My theory is we were never really serious about Sancho, so waited until the last minute to secure Cavani as some sort of consolation to appease the fans. Woodward probably thinks he's an untamed genius.
I think we were serious about Sancho, but Woodward thought Dortmund would cave in on their price and deadline. He blew it.

You having a laugh

AC Milan are one of the better sides in Serie A mate. Not to mention still play in the Europa. It's not like he's playing in fecking Belarus.
AC Milan are not what they used to be. If they were title and CL challengers Zlatan wouldn't be there. So no.

Welcome Cavani! Just wish he came a few years earlier, he would easily have been a massive fan favorite here.

Now after 7 months out with training interrupted, with an already injury prone body? I don't think it's fair to expect much.

I was never a big fan of Cavani, but he reminds me of Mark Hughes in some ways and maybe we need a mean streak up front..

He definitely offers something different to our young strikers....I am hoping he has a good game against PSG because we are going to need it.

It's steeped in history at this club, it should be earned.
I mean Fergie gave the number 7 to Owen. Were you critical then?

Memphis got it without 'earning' it. Sanchez got it without 'earning' it. Heck, even Ronaldo got it without 'earning' it.

Fergie can do what he wants with the shirt. Since he has gone it should have been left alone until a player of the right stature came about. Just my opinion.

What about Larsson, Sheringham, Blanc? Everyone on the negative train today.
Eh we added those lads to a world class team with a world class manager so they were set up to do well.
Larson hardly stayed long did he?

Not got a problem with this on its own, as we've actually got some competition amongst the front three now which can only be a good thing. If it goes to shit, he's gone in June but if he can get anywhere close to his peak this will have been a shrewd but. Let's wait and see.

I think this is a good signing and I have no problem with it.
The problem is that we don't have enough quality in other areas and the fact we signed him on deadline day just shows our lack of planning.
This isn't Cavani's fault though and I look forward to seeing him play.

Fantastic signing, if we signed our main targets and he was brought in to augment them. But that didn’t happen did it.

Welcome Woodward retirement home - even after you retire, we will still extend your contract!

One of my current playing all time favourite players, chuffed to have him here tbh. Think he will be a success.

Fergie's head
“Manchester United is one of the greatest clubs in the world, so it is a real honour to be here. I’ve worked really hard during the time off and I feel eager to compete and represent this incredible club. I have played in front of some of the most passionate supporters in football during my career and I know that it will be the same in Manchester. I cannot wait to experience the Old Trafford atmosphere when it is safe for the fans to return.

“I look forward to continuing to write my little story inside the book of football and I know that’s why my focus has to remain the same as always - work, work, work. I have had a conversation with the manager and this has increased my desire to wear this beautiful shirt.”

Welcome Cavani!

I have the feeling he is going to be a good signing. He will give up the number 7 shirt for Sancho next summer, he did it with Neymar.

He is a hard working player, aggresive and powerful. Very different to what we currently have.

At his age the time off contact football the last few months might not be such a bad thing to recharge the body and let injuries fully clear up , seemingly he has kept himself in good shape. We will see in a few weeks.

Sancho and Cavni, yes! Sancho only, yes! Cavani only, nice to have but where is the winger we need now.
