Level of hysteria on the Cafe is almost Goldbridgesque. Calm down. We just being pragmatic after years of being ripped off (Maguire - £80m, Fred - £52m, ...). Do you see Bayern 'panicking'? They targeted Leroy Sané, were quoted about £80m, but persevered and got him for £40.5m. Likewise Real Madrid took Ronaldo from us after trying a few times.
How’s it hysteria, we’ve had a full lockdown to get our business in order and we’re down to the last 5 days with still no sign of a LB, CB or forward. I would say it’s the complete opposite of hysteria, I’d say it’s very rational thinking.

Sancho, Dembele, Sarr, Perisic, Bale (before he re-joined Spurs)

Cavani, Jovic

Reguilon (before he joined Spurs), Telles, Maitland Niles,

The press haven't got a bloody clue have they? And what makes it even funnier is the one player we have actually signed this summer slipped right past the lot of them until the Ajax manager spoke out.

I'd like Maitland-Niles as a RB if the fee is decent.

With him and Shaw we'd finally have some good FB going forward, enough putting up with the crap of Shaw and AWB week and week out.
Confusing, post.

We’ve been hemming and hawing over Sancho for the last few months if a deal were to be done I think it should’ve been done by now. So at this point yes even Sancho would be a panic buy after the way we started the season..
ok. I thinks that is Bollocks but each to their own.

how someone who has been sought after all summer becomes a panic buy is beyond my level of intellect for definite.

You're everything that is wrong with the modern football fan.
If you say so. I called this performance before we even turned our noses up at him.

He could turn it around but just saying.

Also most modern football fan would want him because he’s supposed to be good going forward. I’m not one to flip flop to flavour of the month style players.

He has a habit of being the doom-monger that immediately precedes the light doesn't he
He is easily the most annoying journo I've seen in all my years following football. The way he asks questions in that annoying voice and with those silly pauses, really makes me wanna punch him. And as you said, its almost a meme now that whenever any transfer rumor will start to pick up, he will inevitably come out with a negative tweet. The weird thing is, whenever he tweets negatively about an impending transfer, more often than not, it ends up happening.

SPORT1 Journo.
Could that be the plan B to Telles?
I'm not convinced he's what we need. The unspoken belief is Brandon moving to the right and bringing a left footed full back.
Unless Ole wants 3 fullbacks per wing - Shaw, Brandon, Telles? and AWB, Laird, TFM, Niles?.
With TFM looking likely to leave in the next couple of windows.
I don't think there's much in that. May be Arsenal trying to rush somebody.

It’s because we pulled out of the transfer last month but after a few bad performances we have jumped back in. If that doesn’t scream panic I don’t know what does, intellectually speaking!

United fans must be desperate if they are happy with a £20m plus transfer of Maitland-Niles.
Its not just about being desperate, its the desperation for average players.

You can understand being desperate for quality but people will always try to justify how good any player linked to United is.

David Brooks, Josh King are some of the names people start to throw some random stats to prove they are good enough for United.

I work with a City fan, he absolutely hates Kyle Walker the player. I have heard people on here call him world class. Makes me laugh.

Barkley is a better player than the likes of Loftus-Cheek and Jorginho, Chelsea could regret this.

Another season of Grealish playing LW with everyone claiming his best English AM in the league.

In all seriousness it’d be interesting to see how Barkley and Grealish‘s performances measure up against each other. I wouldn’t be suprised to see Barkley out perform him if his given freedom in a 8/10 role.

Aston villa are putting together a decent team
It's a good chance for him to get his career back on track, injuries and silliness off the pitch have cost him and he's had a real stop start few years. It will be interesting to see if he can hit top form again now it looks like he'll get a good run of games, I have a feeling he'll never be as good as the potential he showed at Everton, good luck to him though he's a great player on his day.

Barkley out of nowhere. Honestly I think he's a mid-table player anyway but will be interesting if Chelsea keep RLC now.

It was 21 minutes into the game when you posted. On his debut.

We didn't turn our noses up at him , we didn't agree to a buy back clause (rightly so).
