Our players can big themselves up for games like this, but regular games against less glamorous opposition we struggle and the players don’t look bothered.

I find tonight’s win more frustrating than anything.
jesus, you're even more annoying than in ww.

Probably more that we're good on the counter but shit against a packed defence.
Did you watch the game?

Time and time again we won the ball in their half due to pressing high up the pitch.
Time and time again we broke down their defense with intricate passing and great movement.

I get this argument when we struggle with lesser sides in the PL. Using it when we just had a brilliant, excellent performance away at PSG is just sad.

I'm more frustrated we didn't batter them by 4, but let's enjoy it. Feels good being back in the CL by winning against one of the top teams.

Youre not really addressing any of his points though?
didn’t we just come off the back of a 4-1 win against Newcastle?

we started the season slowly. And now we are getting better.

non thread, and just using it to slag off the team.

strange.

PSG are an average team who think they're better than they are. They come out to attack but aren't actually very good at it and leave loads of space when they lose the ball. We beat teams like that 9 times out of 10. Nothing to do with game raising.

I disagree with the "small time" monicker. United rises to the challenge when it comes to big clubs (most of the time) - what we have a problem with is grinding out tough, ugly wins with League opposition.

It did seem they were somewhat overconfident tonight, that they didn’t rate us that highly.

So would losing tonight have made us a big team?

Wouldn’t say packed defence, we are not top class when we play teams with a defensive setup.

PSG are gung ho and all over the place, with a lot of average players to boot, so a disaster waiting to happen when the front duo isn’t on. Florenzi, Diallo, Kurzawa, Herrera, Pereira, Gueye... none of them gets into our team, this isn’t the PSG we are used to over the last years. We are a team full of good players ourselves acting like we’re always underdog so to speak, which often leads to surprising results, but in the end we have lost too many points just not being good enough in the other games. And that is the root to our enormous challenges under the current manager, but what’s the point in bringing this up after a win?

We actually bossed them I thought. It wasn't an underdog performance. There is no way any United fan can be frustrated by this. Give your head a wobble.

How long has this geezer been a WUM on here?

I've barely been on the Caf for 5 years but he used to be a decent poster. Met him once, didnt seem mental.
You sure?

Lower premier league teams are actually very good and have attacking players that can make a difference.

Years before these teams simply prayed before facing the top 6. Now they can have a go or play to their strengths etc.

Frustrating or not, can’t we just shut up and enjoy the fecking moment?! The amount of people saying we were going to get a drubbing tonight makes this moment one to savour, not to piss on at the soonest opportunity.

They're like that every time they play, which is why they usually lose as soon as they face a half decent team.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
At some point it’s going to dawn on people we’re actually a good side and like many other good sides we were miles off fitness wise at the start of the season. Our form since January is that of a top side - it’s time people moved the feck on from the endless negativity of not signing Sancho et al and realise we do actually have quite a bit of strength in depth now. Once we went for PSG by bringing Pogba on we should have scored every time we went forward. We really aren’t that far away.

If this was a league game, I'd be up for a conversation about this. But, tonight, I'm not really having it. It's an away game in the Champions League against the runners-up from last year. Tactics, formation, personnel and mentality was perfect tonight. I don't think it makes you small-time to do better in games of this magnitude compared to your average league game against a mid-table/bottom half side.

Let's just enjoy the feck out of tonight. No point nitpicking.

It's a bit odd to make this thread after we beat a bottom half club and then the Champions League finalists. We have quality to beat both types of teams, just have to build consistency from here.

How in the wide, wide world of sports can you find that game frustrating? Do you not enjoy watching Utd play well and win?

Never picked up this level of disrespect, blaisé nature before, but you are right about that overconfidence always being part of their makeup.

We've just beaten last year's finalists on their own patch and you create this thread. This place is full of absolute chimps.

Nah, we can't cope with intensity and pressing. Smaller league sides are like dogs at this and we struggle big time.

We looked so good tonight because PSG weren't arsed when we were on the ball. We had so much space and time to do what we wanted. I'd bet that Fred turned on the ball in his own half and dribbled up the field more times tonight than he has in the last half dozen league games combined. PSG are lazy cnuts.
