James can not play very effectively full stop. He shouldn't even be at the club. I haven't seen Greenwood play lw very often so that's debatable. In any case I don't see the point in changing Rashford's position when he's gotten used to playing that role. Similarly why take Martial out of a position where he has performed his best football to date? Did the exact same thing when Sanchez came in. We moved him from the lw when he was in great form to the rw and he was terrible for the rest of the season. It's completely unnecessary and will probably end up hurting the team or at the very least hurting Martial's form. 2/3 of our front positions look extremely strong. It's clearly been the rw that has needed to be upgraded for a long time.
I posted because you remarked we have no-one to play on the left if Rashford got injured. I think we have very capable players to play on the left. This is why we have a squad.

Bayern already secured their number 1 target in Sané. CHO is obviously the next one on their list. That's exactly how the best run clubs operate.

Exactly.

Good signing if true provided we are not paying him anymore than 250k pw. We desperately need experience up front.

Martial can play left and Rashford right surely if/when needed.
Rashford has never played RW and simply assuming he can is just wrong. When we signed Sanchez we had Mourinho play Martial on the right to accommodate him and it didn’t work. This club needs to sign a fecking RW that’s actually plays that position. It’s as obvious as the glaring CM issue we had under Fergie for 5 years.

Cavani hasn't been crocked though? It's not remotely like Falcao who was coming off a terrible injury. Low-risk free agent signing which adds depth is fine. It should be in addition to Sancho and Telles but who knows if they get done.
Actually he did have quite an injury hit first half to season last year. And once he came back from injury he never looked the same as before. I thought he looked completely passed it when I saw him live. It was like a completely different team when they subbed him off for Icardi. There's a reason PSG let him go. I'm very skeptical about this transfer and having been banging the drum of him being passed it for a while. It certainly screams a Falcao type of deal to me unfortunately.

A couple of Serie A transfer Tweets:

Torino sign up a key player for a few more years, and they lose one of their better players to Athletic Club de Bilbao.

All I can hope for is he’s a good member of the dressing room and teaches Martial and Greenwood some things. In terms of having a back up striker Cavani is better than Ighalo.

Not disagreeing with you on the need to sign a right winger, 100% needed. I'm more suggesting how we might line up if Cavani is the only signing. As for Rashford, he is right footed, quick and skillful. Zero reason why he should not be able to play as well there as he can on the left. I recall an outrageous bit of skill from him from the right a couple of years back with an assist for Pogba, think it was against Bournemouth. He should be plenty capable of doing it.

Neither is good enough though, he’s not in shape to start games for 1-2 months straight if needs be

If they are paying him Sanchez wages Im never forgiving Ed. This isnt Zlatan , Cavini spent half a season injured at 33. What the hell is GOING ON?

Not saying we haven’t spent money. Difference is its almost entirely been spent to remain/get back in top 4. Also, seems you’re backing the owners for not spending the clubs own earned money on its core operations? Not gonna get dragged into a Glazer discussion here, but there really is no reason not to spend the money we generate towards creating the best team possible.
I'm not backing the owners, I'm just saying the notion that we haven't spent enough to compete with the best is wrong. We just haven't spent it right.

This is a guy who is always on Talksport talking about transfer, he is either as @Joseunited said stirring the pot, of Ed really has lost his marbles. Doubt anybody apart from the main players know.

I literally never said that. No idea why you think I was talking about our lw. Our weakness is pretty obviously rw and even with Cavani that hasn't been addressed.

Pirlo on Juve's transfer activity:

Transfers? Maybe we will do something, or not. If someone comes, we will only see him on Monday at the end of the transfer window.

I'm happy with the squad I have available, there's Paratici working on this front. And as long as it's open, anything can happen.

Khedira, de Sciglio, and Douglas Costa are available like everyone else. Let's see what happens.
