I also think its naive to assume all minorities are incensed by strong rhetoric against immigration - for a lot of them immigration is also a concern. Heck, in the UK I know plenty of minorities who voted for Brexit primarily motivated by immigration.

Ballots can arrive till 12 November in NC, so they probably will wait and release final numbers then.
I live in Vermont. It's arguably the bluest state of all and has the highest percentage of Biden voters. The state legislature is so democrat/progressive that they recently had enough votes to overturn a veto from the governor on climate change. But Scott is popular and moderate (for a Republican) and the voters like how he has handled Covid-19. Vermont has the lowest incidence of cases and deaths and was recently called out by Fauci as an example to the rest of the country. Also, New England states vote solid Democrat for congress and president but like Republican governors for some reason - look as well at NH, MA, CT. It's a strange one.

I find watching Fox a bit confusing, at times I went an hour thinking that this could be a reasonable (though of course with a Republican bias) news coverage, a few people even calling out the Trump BS so clearly that I was beginning to think they have officially turned on him. But then there are segments that are just blunt propaganda. Especially those segments where they on one hand invite a ranting Republican to a panel, who can say whatever they want and then pair them with a Democrat who is barely allowed to finish two conesecutives sentences without either a guest or host talking over them and as soon as they are about to make powerful point anyway they just shut them down completely for something "urgent".
I agree that this link is not one that is as straightforward as it seems. People need to remember that immigrants who vote are at least 5 years (minimum time on green card to get citizenship), but often longer, removed from the point of lets call it "maximum risk" in their journey to becoming citizens which is while your status is that of a non-immigrant or your green card application is still awaiting adjudication. I do think that after that a lot of that ugly human instinct that we see so often of "oh, I waited and jumped through all the hoops, so now everyone else needs to also" kicks in and they don't give half a shit about other immigrants.

Step back for a moment and consider that more people than ever voted for Biden as President and Trump's loss in popular votes compared to 16 is far greater. Why the feck should I care about how close it was and oh lets be nice bc so many people still voted for Trump while so many more even than last time did NOT vote for the guy. Sometimes I wonder why the Republicans are so afraid of "socialism". There are so many developed countries in the world that practice some forms of socialized medicine, with certain drugs, medical procedures that are covered by the government or government insurance and are given to citizens for low price or for free. Go for private healthcare if you are rich or have private insurance for better care.
They counted in person voting first and then mail on/absentee votes after. So all the votes they had to count since Tuesday were massively in Bidens favor because Trump told Republicans for months not to vote early or vote by mail, that its fraud or whatever else. So now thats coming back to screw him over.

Democrats could say they were thinking of the voters and that there is a pandemic going on, Trump doesn't care less about them.
Who wants to bet on whether Republicans will now consider restricting mail voting as a way of voter suppression? I know mail in ballots were more popular this year because of Covid, but it’s clear that I think it did help democratic turnout.

Its not so much a worry, more a useful stick to beat the opposition with by tapping into the fears from the cold war in order to scare voters. If you remove the 'socialist' connotations, I'd wager many republican voters would actually respond favourably to certain 'socialist' policies. If Trump took the Obamacare plan, simply renamed it 'Trumpcare' and changed absolutely nothing, you'd be certain they'd lap it up.
A bit like how much of the Labour's policies from their manifesto in the last UK general election were well received, but their leader wasn't.

I can't talk about the subtleties of American politics, but I think at the very least it's a stick to beat the Dems with, a fear to stoke and politically that's probably much more valuable than bettering the life of lower income citizens, some of whom may only have voted for you in the first place, because they are so desperate.

Trump specifically told his voters not to send their ballots by mail as he didn't trust the postal services. The "downside" is that when significantly more mail votes are for Biden, then you can't really trust the early results. Particularly in grey states. Covid-19 has caused this weirdness. Under regular circumstances, Biden would have been announced yesterday. If not 2 days ago...

Not sure on the rules of Ohio particularly, but in open primaries people can vote in whichever primary they want (or both), whereas in closed you have to be registered to that party.
