I haven't seen much of him in action as dont follow other leagues, what is he like? Is he any good? Baseline compared to what we have now? What's his style of play like? Is he likely to get assists?

Hopefully that means Williams can be tried as right back where a lot of people would rather see him

Welcome Alex. Never watched him play but I can see his numbers from Portugal and hope he can somewhat repeat that here. My biggest hope is that he can be a very able competitor to Shaw who I like but we needed someone else and it would be great if Alex was that.

He's so good there's three threads announcing his signing.

Good luck for him here. Hopefully he makes the left flank his own and provides us with what we severely lack offensively there. Optimistic about him.

Glad we got him. I'm really surprised city didn't go after him. I think he'd be exactly the type of fullback they'd want.

Left back is not our biggest issue, but seems a sensible transfer. Unusually for us this week it doesn't even stink of desperation

I know people will moan, but he'll be out first choice LB in a few months. I expect a great attacking asset

he’s been on penalties and free kicks in Portugal. Stats are majorly padded by set pieces. He’s better than shaw going forward but shaw is a better defender. I’m not 100% sold on this but it’s a low price and could turn out to be smart business as long as one of them is always playing well.

If he’d have joined 3 weeks ago people would’ve been so excited, but understandably everyone (myself included) is just so negative right now  I think he’ll be a massive help attacking wise. Shaw’s attacking play is useless. He probably won’t be much worse, if at all, defensively too.

That’s why 3-5-2 with chippy tits at LCB makes sense.

Couldn't this be part of a plan of establishing 3-5-2 more regularly as our formation, with Shaw as LCB. He's probably more suited to that role anyway (his weekend antics notwithstanding)

Hope he can give Shaw a run for his money.

Any reports on wages?

Nice price this & if he can cross a ball then he's doing something I haven't seen from a full back since Denis Irwin days. Good luck lad.
