Not seen a ball curve into the box like that since Beckam left us, this is very exciting to see!

Damn those corners! We've been deprived of good corners for ages.

Great all round debut, wanna see him start in the PL now.

I bet we will soon realise that it wasn't that Rashford and Martial were poor at scoring from crosses. But they never had good crosses in the first place to develop that instinct. It will take an year but as a result of Telles' corners, those two will become even more complete forwards.

He provides a new dimension to the team and our attack. This is crucial as our attack, though very good, did seem unidimensional with our front 3 being very similar. Now we seem to have added two more viable approaches: (1) Telles (and possibly Bruno) crosses into the box with Cavani and co attacking it, (2) filling up the midfield with creative maestros (Bruno, VDB, Pogba, Mata) and let them open up the teams.

When rashford first burst on the scene thats what he was all about. Movement in the box getting on the end of crosses.

He scored quite a few headers and tap ins at the start under lvg

Not had a fullback who can whip a ball in like that for a long time.

Can see this adding another dimension to our game against teams who defend deep. Telles to Cavani could be a great combo

It’s basically what Trent has made a career out of and he’s considered the best RB in the world.
Whereas Alphonso Davies is considered the best left back. Again, it’s a matter of preference.

Like most others are saying, very solid debut and his delivery from the left and corners was great.

Ball seemed to curve and even dip a bit. Can see if causing defenders all sorted of problems.

Oh, how we've missed the crossing ability of Beckham! Hopefully Telles can bring some of that back. Good Debut.

Telles can whip that ball in with spin on it. Can't wait to see him do it in Premiership.

Good start from the lad. Doesn't look as fast as Shaw but the end product is going to be so much better. I'm starting to think getting Cavani will end up being a good bit of business.

True. That kind of player for us is Ethan Laird so let’s hope he stays fit and breaks through.

Can't wait to see what he can do against teams that sit deep against us. No way will they be able to give him the sort of space they usually give our fullbacks!

Could be a solution for teams that sit deep. Play Cavani and let Telles whip those crosses in. Like Fellaini tactic but more sophisticated.

So who is a better crosser between him TAA?
Let's calm down a bit shall we. I know you're on board the hyper train but Trent is the best crosser in the league. Honestly, it's like watching Beckham at right back most weekends. I don't think Telles is near that level.

Seeing the late curve on his corners for the first time was a weird experience I must say.

So refreshing to watch him put the ball in the box, either from open play or on corners. We looked dangerous on every corner last night because he was putting it straight onto Mctominay's head. Just Imagine when that's the Captain.

Just having someone who could whip in a decent ball was all I wanted from him,not bothered if he isn't as good as Reguilon or Trent overall.

Everyone is saying Telles vs TAA but the real question is Reece James vs TAA

It'll be interesting to see how he does in a 4 because yesterday he had pretty much a free role.

Could even be an option in games on the left wing if we need to switch things up.

Assuming we move back to a back four, do we think Telles will be first choice ahead of Shaw?
Id assume itd be an even split of rotation and whoever is more fit/more suited to the match and whoever the others are. Telles would be much better suited to the smaller teams where we want the creativity, or would be fine in bigger games but with a Fred/McTominay combo in midfield. Shaw better suited to better opponent wingers/providing more stability if we put more creativity in midfield with Pogba. Or just a 3-5-2 best of both worlds.

Remember under SAF we had so many elements to our game? Set piece goals, wide play, pace, creativity, top attackers etc. For so long we've been one dimensional now.

But with the signing of Cavani and Telles, I feel like that has changed. We have creativity in spades, with Bruno, Mata and Pogba. Goals as well with the front three, and now we have that set piece threat with Telles, and the heading ability of Maguire and Cavani.

McTominay looked favourite for every corner last night too. Could he develop his game to incorporate deep runs into the box like Fletcher used to do, and give us more of a goal threat from midfield?

Telles delivery looks sick, and finally we have players willing to attack the ball. Remember when Mouriho was here, our right wing was non existent, basically teams had to double up down their right and we were devoid of any ideas. Feel like we have more strings to our bow now.
