Penalty for Liverpool a few minutes before it should have been 1-1. 2 goals from 2 shots on target. Such a lucky side.

Gladbach have been so wasteful on the counter since Plea went off for Embolo.

If you reason like that, then it should've been 2-0 and game over a few minutes before it should've even been 1-1.

My God that was some sloppy passing at the end for Gladbach. Strange considering how crisp they were passing at times during the game.

Gladbach should have scored the third goal about 5 different times on the counter

Played a decent role in the Barcelona comeback too. Though I have to say Minamino is pretty poor, doesn't look like a top half player to me
Yeah he has the touches and brain but the physicality just isn’t there and at this level it’s extremely difficult.

Shaq contributes in the final third and we need that.

Gladbach wasted so many good opportunities to break after their second goal, such sloppy defending from Real in transition. Very lucky to escape with a point, only player that impressed was probably Valverde

After passing like masters all night, Gladbach exhibited nativity and lack of self belief in the final minutes. Same happened vs Inter last week.

perhaps they will learn or perhaps this is their ceiling.

It's no surprise Gladbach keep 'bottling' these late leads. Players are tiring and they neither have the depth to kill the game for good with a super sub, nor are they experienced enough at this stage to just calmly play it over the line.

If the game is close and there's a ball lofted into the box, you just know Ramos will win it.

Unreal mentality he has.

Marseille's so laughably bad. Defend deep and still concede three goals. Ugh.
My thought as well. Commentators cooing as usual how silky smooth City are, and they've been a class apart, but Marseilles made it so easy for them. Is this the best Ligue 1 has to offer (after PSG, Lille and, er, Rennes)? With a 5-3-2 formation and still concede brainfart goals? At home?

Can't see them going much further on this form.

Ajax has learned nothing from the semi against Tottenham. Let's have 8 men in their box with a 2-0 lead. Ah dang, 2 counters and it's 2-2.

Incredible bottle job there by MGB. The amount of times they had a 3v2 or 3v1 and just couldn't miss a sitter of a final pass was amazing. They deserve to drop points.

Interesting to see Strootman as an unused sub. Remember back in the Moyes season when he was the "must-sign" player for us that never happened.
Doesn't he have a medical file the size of a phone book?

Yea. It's a lesson for that young team. Klopp's Dortmund had a similar phase in their first seasons in Europe where they played well but lack of experience and silly mistakes meant they couldn't get wins. Last season as well I remember they conceded a lead late and got knocked out of the group states if the EL.

People forget that for as good they were, they were knocked out of Europe's group stages (once Europa and next UCL) in both seasons they won the BL title.

In both seasons though you could see Dortmund were the better team in many of those matches abs deserved more luck. Hopefully we will see the Gladbach team develop similarly under Rose.

Madrid were terrible, tactically and creatively. They only won because they have much better players, which is because they are very rich.
We didn't win. Gladbach literally crossed their own half twice in the first 55 minutes, the first thanks to a bad pass by Kroos in midfield...and scored both times

Yes they had chances after that, of course. We also hit the bar, missed 3 sitters of our own, and generally dominated the game aside from 10 minutes after the 2-0

Come the feck on

Damn. Feel very sorry for Gladbach. Madrid don’t deserve the point
No disrespect towards you but since it was 2-0 to Gladbach at 85 minutes, and they couldn't hold with so little time remaining, then Gladbach got what they deserved.

They simply bottled it.

Let's be honest, Liverpool against sides like that at home should be producing at least 10 shots on target and have the game won by half time.

I can still feel sympathy for them? They have much less quality players than Madrid.

Feck me how is benzema still around ? I remember our transfer forum going into overdrive at the prospect of signing him back in the days of fergie.

78% completion is a masterclass in passing these days?
