This club will get what it deserves this season. It will be a car crash just like this window.

The pressure on the club when we are bottom half of table and out of the CL by December will be immense. Ole will no doubt lose his job.

Fans trying to put on a brave face and be positive but if we're honest the last 48hrs has been one of the darkest periods in the club's recent history. Being walloped by a Europa League also ran club at home and now this quite frankly desperate and frantic shop for new players on deadline day.

Ed Woodward n The Glazers should be hung drawn and quartered on the Stretford End. Is this the 'staying calm and 'relaxed about the window' they let drip to the press ??? What an utter shambles.
It's absolutely disgusting to be quite honest. The levels of ineptitude are a joke

Dembele on a reasonably risk free loan with an option would make it an acceptable enough window, but Smalling needs to be immediately brought back into starting contention

Smalling will probably start alongside Maguire. He can't pass the ball, but, unlike the rest of our CBs, he's not bad at defending.

Get a grip. The blokes running are clowns, that's hardly news.

Amazing how transfer deadline day is always so busy. It’s like when I used to know for months when the uni exam would be but still only started getting serious the night before the exam and then practiced the whole night!

What did he say about other RW loan targets?
Went on to say we're unlikely to pursue Sarr after today as he couldn't be registered in CL.

Said Cavani/Telles are done and fine. Will be announced soon

Mentioned Traore and Pellestri as potential incomings too.

Didn't mention Sancho or Dembele

Why aren't we after Adama Traore? You put him in the same team as Cavani; a proper finisher and you'll score goals.

Agreed. You can have the best coach in.the world, if the set up.is not right, you won't get anywhere.

Cannot believe we leave things to last minute, year in year out. Moreover our structure is cumbersome.
At Spurs, Jose can talk to Levy and they take a decision whether right or wrong.
At Liverpool Klopp can liaise with their director of football.
At City, Pep asks for a player and one way or another he ll get it.
At Chelsea, Frank speaks to Marina and Roman and they move on
At us, Ole speaks to Woody, Woody consults scouting or transfer team whatever it s called. The scouting team take a look at their system and find the top ranked player in that position. Then he asks the Glazers. if the answer is yes, he ll ask judge to start negotiating.

No wonder it takes ages and then.we end up with panic buys.

Our 3rd choice keeper is on 80k a week and for now it looks like he's staying put. Hahahahaha

He's certainly better in terms of pure defending than Maguire is that's for sure.
he at least deserves a shot to partner with Maguire if we don't sell. Ole doesn't seem to rate him so we may not see that chance unless injuries happen.

My wit's end
Can anybody sum up what's happened today and what's looking likely to happen before the deadline? I've been working and been out of the loop.

The domestic deadline doesnt end today.. So the Romero to some club can happen till the 16th.

And if the Arsenal withdrawing the Torreira loan is true then its a real dick move... unless there was some agreement that Madrid would lower the Partey price, which is unlikely..
2 separate deals.. completely idiotic.

Isn't there some thing about players having to pay the release clause themselves and its more complicated than the buying club just paying it? That still a thing, because if it is, it might not be smooth sailing for Arsenal either.

Everyone is in uproar over our incomings but what the heck is happening with moving players on? It’s a total shambles.
With the way Everton are playing i don't think we should be strengthening them with options beyond Pickford.

Odd that he's not had many other takers though.
