Welcome Willy. See you in a few years time if you might make it into 1st team.

Bye.

Nice! We finally got a huge French centre back. Can’t wait to see what he’s like on the ball. What I dont get is why aren’t we trying to sign a left footed centre back prospect seeing as it’s so in vogue these days. A few left footed players for attacking positions might be an idea now too.

Exactly. We Bjorn Hardley have any left-footed centre backs.

Wow, that is a huge Willy
If he makes it to the first team, it will be a shitfest with these.

"Big Willy to the rescue" "Big Willy saved Lindelof arse there" "Big Willy's positioning was good" "Big willy did well to get out from tight space"

This is one of the few things that gives me some bit of hope for the future that our Academy and youth teams have some seriously talented players that potentially will make a big impact and eliminate the need for stupid transfer sagas.

Mind you it will be a few more years before it comes to pass (and thats assuming its handled correctly).

There is so much talent that we don't even need to handle it correctly - a few of those guys will break through regardless

Look at our central defenders: Tuanzebe, Mengi, Kambwala, Fish and Bernard.

Or our 3 wingers Elanga, Traore and Pellistri

Isn't it a great thing if we bring in top youth level coaches too so we can turn the talent in academy to top class ?

I think we can do with one or two continental coaches from Spain and Germany along with our existing British coaching staff.

thank goodness he’s a defender and not a no 10.

otherwise we would be playing with big willy in the hole.

It wasn't much fun against City a couple of days ago. A duller game than our first team play.
Plenty of time for the new signings to bed in and settle

He was about 5'11 when I watched him in a few games about 10 months ago. Seems to have shot up.

So realistically he could end up being 6ft6in + by the time he stops growing. Plus a year in the gym adds another 10kg of muscle?

How fast is he?

Could end up being the beast of all time?

Among all the players we have signed yesterday... he is the most promising.

I really don't know how quick he is because I never saw him get tested in a foot race. But what I did see was a 15 year old who looked exceptional on the ball, who could pass long/short very well. He looked about 5'11 at the time but also physically very strong and had a fantastic leap on him to attack the high ball which was notifceable.

If he is 6'3 now then he's shot up alot in 10 months.

Well in fairness - no Jurado, no Fernandes, no Hugill, no Fish, no Big Willy, no Hansen Aarøen, no Vitek, no Hannibal, no Shoretire and no Wellens

So we could have fielded a stronger side :)

I have a feeling that the academy operates with autonomy. Glazers and Ed give them a budget and they fire away. No dithering. If we could do what the youth team do but with 18-22 year olds we would be laughing.
There are people who insist that wouldnt work at first team level.. Of course it would if you had football people making the decisions.
