Just watched a mini-match of Leeds v Villa and decided he needs a new thread.

For a guy who was derided in the Championship for a shit finisher, he's doing an admirable impersonation of someone who can score at will.

Second and third goals of that hattrick were worldies.

50-50 who's more likely to win the Ballon D'Or out of him and Messi at this stage.

Even bang average players have a day of magic in their career. Don't think he'll replicate yesterday's performance again this season.

Always thought his ceiling was being the best striker in the Championship. Clearly though, when Bielsa gets his hands on you, you become better than that.

He doesn’t have to. The way he’s finished and held it up this season, if he carries on, Bielsa and Leeds fans will be delighted.

Most Leeds fans still see him as a weak link in the team and would happily take an upgrade. He scores goals but misses a lot of chances. Not sure whether they're being harsh on him and he does well to get those chances in the first place but they're much more likely to criticise than praise him almost every week.

He earned Biesla's trust and that's all that matters. Biesla must see something in him that fits his system. Bamford has been doing great for the team so far so credit where it is due. He has 7 EPL goals so far which is awesome.

I think he'll turn out to be better than Junior Hoilett.

Even today Bielsa said that he plays for the team and sacrifices a lot. So he must be doing the job Bielsa wants him to do.

I would say that he is quite intelligent and follows instructions to a tee, and that Bielsa likes that. He enables the manager to play the system he wants and all that was really missing were the goals.

If he can get to 20 this season, that would be absolutely quality for a newly promoted side and may well send him to the Euros.

Haven't watched a game of his yet, but his early season hauls remind me a bit of Pukki's purple patch in 2019/20.

Spot on. He is quite valuable for Bielsa as the spearhead of their attack, but he isn't a clinical finisher. This is unfortunate, since a lot of their attacks currently end up setting him for a chance. He has scored 6 goals so far, and yet has missed a lot of crucial chances when they've dropped points.

He is quality in a lot of areas, if he can show himself to be a consistent goal scorer, I'd think he would start attracting a lot of interest from the top clubs.

Always liked him. I am happy for him that he is scoring lots of goals in the PL.

Oh you bet you I just bumped my Bamford thread after he scored.

And just FYI, I'll probably do it again next time he scores!

Should stop pointing to where he wants the ball played. He’s clearly trying to get an advantage

Bielsa's loyalty is one of his weak points. As well as having no plan B. And being slightly insane.

It's a perfect case of compatible system and good coaching making a player better than his actual quality is.

Also good discipline, work rate and cooperation with coaches, a good trust relationship amplifying morale and therefore performances.

Then, the confidence gained from consistent playing making the player perform even better...
