The short version of the theory is that in the mid 1960s, famed British secret agent James Bond was caught spying in the United States, and locked up in infamous island prison Alcatraz (aka The Rock) on espionage charges. He has no identity, not in the United States or Great Britain. He does not exist. (James Bond is allegedly a code name). This timeframe also matches up with Connery first donning the Bond tuxedo for ‘Dr. No’ in 1962.

I watch that at least once a year in my Nic Cage trilogy marathons (the other two being Con Air and Face/Off).
Great actor was SC, at least at 90, he had some good innings.
