Expansion card will be a must on the Series S. 512 GB was tiny in the first place, but I suppose that is how they could then sell it at the price range it is. a 1TB SSD would put it in with the PS5 digital which would make the Series S even more redundant.

I suppose you have the option still of playing/swapping games of a HDD at least.
Nah. Anybody who would need the SSD would just buy the X outright I think as at that point they're the same price.

It's only a primary console for people who recycle the same 3/4 games (COD, Fortnite, FIFA/Madden, Minecraft/Rocket League) which is a hell of a lot of people. For those people, it's grand. They will all be managing with a 500gb console already like me. And if you don't have COD & Warzone, it's much less of a problem.

For others, it'd be a secondary console to accompany a PS5/gaming PC, and there to play the odd gamepass game.

A next gen console at £250 is insane so there had to be concessions. PS4 Pro / Xbox One X aren't even that cheap (now, nevermind at launch).

I wouldn't buy it, because the whole point of next gen for me is the quick resume and fast loading QOL improvements, meaning I can jump between lots of games. The memory on the S is the biggest barrier. But for most people I know who play 1 or 2 games, to get on next gen at £250 is gonna be massive.

I'm surprised we haven't had Series S previews yet to be honest...

And I really want to see Forza Horizon 4 with enhancements.

What would you like to know about the S?
Just general curiosity. At that price and form factor it seems like fantastic value, and like I said I'd consider one for a 2nd room and to take to the office.

Hopefully xCloud can stream to the console soon. Will make the S more valuable, and mean I can try a stream version of gamepass games before committing to download them.

Alright figured it out now, managed to add to basket and then proceeded to checkout but then you go to click buy now it’s blanked out, won’t let you click on it. Guess it’s still out of stock.

Looks like my fecking about just cost me the opportunity of ordering one, feck knows when another chance will come up now.
There was availability on AO yesterday, I'm about to cancel my order on there since I got one sorted on xbox.com so make sure you have Stock Informer alerts on.

Tbf by the time my Stock informer alert game through for Xbox.com availability it had already gone OOS. @Bojan11 How did you become aware of the xbox.com availability? Maybe my stock informer alerts are lagging.

@Bojan11 Cheers for the heads up pal if it wasn’t for my incompetence then I’d have gotten one.

You reckon the MS store is the most likely to get more stock in again first or could it be anyone?

Cheers pal. So is this Stock informer worth signing up to then or is it unreliable?

Definitely worth signing up to. I've had alerts for PS5 digital consoles coming through for the past few weeks but because Paypal is now forcing 2FA it's delayed the payment process and by the time I've sorted Paypal login out it's gone OOS. I mean there definitely is lag time between the stock becoming available on the website and the alerts being pushed, but short of refreshing forums every minute it's definitely the best way to be informed of new stock.

Am i the only person that deletes games from the HDD as soon as i'm done with them.

I also only play one game through to finish at a time (multiplayer games aside)

350+gb would be more then manageable i hate the clutter of leaving old games on the disk drive.

No the people on this forum want 10 games at any one point on their console to play just 1 game at a time as they have no use for Quick Resume.

Personally i jump between games - Fortnite, cod, warzone, gears, forza, tony hawks, ori, and then if I am playing a single player or 2 could all theoretically get played in the same week.

No, I do it too because it's a healthy mental practice. Really can't get on board with being a digital hoarder. I always remove apps/bookmarks I'm done with.

That said, the S does have me a bit worried because it's quite small in terms of storage capacity and certain games are only getting bigger.

Officially the best poker player on RAWK.
Whilst I don't care about the low SDD space on the S (the RAM still is, and will prove to be easily the biggest issue this gen for them), I do question those who call themselves gamers and yet claim they won't fill that up in minutes.

I mean, do you only play single player games and never look back? Sea of Thieves alone takes over 60 of that, and you can't just clear it and delete it.

Nope, I do the exact same as you do.

Hate leaving games on the HDD that I ain’t going to play any longer unless it’s a multiplayer game.

Agreed. PlayStation 5 and Series S aren’t for serious gamers.

Will be more than sorted for Day one - but when is the embargo going to be lifted for AC: Valhalla going to be lifted? Need to read reviews before buying!
