Utterly depressing this lack of consistency, and Liverpool back to the top of the table.

Woodward and the glazers are the root cause of this. Imagine having Partey and sancho in our side today. Partey, a reasonable release clause.
is there one single united fan who doesn't know this ? Another reason is we have either the worst or at best the 2nd worst manager in the division.

How do Utd climb out of the bottom half of the table now?

The rest of November‘s EPL fixtures...3 points out of 9 ?
Everton - Away
WBA - Home
Southampton - Away

December’s fixtures (not inc. 2 CL & 1 EFL quarter final).....
West Ham - Away
City - Home
Sheffield Utd - Away
Leeds - Home
Leicester - Away
Wolves - Home
What odds getting 9 out of 18 points from that lot?
We‘ll be lucky to be in the top half by New Year unless there’s a massive turn around.

Two players, AWB and Shaw killed us in this game. How an earth are United, team that wants to be a top team with those two as their starters??? In a diamond system you can't have two defensive fullbacks.
Then we shouldn’t have started in a diamond, simple as.

I'm tired of this argument.

Please name a player in the last 5 years that after we've purchased them from another club have gotten better?

We've seen how Sancho looks when he's playing under a clueless manager in Southgate, why should we expect anything different here?
Hear hear! Finally somebody says it. People need to be clued up on how important management is.

I agree, to an extent. The selection, tactics and subs today were poor from Ole. But if we had sancho, we at least would have been able to play with width and cover for the loss of martial.
And Pogbas performance today compared to Partey speaks for itself.

There is more than one problem at the club, but for me, the Glazers and Woodward have done nothing but steer United into mediocrity. It was another shit show of a transfer window and ultimately, the manager pays the price.

But I do agree that Ole was poor today as were the players.

They paid 50m for Fred, gave Matic a longer contract, think McTominay is the next United great.
7 minutes after Fred went off we conceded.

None of our attacking players(pogba, Bruno, greenwood, rashford) did anything for nearly the whole game.

I was referring to us not being sensible and getting Partey not this game in particular. Also again we struggle against the low block and every man and his dog knows it.

Fuming. A game that 30 mins in and its glaringly obvious that what we are trying to do isn’t working.

OGS doesn’t make suitable changes at half time. Still, after a further 25 mins of tumescent football no progressive changes are made.

It took him at least 15 mins of second half to decide Matic for Fred!....Really

Restored to Matic diving for a penalty, Maguire diving for a penalty. Seriously. It’s pathetic.

Arsenal with Elneny in midfield dominated us in the middle of the park. Elneny.

Fred, Matic, McTominay aren’t good enough if we’re honest. Sure they can press and destroy but utterly clueless with the ball at their feet. Not helped by Pogba being woeful, Bruno being woeful.

And when we’re chasing a goal, he takes Greenwood off.

Surely a front 3 of Rashford, Cavani, Greenwood would have been a better option.

I’m not OGS out. Far from it. I think he’s building a decent squad and his man management appears to be fine. He really struggles with in game management. Like he has a plan (including subs) and regardless of how the game plays out he sticks to that plan
We played the diamond against Leipzig with Matic at the base and Fred box to box. He brings in Mctominay for Matic but then does the inexplicable by switching Fred to the base and Mctominay as box to box - that’s two changes to accommodate one player.

Why Ole played Mctominay for 90 minutes baffles the mind. I know a lot of fans like Mctominay but he is bang average - how many sides in the 6 will have him in their first 11?

We were 1-0 down with Arsenal looking to defend their lead and he takes off Greenwood and Bruno and brings on Matic and vd Beek. He should have taken off Mctominay and had Matic sit. Surely you need the players on with the most assists to play the game through when we searching for a breakthrough?

Ole has no one to blame but himself for that performance and has done very little to improve confidence in him

Because we put out a different midfield.
I'm not saying the manager put out the right team or got his tactics right but does that excuse the absolute lack of desire or energy and all the misplaced passes?

We were flat apart from the brief period after half-time.

Still think we’re winning the league. Long way to go and when it clicks it will CLICK. My word.

Arsenal aren't very good. If we showed up at all we would have beaten them.
Then the manager makes sure they show up, reminds them what this game means in our club history. Trouble is it is no longer a fighting for the title rivalry. It is a mid table rivalry.

Well yes. It does. If you put McT in the team instead of VDB then your midfield diamond positioning and passing will go to crap. And then the high press destroys you and the heads go down.

Yeah, plenty. Including at least two players who are the same nationality and played the same position. So it’s not exactly a difficult question to answer.
The lad can press. Genuinely.

He is apalling in all other functions. Id take Kleberson all day. And he was shit.

He’s had a bunch of excellent games, this season and last. Far better than anything Kleberson ever produced. His problem (like most of this poxy team) is his capacity to follow up an excellent game by playing like absolute dog shit in his next run out.

We were off it from the start though.
There was a lack of motivation it seemed. It seemed like the typical post-CL heroics hang-over.

Expand that to how many Premier League sides would even have him in their first eleven? Maybe a handful at best.

He's another one of those who doesn't really have any talent or quality on the ball but works really hard and is a United product so best stick with him because feel good sentimentalism is a better way to pick a team than looking objectively at ability.

I'm better than Messi (even though I'm not)
At what stage does this become unacceptable? People saying Arsenal weren’t great, maybe they weren’t but that doesn’t mean we should be comparing ourselves to them who are bang average side. Ole knows United and the ‘United way’. I’m sure the ‘United way’ isn’t to sit back and hope for a break against mediocre teams at home. It’s no point coming on here and bashing Ole but the bottom line is he isn’t good enough.

Have we ever had a worst footballer than Fred?

It defies belief he gets paid to do this.
The feck you on about? Either an overreaction or absolutely clueless - Fred has been one of our more solid players in an admittedly inconsistent/shambolic couple of seasons for the whole team

He is not a regular starting midfielder for a top four side as he doesn't specialise in any particular position. If he's a utility man in to do odd jobs here and there across a long season I have no problem with that, or maybe he could drop into a back three like he has for Scotland, but he can't be trusted to deliver the goods b2b nor sitting on a consistent basis.

People seem to be asking whether it’s the players or the manager’s fault (ofc Woodward and the Glazers are also culpable), but the answer is its both.

We have obvious gaps in the squad, we lack any character or leadership and our manager is just poor.

The squad might be in better shape than 12 months ago, but it’s meaningless if we’re in the bottom half.

I could watch that second half 1000 times and never understand what Ole was attempting with those substitutions....

and that happens sooooo often.

Pogba offers nothing defensively in these games. We're essentially defending with 10 men. We look so much more vulnerable when we lose the ball and our shape suffers because of it. I'm a fan of Pogs but I'm seriously doubting now if he has a role with us anymore. He's a complete liability when we're up against it, especially a high press.

Matic, our only DM who can comfortably pass forward through the press is left on the bench. Bizarre stuff. McTominay wasn't up to it today.

Ole said before the game we'll play the United way - did we fk. Takes off our best attackers in Greenwood and Bruno. Arteta must've been delighted with himself. I have faith in Ole but some real head scratcher decisions before and during the game there.

A very bad result as we all know. We were too defensive and we looked nervous from kick off on. To get beaten by a team as limited going forward as Arsenal is bloody frustrating.

Feck me. That’s the third Arsenal game I’ve watched this season. And every one of them has been an insult to the sport of football. Surely the most negative, shit to watch team in the league?

We were fecking useless, mind you but still...
wow.
You watched a different game than us?

Arsenal were for once really good. Pressed United all over the pitch and were easily the better team for 70 minutes. Only at the end when they started sitting back they were shaky.

but to say they were the most negative and utter embarrassment to football... what the feck
