’t think she’s very good in bed at all. In fact I don’t know even think she has a bed...

I have no sympathy for the greedy glazers, for a start this all comes down to there awful running of the club on the football side of things when we have wasted 40-45 million on a defensive right back who isn't even great in many areas defensively, 80 million on an average centre back that we could have got cheaper the year before and maybe would have prevented a Mourinho meltdown which cost the club millions to sack him, then there was the sanchez deal, then there is giving out new contracts to crocks and flops, what about giving Moyes a 6 year contract, the list goes on and on with bad recruitment player and manager wise, contracts, selling players, it's all been a huge joke of a mess with the sole blame pointed squarely at the same people that have taken over a billion out of the club.

My wit's end

Andy Mitten is just about as legit as they come. He talks about his history as a journalist in this video. You can tell he puts in the hard yards.

Why doesn’t he just name the player and agent then?

No disrespect to @Offside but I’m sure he’d tell us anyway when Andy tells him. Or get Andy to tell you and you tell us?

It’s Alaba anyway.

Would be a shrewd move if true, Bielsa could turn him into a worldbeater

Lately when you've come here you see a nice big 25 on the transfer tweets and you instantly think "shit something might've happened". But then you calm down and say to yourself "no, it's the usual 24 tweets about other teams and 1 about us haggling with Porto over the Telles fee".

Every damn time it's the same :boring:

This is the problem. We're comparing ourselves against Chelsea whilst ignoring that teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Juventus and Bayern haven't exactly been setting the transfer market on fire. There's time left to bring in a couple of big players. Maybe we're playing chicken to get the fees down, maybe we need to move wages on first, maybe its connected to quarterly losses meaning its better to do more business in October or maybe we're crap at transfers but I will save my fury until the window closes.

I know that if we only had enough money to bring in one player it was unlikely that we would only strengthen midfield where we're pretty well stacked so i expect to see a right winger come in the next couple of weeks.

Absolutely. Corona is simply highlighting how poorly we've been run/had funds drained away from us by our lecherous owners over the last 10+ years.

Well that's up to Andy not me. He named Coman when that was what he wanted to do, but then he got a load of abuse from ill-informed keyboard warriors even though it was Coman himself who told him he'd like to join United. You'd not blame him for not naming sources and players after that.

Anyway - I was just the messenger and so I will now bow out gracefully form this. If Offside want's to contact Andy then he can PM me for the email address.

I feel sick. Please not Leeds anyone but Leeds!

Watch them pick him up for £15m and the rest of the PL will laud such a shrewd signing. Absolutely fuming!
I know, Leeds of all fecking teams. The way they play as well, he'll be pefect.

However Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs are financially in worse positions than us yet have splashed the cash. Spurs in particular have a brand new stadium to pay for. I appreciate the club will lose revenue in the millions but we are not asking for Sancho or nothing. There are other players who can bolster the squad. That is my gripe with them.
Arsenal have spent around £32m for Gabriel, Mari and Runarsson, sold Martinez for £16m and for free Mkhitarian out and Willian in. Not really splashed the cash. Now they have to sell (Torreira, Sokratis, Guendouzi...) before they can buy (Auoar or Partey).

United have already a huge wage bill and bringing in more players you have to pay the transferfee but also your wage bill grows.

Can this be like that Spartacus movie? Can we all be ‘Offside’ for the day? I know I’m more than a little curious.....

Can you elaborate i don't know this player.
This league is improving massively over this window isnt it. Worrying really.
Koopmeiners is a terrific playmaker but he’s a also defensively solid too. He played mainly as a CM/DM but has also slotted in at CB as his positioning is excellent and he reads game

He has an absolute wand of a left foot and for my money was comfortably the best CM/DM in Eredivise and IMO one of the best the league has produced.

He won’t cost any more than £20m and for me he would have been the perfect Matic replacement or at very least an outstanding affordable option for us.

I love him as a player and am very conflicted if he goes to Leeds as he deserves to do well but just not there!

He’ll be lucky to last the season.
I think Koops is most definitely better and Klich is 30, so if he comes in and hits the ground running, it may be sooner than I think. We've discussed my slight reservations with him coming direct to the prem in another thread, so I won't open up old wounds!
