He’s cute though. We’re a couple of places above the relegation zone, we’re basically one loss away from being out of the title race after 6-7 games, I’d hold the aspirational talk about winning trophies for a couple of weeks.
We've played 5 games, with a game in hand. Win that game and we're 3 points of 1st. It's actually refreshing to see him so upbeat about our chances and so happy with the squad. It's time we have authentic expectations. The response since the Spurs match has been very positive.

Now, just get a win on Sunday and keep this momentum going.

We're at worst 6 points behind #1 is we lose to Arsenal. We're out of nothing

Hardly, we're six points behind Liverpool with a game in hand and one point behind City.

I only have one thing on my mind, can we trigger a response with this team when we go a goal behind and attack the opponents because that is only thing on my mind these days. When we start well and have control over the game and score first, we generally end up winning by good margins but when we go down early, I don't know if we can cope with it and react quickly to go to the other end and attack attack attack... We are still very very tediously slow in possession and that can go against us as well. I hope we can take advantage of the way Arsenal play ( open and expansive ) and break them. Hoping for a huge victory and lots of positivity on Sunday. Let's go! No Mata and James please.
We came from a goal down to win less than 2 weeks ago.

And Arsenal haven't really been open and expansive under Arteta. They're a much more conservative side than they were back in the day.

Really, one loss away from being out of title race? That's crazy

The pic in the OP is evidence that Ole is once again 'at the wheel'.

It's all gravy from here lads & lasses. Only good times ahead.

I think its even more tactical than fitness levels.
Ok Spurs game was a bit of an anomaly because we played with 10 men but Ole started Matic and Pogba in those two games and they were just way too slow. We were getting cut through midfield like butter.
Everything changed when Ole started playing Fred and McT in midfield. That's literally the biggest adjustment he's made and it made us a much better team.
No, it was fitness, and it wasn’t tactical. A clue to how you can tell is that we played Pogba and Matic in midfield just two months earlier, and won four straight games by a three goal margin, something never even Fergie managed with us in 21 years. So that doesn’t explain why we allowed 11 goals and five plus in the woodwork in three games. At all. What does explain it is that we had two weeks rest and no pre season, and all three teams we played had one month’ rest and a month of preseason. Before and after that period in time, we’ve had a bunch of very good results. Stats also confirm this abundantly clear in terms of runs, sprints, duels won, xG etc.

I made the same point you did, a bit earlier. As it was an irrationally pessimistic post, but there's no need for the insults. There's less and less tolerance on here regarding different points of view.

Nah was a bs rule designed to support the big clubs who have huge squads and dont want to dissappoint their players
It’s nothing to do with big clubs and disappointing players, it’s about adequately rotating players who are playing ridiculous amounts of football in short spaces of time with small respites. Like @georgipep says — let’s see what happens after the Christmas break. We’ve also got the Euros straight after the season ends. The amount of stress - physical and mental - mustn’t be understated.

Look at these quotes from Tuchel on Mbappe just a day or two ago:

I don't like them. Just don't like them. Can't explain why. Hate when we lose against them. Fingers crossed this time.

Solskjaer on Romero+Jones prospects
“Well, Sergio [Romero] has just come back into training this week, so he’s started his pre-season work and is working to get to his peak fitness with the goalkeepers. Phil has been injured and had an operation and working really hard to be back, hopefully he’ll get fit in December, when you’re injured you can’t get into the squad, he’s working really diligently and he’ll be coming back soon.”
"Jones is fit" will go in history as one of the best oxymoron.

The season is congested, which means more stress and fatigue on the players. this isn't some random rule, it suggested, and kept in the CL for a very good reason.

The smaller clubs voted it down because they don't have that extra fixture in Europe and can afford the status quo. The bigger clubs have to rotate squads more or risk fatigue to set in shortly.

I'm almost certain that this team have come from behind to win a number of times under Ole, admittedly without looking it up...

Unless someone can correct me and tell me I imagined that, just forget those concerns, strap in and enjoy the ride while the going is good my friend
I cannot wait, honestly. This team is far more exciting to watch in comparison with those teams under our last 3 managers. I cannot imagine the games where we had to watch Fellaini start games (more like "Fail"laini). This group of players are leaps and bounds ahead of the pack that contained Young, Valencia, Fellaini, Jones, Smalling, Blind, Darmian and co. We are far far more competitive and balanced now. I will always be thankful to Ole for actually doing the things I wanted the last 3 managers to do which is not signing players but to get rid of the crappy ones that already existed with huge pay grades. Regardless of all the crap that Ole has to bear from the so called fans, I'd say he's doing a great job with what's available to him. He's learning on the job and I must say, all too quickly :D

Has he said that we dont have wingers like Giggs and Beckham?

Hopefully it's TRUE because we have to stop playing like we do in a 4231.

We're 3 points off being 6

City are 1 point more than us.

The league table doesn't matter til march

Quelle surprise you would have such a response. You literally see everything from a negative point if view. Agenda.
And you never answered a previous post: When did league positions after 6 games become a thing?

His press conferences are brilliant for a supporter and the club.

Doesn’t say anything to motivate the opposition. Answers with a smile and it’s almost as if it reduces the amount of press hate for us. Let’s the football do the talking.

I honestly believe we can repeat the Leipzig performance and batter Arsenal. They're playing poorly, we're coming into this very confident. We were as good as anyone in Europe this week.

And that's even more concerning when you factor in that PSG didn't have to restart their domestic league season either.

From here to there
Madness that the card was such bullshit and he still misses 3 games.
And yet Lucas Digne got his one taken down to a 1 game ban (which was fair enough) while Lamela, every bit as guilty of the same offence as Martial, gets away scot free.

The question was what are you going to do with Jones and Romero! Didnt answer the question

I love how he talks up the squad. Must be brilliant for the players and give them great confidence going in to a game, after receiving such public praise from their manager.

Meanwhile at Tottenham...

Obsession with Mourinho is so funny. Some fans just can't seem to let him go. He needs to be followed and his failures weirdly must be celebrated.
He makes it into so many threads which have nothing to do with him. Very strange behaviour.

Wait so....our 1-3 against Palace and our 1-6 against Spurs were down to the fact that we had only been back off the beaches for two weeks, whilst these clubs had a couple of months to prepare?

Mad that isn't it. There was me thinking the RedCafe experts who declared most of our players as write-off's and Ole as a 'PE Teacher' had it all right on the money again. Who would have thought fitness levels had anything to do with results?
Look, there are things that go well above your little head. Xg and Patterns of Play and, it's complicated. Concepts like the importance of a pre season for both general fitness as well as match sharpness are things you don't get in OPTA Sports and other stats programs, so they don't exist, for that you need to do the unthinkable and actually watch football for a period of time. Get with the programme of the modern hipster football journalist that actually understands the game less then my grandma.

Neah com on, it's Arsenal, they have decent players. We are better but they have the attack to do any team.

Its only strange if you don't think he's a cnut but then that's on you.
