We haven't purchased Dembélé for 60m but even if we did whether you can do it depends on how much money you actually have to pay today. For example there is a big difference between having to pay 120m cash today and 50m today plus 50 other millions depending on bonuses and over the next 36 months.
I understand that. It was widely reported that Dortmund would have accepted a 70+30+20M deal structured over 3 years. It was not going to be a lumpsum.

15m for telles too
Telles is a LB not a forward/RW so I didnt count him.

Traore is 18 million plus 9 million add ons.
You really think Dortmund would have rejected a 110M+10M add on offer if we had bid before their deadline?

Considering he does not want to leave is this really a deal worth pursuing especially if it is a permanent transfer? This just looks like another Sanchez or Di Maria waiting to happen.

No one knows what Dortmund would have accepted or not. No one knows how a deal would have been structured and what Dortmund demanded, papers didn't even know that Sancho extended his contract months ago.

He played 9 times last season, once this season. Is he even match fit?

Imagine signing Dembele without a medical.

He's probs got a cheesestring for a hamstring by now.

Let’s sign him for 60m without a medical what’s the worst that could happen

please don't bite that Ed. You are wasting 60m and actually giving Barca a chance to sign Sancho next year. Don't do this

One of his legs fall off when he leaves the cab that brought him to Carrington?

If Ole is seriously asking the board to buy him for 60m that's very very questionable indeed.
Perhaps he thinks the chances of getting Sancho next summer are slim. I expect Dortmund to ask something similar in terms of price.

Dembele is a real talent but that injury record worries me way too much to even get excited by this.

If we have 60 mil please use the money to buy someone like Diego Carlos instead of dembele. We have already bought two wingers.

Two that are nowhere near the first team. Dembele is if he’s fit.

Insane talented, but doesn’t seem to stay clear of all the injuries. Big risk. Could be a hell of a signing, could end in tears.

Well we’ve gone into a new season getting bummed 6-1 at home and one position that we needed to improve, we’ve not improved. We’re going to get fecked this season. Brace yourselves.

Honestly, I'd take it with open arms at this point.

There are obvious downsides to signing him - injuries, commitment - but big, big, big upside too if it all works out. It's the definition of a boom or bust signing...but at least there is boom potential, which a lot of our signings in recent years have never had.

Same reason I'm more excited about the Traore and Facundo signings than say Cavani. Cavani's upside has a heavy cap on it. Theirs don't.

I'm embracing my inner-muppet and jumping aboard the Dembele train.

I know all our focus is mostly on the Glazers and Woodie but sanctioning a permanent deal like that is kind of a win win for Ole given the predicament we're in. If he turns out being shrewd business - Ole is the one coming out looking the best probably - if he turns out shit then we ll probably all point our fingers to Woodie and co again for not signing him on loan instead.

If Dembele doesn't get injured then the price spent would be a bargain. It's a gamble, but so is ANY player you sign.
Apparently Ole wants us to buy Dembele and I agree with him.
Just sign him please

This is like those "Jones is quality when fit" posts. It's a pointless hypothetical.
