While I wouldn't want him to be extremely injured, in instances like Lamela's I'd personally enjoy a 'free hit' for Martial the next time they meet :)

I’m not going back to that old theory about how Keano’s vengeance death tackle created Haaland.....

It s more common than you think but rarely someone admits of doing it.

Some years ago, there was a video from a pro doing the rounds, explaining how to injure an opponent.
Probably mainly because you open yourself up to a lawsuit (like Keano).

Good to hear about his eye injury, concussion and lack of employment.

Not often you get to say that without feeling bad about it. feckwit.

This is proof of God’s existence for anyone who needs it. Eye injury and concussion to rule him out of that game, and now he’s out of a job. Justice. Good for him. I’m sure even a few Scousers could reply to this post saying they feel the same way about a former youth player. Hopefully this thug never finds a club ever again. I’d think much more differently if he said he was remorseful and apologised to Cleary.

Surely if this was the route you wanted to go down, the play would be to slip them an over the counter laxative or something a day before the game, not going in 2 footed during a training match.

" Brewitt is currently without a club after being released by Morecombe at the end of last season"

That's a shame.

He’s a coach for Liverpool’s academy so he isn’t really out of a job.

Hope no club signs him and that Cleary has a good Europa campaign with Dundalk

Bar a freak incident, good defenders know exactly how to hurt you without injuring you.

‘Injuring’ someone might be more common place, although I’d argue that it probably isn’t.

But, injuring your own teammate is definitely not more common place and is one of the shi***est things in the world to do.

He should be sacked.

Obviously a bit lacking in the brains department this guy.

Doing such a thing is stupid for starters, but admitting it, when you're still trying to be a pro (presumably) is an even dafter thing.

And even more ludicrous when you work for the club you've done such scummery at?!

How do you even purposely injure someone enough so they're only out a few weeks? You'd have to put some serious force in to make sure they're injured at all.

Googled the guy and I'm not really surprised. Has one of those faces.

As a side note, why do so many people from Liverpool all have that same face?

Should have just waited for an offside whistle and then jumped him with a baseball bat...
