He's a human duracel battery, the passing will always be hit and miss but his winning of the ball and hustling is really helping the team.

My main issue with him is he tries to make passes he's not capable of too often and loses the ball too often. Feel he has to keep it simpler at times and not try to much. He's an engine and gets about, so adds value pressing and defensively.

he needs someone mobile to play one twos with who also has a world class pass in his locker. It’s not matic or McT

His reading of the game is world class. Was absolutely everywhere once again making brilliant interceptions and tackles.

He is one of our most important players right now, really like the balance he gives to our midfield especially when paired with Matic.

Never stops running and hustling the opponents, weird thing is for amount of ground he covers during the game you never see him out of his breath by the end of it.

Passing is not what we want from him in the first instant. He is doing his job. When he is playing well we are a much better team. Fred needs to play to get into his groove. He should play against Arsenal too. He was to me the MOTM if not for the Rashford hattrick.

Almost reaching Ander levels and getting far more praise
Ander rarely won the ball this high up the pitch though that’s the difference. He used to win the ball infront of defence but Fred wins it high and we immediately get a scoring chance.

If he can just tidy up his passing he will be so so good.

Yep. I genuinely think he is the fittest player I have ever seen, at least for United anyway and I would probably include Keano and Park. He is just absaloutely everywhere.

2 assists and 2 pre assists tonight, not bad for someone who cant pass.

If it wasn’t for those possession brain farts, he’d be one of the best players in the world in his position.

He's a clear upgrade on Herrera and always has been. He competes for the ball extremely well, covers a lot of ground, but what I really like about him is he tries to get the ball moving immediately. It's not always a pass up the pitch, but it's one or two touches. Move. He's got good tempo when passing. Some of his passing can be a little too loose, but he tries to recover the ball all the time. He's at times like a wall with long arms just poking the ball away.

I have got at Fred, a lot, since he signed. He has deserved it IMO. However, tonight he deserves praise. I think that was one of his best performances in a United shirt. Leipzig are top in Germany right now and he stood up to be counted against them.

Fine, almost almost reaching Ander levels in a big match and getting double the praise
Bore off, he’s clear upgrade on Ander and has even proven that in their direct encounter by totally dominating him just last week.

I didnt realize one match is more important than a whole career of matches. Thanks for that input

He's finally found his best role, and my god is he good at it. The passing is so frustrating but you forget about it after he goes and wins the ball again 5 seconds later. Players like Fred are vital to top teams, because his energy is infectious and he guarantees that we won't slag off later in to games.

Probably won't ever get the proper credit he deserves because the average fan is all about first impressions, but it's clear he belongs in any first XI we put on the pitch when fit.

The Lindelof, AWB, Fred triangle, does look a little spooky at times when being pressed. But that's not even worth mentioning tonight, because Fred was excellent. Constantly winning the ball back for us and in dangerous areas. We look more balanced when he plays.

He lost his place in the side last year because of the Covid break, he will be hard to shift this year.

Although Rashford got MOTM, Fred was the best player. Played a massive role in the goals, shielded the defence, added support to the attack and filled in any gaps in the midfield.

Just superb overall. Glad BT picked up on his performance, it was deserved.
