You all seeing his twitter? Even though the Government declined his initiative he's managed to get a lot of businesses to stand with him. He's retweeting all those that offer free meals. This guy is incredible.

Yeah it’s all over the news, not backing him is backfiring big time on the government. Rightly so.

That’s true. I just find it infuriating that they can force their disgraceful opinions on others.

Probably never lifted a finger to help somebody other than themselves and try to shoot down young Marcus for all the good he’s doing, he’s doing more good than the politicians that we vote for.
Without a doubt. Like I said in the other thread, I am very glad that every business that is partaking in this are making it clear that they have to do so because the government refuses to help.

I just signed the petition, everyone who agrees should sign it.
I would, if I were a British resident. What Marcus is doing is absolutely fantastic, actually. Too bad there are no footballers like him in other countries (whereas similar problem exists almost everywhere)

Over 600k (six hundred thousand!!!) people signed his petition. It’s incredible really

I signed it but I always wonder about these online petitions, are they effective? Seems like they're useless and ineffective for the most part.

Anyone know of a petition that led to something... happening?

This is much more than football. I will never slate him again. He can miss a sitter and we lose but I will not say a bad word about him. Life is more important than a game of football. What he ha done and is doing is beyond and above. He should get a knighthood but the spivs won't give it to him.
I really hope that we we play away the away fans would give him a hand too.

Not sure, but Rashy is relentless, him having a petition signed by millions will be a nice stick for him to help beat the government with.

Of all the things the government do support, we can’t have kids going hungry when their parents have been forced to stay at home, I hope the government have real egg on their faces for this.

He has made it and he’s got enough money, he didn’t need to campaign for child poverty and free meals and it’s made his life harder.

But he’s doing it and he isn’t stopping, it’s hard not to get emotional when you read his twitter line.

What I admire most is he’s keeping his cool and not getting into senseless debate. Just action.

Virtue signalling is what the CONSERVATIVES are saying about him. Tactical whips employing discrediting tactics.

If displaying your virtues for everyone to see consequently feeds children then everyone should do it.

There are needs and wants in society and the government should arguably deliver those needs especially to children however the incredible monetary and emotional detatchment between the better off and the rest has never been so evident in parliament.

Keep going Rashy. The politicians are the only true Virtue signallers in society however they have mostly fake virtues.

I really wish there were fans in the stadiums at the minute, because this lad deserves the ovations I’m sure he would have got from stadiums up and down the country, even Anfield, top lad.

Yes, and the English government and the FA can whistle. Let's get our good club out of the EPL and into an elite league we dont need their crappy problems and shut opponents. We dont need Boris' blunders ruining the chances of staying afloat.

So proud of having such a person and player playing for our club. He'll be our club's icon for years to come.

Me too. He’s already my favourite player in my lifetime. Just love him. I loved him before the campaign tbh, always thought he was an exciting talent and had a bit of Ronaldo in him, especially how he struck the ball.

He has been one of my favorite footballers before this year, I always liked his energy and raw abilities and his down-to-earth behavior. What he did in 2020 off the pitch and now starting to turn into the ice-cold, defense terrorizing beast on the pitch is warming my heart. I just hope he stays fit.

6 goals and 2 assists in 567 minutes across the PL and CL.

A goal contribution every 70 minutes this season!

How increadibly much sharper he looks now than a month ago! He got space against Leipzig, but his movement and finishing yesterday was like looking at a cheetah with the tail of a scorpion.

Are you nearly calling Rashford a manticore?

I agree though, he looked so sharp. The rest Ole has been able to give him and Bruno recently will pay dividends for us.

Watching Marcus in this form is something special, magical even. He looks like he did before the injury, and of all the positives we can point out, that’s the biggest for me. He’s scaring defenders, and it’s like they’re not even there  The second and third were special goals imo. He almost managed to dribble past their entire defence before Martial’s goal, and for the third time in as many games off the top of my head.

He's a legend in every sense of the word. Most of us, myself included sit on our arses and donate a few bob to help. He wages war. The tories and right wing media will try to take him out, but he's getting amazing grassroots support.

Wouldn't bet against him as prime minister. He has limitless drive.

Will be the first Man Utd player to get cheered by the Kop and every other hated rival after this is all over.

We really really need him to perform to his highest level today. Think he’s been poor in the league games so far I really hope he can deliver today

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
Apparently Boris called him after the match yesterday to tell him that the government was adding new funding.
The prime minister phoned the Man Utd striker on Saturday to tell him of the new plans for £396m of support.
Rashford said it would improve the lives of nearly 1.7 million children.
The significant climbdown by the government comes after it had argued Universal Credit was enough.
The commitment will also provide meals over the Easter and summer holidays and extend an existing programme which provides activities and food in school holidays.
