Pogba plus some cash to Juve for Ronaldo. Then have Ronaldo here for 2 to 3 years before he heads to MLS to play for Becks at Inter Miami. He’d be a huge influence on our young players particularly Mason who could see first hand what it takes to be and stay world class.
Seriously? Juve paid £50M to RM for the transfer. Now we give the Pogba, a 27y.o player plus cash for a 35y.o player?

Footballer arent fine french wines.

Ronaldo is extremely wealthy, we have nothing to offer him. He’s one of the most ego driven players in the history of football. He wants to win the ballon dor, he wants titles, he wants the CL goal scorer record. He’s not going to come to a team that aren’t even assured of CL qualification. The only way we get him is if we suddenly become a world class team that he can slot into & be assured of individual success with.
I think the opposite is true. Man United were the place to be when he left and Real had a lot to prove. He was their catalyst to 1500 CL titles or whatever. He is not a player that takes the easy route and this United team would be exactly what he needs to once again be the focal point of a rebirth of a great giant.

Not sure how we're supposed to be able to afford his wages in the current climate.

Oh my silly stories and it’s not even silly season. No way on earth does Ronaldo play for United again and no way on earth we will be swapping Pogba for him.

I'll agree to the second part. Dont think your assessment of the first part is entirely accurate. He loves united and Scrooge McDuck likes to make money. We desperately need a leader signing and signing for less money and having him for a couple of years would be something Our Scrooge would cherish
Falcao, Zlatan, Cavani. See the pattern here

I'm willing to forgive Woodward for the last 7 years if he makes this happen.
I’d genuinely consider doing likewise for the Glazers despite their horrific running of the club for double that timeframe if this happens. They are Woodward’s bosses after all.

We seem to be a club that signs world class players way past their prime in recent years - Falcao, Schweinsteiger, Zlatan, Cavani - so who knows?

Juve is probably threatening to lower his wages in a contract renewal because they cant afford him.

His agent is probably using us (like all players do) to get a better contract from Juve.

Having said that, if all United cared about was selling shirts, we should go all out for Ronaldo and Messi. The prospects of them playing together at United would be crazy. The games would be broadcasted all over the world for big bucks.

Never mind the incomings for a minute, you believe that we could sell 11 players in one window? What are you smoking?

I don't think he is going to join a team which he needs to carry anymore. If he moves it will be a safe team where it's easy to score goals and win titles.

Bayern won't be in for him, so PSG is the most likely destination if he leaves Juve.

A move to United for example would probably be too risky for his reputation if he is not able to carry them.

You could argue that United have better players than he currently plays with at Juve. Who at his current club is actually world class? They’re all decent to very good at best
Wow.

I guess you haven’t seen much of Ronaldo in his 30s or what Zlatan is doing at 39. I suppose you totally forgot then the impact a 36 year old Zlatan had here before a freak knee injury. How footballers treat their bodies has changed significantly leading them to play at a high level for a much longer time. So yes, some do age like a fine wine. 35 year old Ronaldo >>>>>>>>>>> 27 year old Pogba.

The deal would suit both Juve and United. We get rid of a player who doesn’t want to be here and we get at least 2 years of Ronaldo. A straight swap would be ideal.

It's never going to happen but I'd swap Pogba for Ronaldo every day of the week. To be fair I'd swap Pogba for a packet of Chewits. It wouldn't make financial sense but it would benefit the team.

Also, mentioning Ronaldo and Sanchez in the same sentence is an abomination. They’re cut from completely different cloth. The only thing I’d agree with is that he’s past his best but his level is still superior to anyone at the club currently and almost everyone in the league if not everyone.
Dybala is easily world class. Agree on the rest though.

Dybala is very good on his day but not World Class. If he was, he would be an undisputed starter for this relatively average Juventus side which he hasn't been throughout Ronaldo's time there. He was fantastic last season and terrible the season before and has started this season poorly. He certainly has World Class potential but hasn't actually operated at that level for more than half of the time Ronaldo has been there.

Why? Pogba is behind Matic on our team sheet.
He is the last midfielder we want to play.
Getting rid of him to get Ronaldo would be genius, otherwise we will lose him for nothing.
We wanna get rid of Pogba anyway. To get Ronaldo for him, genius piece of work.

Why? It's true. Who from that Juve set-up can you genuinely call world class?
Sandro, De Ligt, Dybala, CR7, Arthur, Chiesa will be among our starting 11, while Kulusevski, Demiral and Bentancur will be quality depth. You are seriously underrating Juventus.

Doubt Ed could secure this transfer, probably balls it up by by looking for Ronaldo plus 100m for Pogba. If remotely true it doesn't bode well for Ole's vision, bringing in one experienced pro (Cavani i mean not Ighalo he will be sent packing soon) can be excused but signing Ronaldo too would be a significant shift in strategy, this is an Ed Disneyland wet dream.

None of those players are world class. Sandro who's been relatively poor for seasons now? And especially Chiesa? Really?? Maybe De Ligt but he's only been around for a season. You need continued and prolonged years of quality to be recognised at that level. At least 2 years.

Note: I said they have very good players at best. Those players you listed are just that. Not world class. (Minus Ronaldo).

Edit: Just noticed you said they'd start for United. Yes most of them. But a lot of United's players would greatly add to Juve's too. Doesn't make their squad better. Pogba for example who is barely needed would instantly be their best midfielder.

It's more about the first sentence of that quote to be honest.

There are not many players out there in the world right now who deserve the term world class in my opinion though.

Why so glum? For so long, we have been acquiring players from lower clubs and getting their best playing years. For example, Rooney, Sheringham etc.

Now we are not the same top club so it only makes sense for someone who left us in their prime to come back to us in their final playing years. Let's just accept it.
Perhaps my comment made it seem glum... I just meant he is not in his prime anymore and would be on insane wages... we'd be better off using that money on player(s) who can help build for the future. Players 18-27 years old that are good now and can also improve with the team. Getting Ronaldo for 2 seasons or however long will just give us a big gap to fill in 2 years.

I'd have no doubt Ronaldo even at his age would have a far more consistent and positive impact on our team than Pogba, which is so sad, we should be experiencing the very best of Pogba right now, we shouldn't even be discussing such a deal, but to me, I wouldn't need to take much convincing at all to do it as things stand right now.

I would get Ronaldo for Pogba and then I would also look to raise funds to get Grealish. Sell Martial and whoever else we have that is of some value. We will sell Dalot soon, maybe sell Baily too.
