Delighted with that win. Much needed, and will serve as a massive confidence boost. Onwards and upwards!

Great performance good result.

Given the hilarious knee jerk overreaction to the last game this result must mean we’re winning the league now.

Bit slow to get into it, but overall, aside from the OG we looked solid. Turned it on at the end, but we didn't look uncomfortable like we did against Brighton.

Phew, brilliant result but had to sweat for it. Our goals were brilliant - yes even the Maguire one, a goal scored directly from a corner has come to have a special significance for us at this point - but before that our lack of cutting edge and creativity in front of goal was evident. We kept blasting the ball into either the stands or Newcastle defenders.

Of course, when our technically gifted players can put together a one-touch counter-attacking move, we can be devastating, as shown again. Rashford deserved his goal: a really good centre-forward performance, some wayward shooting aside.

Rashford and Bruno were brilliant. Mata and van de Beek need more game time, they keep the ball really well, and really clever movement around the box.

Can't underestimate that save from De Gea at 1-1. Overall pretty good response. Hopefully it gives us a boost for a tough period coming up.

Bad start, but recovered and were by far the better team.

Love the link-up play between Bruno and Mata.

VDB clearly needs to be played more.

Mata my MotM.

Actually really enjoyed that performance, we played really well for the most of the game bar the disastrous start. Can’t think of one poor performance today, Rashford was excellent (down the middle!!), Bruno was great apart from the penalty miss, Mata was great, wonderful save from De Gea. Need to kick on from here now!

Our lads don’t really have it do they? Darlow has been screwed for about 10-15 minutes, so take a few shots you idiots! He wouldn’t even be able to dive properly.

It’s like they feel bad for doing it.
Also never challenged him on crosses. There were two high balls into the box that we let him have a free catch. Not saying to flatter the guy, but definitely put a body on him

Mata was my motm

Many positives tonight. Pogba did very well when he came on as did de Beek

Fred, McT, Mata and James showed we have depth in the squad

Over the moon for AWB

He had a cracking game as well as the goal

We were drawing with five minutes to go. The result is obviously great. I wasn't even expecting three points going into the game, but we have to be real and admit that Newcastle completely capitulated at the end.

Big performances from the fullbacks, particularly Shaw after his mistake on the first goal. Was a constant threat coming forward dribbling at pace and finding passes. Mata also put in a lovely corner for the first and was involved with Fernandes in most things we got going. We looked a lot better after Dan James came off and DVB went into the middle and Fernandes went to the left.

I would caution against getting too excited. I don’t think Newcastle are very good at all, and I don’t think Ole knows how best to set our team up. I’ve a dreadful, nagging feeling that we’re going to be exposed in the upcoming matches.

Great win, and response.

Absolutely dominated the game barring a brief patch at the beginning of 2nd half

Confidence booster for 2 key defenders, Harry and AWB

Mata, Rashford, Brilliant.

McT awesome. Man of the match.

Excellent 2nd half and great to win when essentially 0-1 handicapped. Unbelievable how people were moaning the result and performance throughout the entire match, somehow expecting perfection at any moment. We played good football tonight and should be estatic with the result.

Didn't watch the game but thank you United for not ruining my bday :)
Happy birthday! Enjoy a good post-win red wine à la SAF.

It felt good having so many creative midfielders in the team and no one being made to sit too deep.

It was great seeing VDB, Bruno, Pogba and Mata with the freedom to play how they want in different parts of the pitch whilst Mctomminay guarded the defence.

It gave me a little feeling of how the diamond would play with these types of players.

We need to stop Pogba playing too deep defensively in a double pivot and Bruno playing too forward - let them both play in midfield with freedom and VDB making the runs etc.

Great stuff, keep it up and we'll be in the top half of the table with a positive goal difference in no time!

Very good. Rashford as a striker makes us more lethal. Mata was excellent and I'm so pleased for Maguire and fantastic save by de Gea at 1-1.

Bruce teams usually suit us really well, no press and spaces between the lines, so it's hard to get too excited but a really good performance.

Controlled the game, deserved winners. 4-1 probably flattered us but we move.

Bruno poor but still so influential. Maguire very good. Mata MOTM by far, our best footballer technically.

Rashford’s goal was offside but they didn’t bother checking it

Hope the Mata haters take a break: he’s been MOTM every game he’s played.

Aaron Wan-Vardy with the power finish! Can’t say I was expecting that when he went through

Plus Shaw looking very positive on the ball, got forward at every opportunity. Are we finally getting up to match fitness?

Baffling, really, how some people can pick on McT after this game. Not flashy, but didn't put a foot wrong, really tidy match. Must have had 90%+ pass completion.

Good win but something still isn't right. I thought Newcastle ran out of stream a little and the quality of the bench proved too much for them....
