One of my two tracking numbers (for the same delivery)still says it was scanned in France at 2am. Neither have updated since but DPD say it should still be fine and not in France.

I remain unconvinced

@Alock1 @Bojan11 be honest the Ps5 excites you more than the Xbox.

@Solius @Damien @Pexbo how you finding yours?
Great, though I've purely been playing Astro. Whoever had the idea to include it in the console deserves a raise. Perfect homage to previous generations, perfect introduction to all the controller has to offer (the first time you are in rain is a particular 'woah' moment) and, by having pretty much everyone be able to play it including the developers of games, it should theoretically encourage third party usage of the DualSense features.

Anybody having issues with the size?

I tried putting it on top of the TV stand like the X but it's far too big and ugly. I thought the Series X was big but this is massive.

I put it in one of the slots instead. I definitely underestimated the size as with the stand it fills most of the space.

The stand itself is far from an elegant solution, I can't tell if I've done it properly and when I was plugging hdmi in or if I moved it slightly it would come out.

I can't get to the disc drive without lifting the console up and worried it'll come out of the stand every time I do

Would people be concerned with ventilation here?

Gonna set up now and go grab Spiderman from Argos.
You could swap with the sky box slot above? No lip on that to catch the discs...

The rain stuff was great. It all works together so well, just hope Devs take advantage of it. I’d imagine with how much Sony have pushed it though they’ll be telling developers they have to utilise it.

Probably can't tell on the video but the shelf isn't even between the two, the slot with the Sky Q box is even smaller so not sure it'd fit at all

Not confident with the weight either

What part of the country do you live in?
Northern Ireland. Found out yesterday they dicked around and missed launch day delivery, but it supposed to come tomorrow

DPD say they cant see anything unusual on their system, but for me the app tracking says

It's about utilizing it well too mind. Jeff Gerstmann on Giamtbomb this week saying he's now seen more examples of it being implemented badly than well.

Obviously it's better to have it than not though and have the option.

Naughty Dog will do some amazing things with it I just hope they don't go over the top and every 30 seconds theres use of the haptic feedback or the triggers.

TLOU2 could already take big advantage of it with an update from what I've seen of that game.

If it's coming tomorrow then you might be okay. If the tracking hasn't updated overnight then there's some sort of problem.

Yeah it was a great idea to get people on board and showcase ideas of how it can be used for other studios.

I'll be interested to see how many people actually open and play it when we get some stats in a few weeks.

You'd have thought for early adopters it'd be a high percentage.

How do delivery drivers think they're going to get away with stealing these?

Is it really worth your job? Possible jail? Criminal record? Absolute idiots man.

Yea I'm supicous myself but it they say it's still on track theres probably nothing I can do for now.

Not that it matters. My internet went down late last night and Sky say it's an external fault with my line (just my line) and that openreach will fix it in the next 5 working days. It's not my week.

My GF's office mate's husband was done for this lately working for UPS. Over 50k of Rolex watches went missing (and they magically paid off all their credit cards and debt). He was caught, but only sacked and let off with community service. He has since worked for other delivery firms.

Just letting you know I sent something to NI recently via DPD and it went to the Antrim Depot. Just strange how your one is going to France. Who is the other guy on here that ordered from Argos and got delayed? Maybe he can help you with his tracking.

Just a quick tip for anyone that's getting a "4K HDR not supported" line in the screen settings menu, where it will only let you display HDR at 1080p. I had to go into my TVs external input settings and enable enhanced 4K signal format.
Thanks for this, read it earlier and came in useful when i set it up as this was the case.

Wtf? That's ridiculous! So basically they do it because there is no real punishment. Imagine getting caught stealing 50k and your next job is the exact same thing. Absolutely mental.

Does anyone know of any firms taking on delivery drivers? I'd prefer to deliver diamonds or gold bars if possible.

Think you're talking about me who also lives in NI. @Tiber Mine hasn't updated since 2:57am and says it's in Birmingham. Very odd that yours is in France but hopefully we'll both get them tomorrow.

It's one of those "couldn't make it up!" scenarios. Even worse, the woman still brags about it (which we suspect is how he got caught in the first place, plenty in the office were candidates for snitching him up). She doesn't say he still does it, but everyone suspects he's at it still as every now and then she's in new stuff she can't afford.

Well the DPD Ireland ref number says it was scanned in France at 2am. The DPD UK number says it was scanned in Birmingham at virtually the same time. And DPD can't see the France thing on their system at all.

So hopefully it's not actually in france. But at this point nothing will surprise me

That absolutely terrible, few years back I remember staff stealing stock from a technological company I was at and they would go to lengths to ensure people were blacklisted unable to work within a similar sector / industry. I'm also perplexed because Rolex serials always tell the story, he must have sold to a dodgy distributor.

Of course none of this would be an issue if Argos had the common sense to ship 48 hour orders a day early. My Spiderman disc was also 2 days late and I cancelled Cyberpunk from them last night. Will reorder from Amazon or Sony

Many years ago I worked in a high street bank and a girl eventually admitted to stealing a couple of grand from the till - thanks for the sleepness nights you bitch and me starting smoking but that's not the point.

When she eventually cracked she had already started working somewhere else and they let her resign rather than want the story getting out across the town.

I think there were a couple of them at it and he just got roped in. Certainly wasn't the brains behind the operation with the outlay and his missus bragging

More likely it's in Birmingham than France I reckon. Wouldn't worry too much about it but I know it's hard to relax until it's safe in your arms.

Chances of any dribs and drabs of stock tonight?

Quite a few sites had stock today. Amazon sent out an email earlier today saying they are totally sold.out and don't know when they will have more

The launch of these next gen consoles has been nothing short of a disaster. Packages being stolen, deliveries not turning up on time or going missing and a serious lack of stock to meet the demand. Obviously the pandemic has played a massive part in that but some of the other stuff is inexcusable.

There’ll never be enough stock to meet demand for launch consoles.

Every tech launch this year has had the same issue.

As for the couriers? Things are always going to turn up late. And I say that as someone who is having delivery delays

Of course everyone can’t get theirs on day one but it seems this time round there’s been a serious lack of stock across the board for both consoles. I can only assume Covid has majorly affected the manufacturing of these machines, I mean Microsoft have said there facing stock shortages into April next year, that’s mental.

Aye, the pandemic has really fecked everything up. I’m probably only noticing it a lot more as I’m desperately trying to obtain a console everyday.
