Chilwell is 5.7M, he’s one of the most owned defenders for a reason.
You have bad team structure if he’s being benched. If anything I could understand BamFord being benched because you could come up with 11 players better than him. But nobody brings in Chilwell for clean sheets. 5.7M is steep in a season where clean sheets are harder than ever.
I am pretty happy with the rest of my defenders. I guess Chilwell would be the one to go if I wanted to reduce defensive cost.
We almost always scores though so don't think it was bad to bench him over say Robertson who failed just cause it did happen.
Having options is not a bad thing even if you could get bad luck at times.
If I wasn't a United supporter I might have played him though just cause we have been conceding goals though and he could always get assists.

and that’s what I’m saying. Robbo and Trent are the most owner defenders because of attacking returns. Chilwell is the same way. I’d be curious who the other three defenders. Having said all that, we’ve all left points on the bench at one time or another

Saiss and Lamptey then Justin second place on the bench. I guess the faith in Brighton might not be justified, but Lamptey look really good going forward.

lamptey is great for his price point.
Hoping for something this week when I finally start him. Going to be tricky calls between Jusin, Saiss and Lamptey in the future.
Although if Justin is dropped I may need to replace him with another cheap one.

I think you need at least one fodder defender this year. Fixtures don’t matter all that much and you will never go with 5 at the time with scarce clean sheets. I got Digne, Chilwell and Robertson who will always start regardless of fixtures and Coady who I intend to put in against weaker teams at home. Then Johnson who is just a £4.0m fodder that will never play but should not drop in price.

Salah not turning up has helped my mates to catch up with me after the Bamford hatrick. So much for going top of the mini-league.

I knew I should have captained Bruno. Missed out on that damn extra point!

On another day Salah is not offside and does not hit the post and you're talking 30 points.

Sucks.

wouldn’t have changed as much as you would think since 80% of fpl players (give or take) captained him

The good thing about Salah missing is majority captained him.

Now we can only hope Kane not feck-up our captain selection of him.

:DIt's always nerve-wrecking if your captain play the last game in any GW.

no, if you’re benching Chilwell then you’ve already spent too much money on your defense. You bring Chilwell for his attacking returns as nobody brings in chelsea for clean sheets. You don’t bench a a 6m defender.
What about a guy i bought at 5.5?

you’re spending too much money on defense but I wouldn’t know that without seeing your team
I'm really not.
I just for a rare game rested him in what was very likely a blank in preference to three home defenders with great fixtures. 3 of my defenders are 4.1-4.5, midfield and attack are power packed.

That he got a clean sheet, which you say yourself isn't what he's there for is just classic fantasy footy sod's law. With TAA blanking at home to dreadful Sheff Utd!

What's the current average score for the week? Can't access the site right now. I imagine only those that have Zaha and multiple Leeds players are looking at a big score for now.

Poor GW. Not sure what to do with Mitro - he and Fulham look absolute garbage but WBA at home next...
Same. He’s so out of place in that team, they refuse to put any crosses in for him. It depends who you’re going to put in for him. If it’s someone similarly priced then Bamford is likely to go up soon. Watkins is a good shout with the fixtures coming.

It's been a horrible past two gameweeks for me. Had - 20 points last gameweek and swapped out Salah (Captain) and Werner (Vice-Captain) who scored and for this gameweek, I swapped them in and they had blanks. Thinking of using my wildcard now as I just want to refresh the squad but thinking it's still too early.

Average is 19.
Exactly where I am with Digne, James, Son, Maupay and DCL still to play. Should end up around 40 I guess.

Next week looks superb on paper but it never seems to come out this way. Running:

Martinez
Digne Robertson Chilwell Coady
Grealish Rodriguez Fernandes Salah Son
DCL

Bench: Maupay, Brewster

I have to be patient with this I guess. Others are racking up points on Bamford and Zaha but long term my team should have quality (and value) to edge it out. No panic moves and I should be fine... or at least I keep telling myself that. My only doubt is whether I should not take Zaha in for Grealish but over full season they should be similar.

I have 25 points thus far this gameweek with Calvert Lewin, Ryan, Willian, Lacazette, Saiss, Aurier, Reguilon and Son still to play.

Still got my WC so will probably do a full rescrub of options soon - most likely involving Kane, Ings/Jimmy (someone in that ilk) and Brewster. Annoyingly I'd always planned for Antonio but he's been brought off early in the last two and it's hard not to worry given his injury record...

Ok so Ive James on the bench due to not realising he could still play and I put Brewster in for him. Not great. I still have DCL and Digne but I’m feeling like this gw is going to be a wash out. Got unlucky with Grealish and Salah. I tried to be cute and have saiss and semedo in defense v Newcastle at home. Hopefully it pays off!

Good, James start.

Seriously after the "Son injured" bs last time by Mourinho, wasting my huge pts after putting my Son on the bench :( I learned to just put the "players not available" on the line-up, if they really are not playing, the game will automatically subbed them out anyway.

415000 transferred him out.
That is silly. It was always going to be one game injury, and his value went from £7.5 to £8.0 so a lot of people would be losing quite a bit of value.

Still ill

Well I don't know. It's almost as if managers don't care about Fantasy football.
