Villarreal win, I hope they can push for top 4 this season.

The league is open this year, Atletico and Sevilla could muster up a good challenge. Still expect Real Madrid to win the league though
They've got a really good squad now.

Thought over last few years they've lacked a decent striker but Gerardo Moreno actually scored a great amount last season and Paco Alcacer is fantastic poacher and was excellent pick up mid season. Carlos Bacca still there aswell.

Edit: Forgot to say it's a real shame Cazorla didn't decide to stick around 1 more year with that forward line.

Asenjo and Rulli are two good keepers, imagine Rulli will get europa games.

Lots of options in CBs with the highly rated Pau Torres, Raul Albiol and also Foyth who they got from Spurs.

Midfield pretty good with them signing Cocquelin and Parejo from Valencia and Samuel Chukwueze is one of my favourite young players to watch in european football, very exciting winger. Also got Kubo from Real Madrid who's highly rated.

I think they can push Sevilla and finish top 4 and also do very well in europa. Certainly got a squad that can compete strongly in more than one competition. For all Emery's flaws it was a smart move to come back to this sort of team where fans won't be demanding trophies and top 4 is overachievement so he can rebuild his reputation a bit.

Not a single word about De Jong stinking up the place week in week out. All that hype from 2 collective Ajax team performances back then.

Reminds me of my school days. When my teacher figured out in 7th grade that I could program in Java I was branded as the "computer expert" for the rest of my school career who was called upon to fix the computer whenever the projector did not work in class, even 5 years later.

Nothing midfielder. No vision, slow decision making, no throughballs, no long balls, defensively unable to play single pivot. Same level as Arthur, good at keeping the ball under pressure without being able to do anything with it. That's about it.

He was absolutely sublime in that match.

Valencia are getting outplayed by Elche. 0:2 after 45 minutes. Valencia really need to turn this around or they'll get dragged into the relegation battle. Their opening schedule was fairly easy but they have to play against Getafe, Real, Atletico, Barca, Bilbao and Sevilla in their next 8 games.

Nacho at RB? Weak point right there for Barca front 3 to drift towards left. Madrid 11 looks fairly solid aside from that so should have enough about them to grind out a draw like last season.

Is it harsh to say the quality of both sides on paper is the poorest it’s been in over 10 years?

Koeman has some big ass balls, doesn't he? Starting with two 17 year old's in el clasico.
Fati's been a regular in their squad/side for over 12 months now so don't think that selection is that surprising and his pace will be needed today.

Don't know a huge amount about Pedri but yeah only 17 and played already 36 games for Las Palmas last season. Interesting Koeman has put him ahead of Puig in midfield pecking order.

What's up with Pjanic not starting so far?

Missed the goal, what's up with the camera angle?

This is like playing Fifa behind the goal.

Edit: Just seen it, very well worked. Benzema dropping deep and hitting nice throughball for Valverde who finished well.

Has anyone kept count on Messi's preassists this season?

on paper..knowing where some of the players are in terms of their careers: This is one of the worst Classicos that I can ever remember. What will happen to La Liga once Messi leaves at the end of season? Beg Kylian to join la liga?

Will be a tough game. Real is a bit under pressure, regarding the fact if it loses today it is the 3rd match without a win.

world-class hold-up play from Benzema surrounded by about 8 players
