All Ancelloti needs to do is sit tight and not attack us and we will flounder.

I'm absolutely sick of how clueless we look in the majority of games. Slow aimless passing, very little variety in our build-up with constant balls into the feet of attackers back to goal, trying to thread the eye of a needle in the middle and fecking it up every time, in wide areas we can't/won't overload and so players are left to either fail a take-on or play it backwards or sideways. Our transitions are glacial; the amount of times the ball breaks and a player is holding onto it or pissing about passing around the backline until the opposition get back into shape. We're meant to be a fecking counter-attacking team.

Our defending at times would make schoolboys blush, no exaggeration. The first goal was disgusting organisation and throughout the match we looked terrified of their players marauding towards the back four or bamboozling us with moderately slick passing play (Ba did some good link-up play and a nice dummy for their second).

More odd subs, very little idea of how to change the game and inject a bit of fecking energy into our play and ultimately it's a pretty comfortable win for them, their first ever in this competition.

When even a draw would have been useful we put in that hideous performance. Utter shite and very worrying.

Only saw the 2nd half but that was enough, what a pathetic performance, champions league game to all but guarantee a place in the knock out stages and we only mustered 1 shot in the whole half.

What we do in 20 passes everyone else does in 5, back to some serious zombie football, passing and walking, so depressing.

We've seen that sort of performance from this team so often since Fergie left. Attacking wise we are so blunt, clueless and unorganised. Ole isn't fixing that anytime soon, he doesn't appear to have any idea how to fix the issue.

Can we put this to bed once and for all?

How many games versus poor/mediocre opposition do we have to lose and play poorly in, before we conceded that the way to beat us, and the way to not lose to us, is to soak it up and hit us on the break?

Time, and time, and time, and time, and time, and time again. Oh sure, we beat teams with better coaches and better players who play with more space behind (which is about the only strategy we have), but if Leipzig and PSG were just a tad more conservative they'd have beaten us too.

I'm done with Ole. Whether or not these catastrophic performances are directly his fault, it's clear by now that he's not the one who can fix it. I would rather continue with the managerial carousel than squander another year or two wishing for miracles from someone with no credentials whatsoever.

Next time is at home. We don't win at home.
I was being sarcastic. In all seriousness we were utterly shambolic tonight. A defeat this weekend and it could be goodbye Ole. For obvious reasons I wouldn't want us to lose, and there's no real guarantee, but if it means we'll get rid of Ole I'd take it and move on.

Jeez, I feel dirty typing that.

The balance has been terrible the last few games...Ole needs to get it right and fast.

I think the coaching staff might have underestimated Istandul tonight with the team selection.
It's like he's suddenly thought, hmm I paid 40m for Van Beek, I probably have to give him a game occasionally.
And then you have the perennial Pogba issue, Matic being better on the ball than Fred and McTom but too slow.
McTom being whole hearted but so limited. Fred being so energtic but can't socre, assist or pass.

And let's not even talk about defence.

The first goal is on AWB. He is the defensive player on corners. He decided to attack and lost the ball by messing up his cross while the two CBs were up front for the corner.

An unforgivable defeat against a truly terrible opponent at this level. I dont really know what to think about this one, but for me there have been two occasions where I've started to think that change is inevitable. The first was the Burnley defeat. The second was tonight.

Let's be very clear at this point - because fans are going to want a scapegoat here - these players are letting us all down. Look at the ridiculous errors against Spurs. The Pogba brainfart on Saturday. That first goal tonight where not one player recognised the obvious danger. Its schoolboy stuff. These are player errors, and like Keane said, these players are about to get another manager sacked.

Having said that, there was no direction to our play tonight. No ideas. Perhaps Ole has lost the dressing room. I dont know. Its inexplicable that this much talent can fail to trouble a team this poor, one week after we beat Leipzig 5-0 and two weeks after we beat PSG with such a mature European performance.

There is no way that one person can be responsible for a situation where the gap between good performance and bad is so huge. Something stinks within this club. Something is not right. It will cost Ole his job soon I feel, but it wont fix whatever the feck is going on with this group of players.

Weve done it again
Bought a great player in Bruno and turned into something that's now pretty ordinary.

Always makes me laugh when the headlines are like UTD STUNNED. EMBARRASSED. This is normal. How long does this need to go on for. It’s doesn’t ‘stun’ anyone.

Ole is slowly turning into moyes. Keane was right, these players will throw any manager under the bus.
We are a joke at the minute, on and off the field.

Really disappointed with that. The goals we conceded were such basic stuff. Shocking. Thought we may push on after the Martial goal but that second half was a complete waste of time really. 2 losses in a row now in a game where we could have all but guaranteed qualifying for the next round. Not good.

Read some dude's excise and it was that "this game had nothing riding on it."

This is the new excuse for losses

Shocking performance. Can’t understand how the first goal happens, we were looking good before that and it totally changed the game.

Players should hang their heads in shame but Ole might have ran out of time with that

That was a fecking mess. I don't understand how any professional football club can be this clueless on the ball. Let alone Man United. It was probably the worst display of chasing a result that I've ever seen
In lots of ways it was worse than Spurs, for me. Spurs was one of those freak results that are horrible to bear witness to, but this just said so much more about what we currently represent and where we're actually at. He needs to leave.

Anyone think this could unravel and end up being curtains for us in the Champions League? Our next game is so important to win. I can definitely see us losing away to Leipzig and home to PSG.

I can absolutely see us having to go to Leipzig on the final match day and get a point to get to 10 and qualify. A shocking defeat tonight masked over by some with us having 6 points already.

Dig up stupid!
That first goal is absolutely extraordinary
At no level at all is that anything other than a disaster - unacceptable, utterly unacceptable from professional football players

Horrid.

Was watching with my 4 year old.
Feel bad for him.
It's a miracle any young humans keen on football can stand us. So often we put in those sorts of performances which are a genuine disgrace to the club. Slightly over the top but that's really fecked me off.

Throwing all your strikers on is pointless if you cannot get the ball to them. We just kept playing sideways, infront of a parked bus. On the one occasion that we got round them and managed to put a decent cross into the box, we actually scored. The lessons were right there. Get round the back of them and cross the ball to a team mate. It is so frustrating that we cannot break teams down when they put everyone behind the ball. If we didn't play such a high line, we could have drawn them out, then found some space in behind, but all too often our build up was too slow, too predictable. We really could have done with Telles tonight. Or anyone who can get down the wing and deliver decent balls into the box.

They should be made watch that match all the way home on the flight on repeat, and tomorrow, made watch it again and again and again, over and over. I'd go for something like the treatment from A Clockwork Orange.

Sit them all down, eyes pried open and force them to watch it over and over again, maybe that kind of sadistic treatment is called for as a punishment. I've seen u12s with more passion and desire to win than this lot.

Oh, and fine the whole lot a months wages too.
While I fully agree and remember Clockwork Orange (brilliant music by the way), none of this is even remotely going to happen.
It is just far too easy for these players to go through the motions without breaking sweat.
