Skillful player. May take some time to get him adjusted to the league.

He must be very highly rated because there’s been a few tweets suggesting he’ll be put straight into the first team set up.
I imagine he will be... it's probably also likely he won't last too long in the first team either before being sent out on loan

Most excited about this one to be honest. The most low profile signing, can only be good

If he even takes the cup games to afford Greenwood some rest and a different option to Mata until January that would be perfect.

I have hopes for both him and that Traore lad.

There's not much point judging him until he gets a chance. He's going to cost about £7m so it's a relatively low risk transfer. He's widely considered to be one of the best talents in South America so he must have a little something about him.
But how can he only cost 7m if he's one of the best talents? I like the sound of value, but it also sounds like a strange price

Was the same with Dan James too.

Similar profile, to be fair from the hightlights. Seems more talented at dribbling but lower quality in the finishing department.

I am not convinced by the signing, to be honest, not sure he is better than Chong or how long it will be before Shoretire overtakes him (though he may end up being more of a 10).

He had a release clause that we activated.

Is the Uruguayan league any good?
I mean, it's all well and good being a bright prospect, but if there is a HUGE gulf in quality between the Uruguayan and EPL, then he's going struggle like crazy. Gotta love United's approach, buy and hope.

Wasn't forlan brought in straight from Uruguay? He struggled of course but he said that was also due to his sister's illness and culture shock then.

Doesn’t he have Copa Libertadores experience?

Argentina but yeah. Valverde went straight to Madrid from Penarol and it's worked out great for both parties.

Love this types of signings, but they are about medium term impact and not about impacting this seasons diabolical fixture list.

Of course, he will not get thrown into 1st team matches, underwhelm and end up on the scarp heap.

Hope the kid knows what he is entering. Especially if OGS gets sacked, and the new guy who comes in and doesn't fancy him, like Moyes did to Zaha or Mourinho with Depay or OGS with Dalot.

No, Forlan came after several (3 or 4 I think) seasons in Indepiendiente (Argentina). He actually didn't play in Peñarol first team until after coming back from Europe.

Valverde had a season in Castilla, and another on loan before getting in Real first team.

I am super excited of the prospect of an Uruguayan doing well in United, but I don't think we should destroy this guy with the pressure of too much expectations in the short term haha.
