One of the benefits we now have with CL football is that kids will join UEFA Youth League.

Rule: Players must be born on or after 1 January 2002, with a maximum of five players born between 1 January 2001 and 31 December 2001 allowed in the 40-player squad, and a maximum of three of these players allowed per each match

So, this is the squad.

Born 2002 and after:
GK: Mee, Guadagno, Mastny
DF: Mengi, Dodgson, Bejger, Hardley, Hughes, Fish, Neville, Denham, Gallagher-Allison
MF: Wellens, Haygarth, Savage, Mejbri, McCan, Svidersky, Iqbal,
FW: Hoogewarf, Sotona, Elanga, Mejia, Emeran

Plus all new youth intake:
Goalkeepers: Daniel Polakowski, Radek Vitek.
Defenders: Rhys Bennett, Oliver Kilner, Logan Pye.
Midfielder: Omari Forson.
Forwards: Joe Hugill, Shola Shoretire.

Plus new signings:
Marc Jurado, Alvaro Fernandez & Isak Hansen-Aaroen (and whoever new signs)

Born 2001:
GK: Carney
DF: Devine, Laird
MF: Garner, Puigmal, Galbraith, Traore, Stanley, Helm
FW: Greenwood

Of course I doubt Greenwood, Garner and Laird will be available.

Garner and Laird will both play I’d imagine. Greenwood won’t be near it at all though. He’ll be involved with The first 3 CL games so wouldn’t be allowed to play after that anyway.

Squad doesn’t look that strong at a glance once Greenwood is gone.

I don't think Garner and Laird will play. Garner will probably leave on loan, and Laird who knows (loan, or around first team, anything else would be bad for him).

I think we are pretty good honestly. Mengi at CB will probably be in the team (unless he make a big breakthrough to the first team regular), with Fish and with Bejger and Hardly as backups. Divine and Hughes as full backs plus new signings although pretty young. Midfield is OK with older lads Galbraith and Puigmal, and Mejbri, McCan, Wellens, Svidersky. Also upfront we have Elanga, we will see what will happen with Emeran and Mejia, also maybe McNeil. Looks like good squad I think.

Very excited to see Mejia in this competition. His stats before he came here suggested he knows where the net is and then some.

let's hope he can stay fit. Last time I saw him he looked sharp then got another bad injury, I assume he's fit again now?

Yeah that was a real shame that. I can't say I know, but with all this time off it would benefit those who got some of those serious injuries. We look stacked in talent in most positions now!

I've been looking forward to seeing Noam Emeran ever since he signed last year. Hopefully he's over his injury problems and we see him in action soon.

Thanks for taking the time for posting this information. Taking a guess, I imagine facing opposition from different countries is good for the development of the kids.

He was back before the lockdown and even played in a friendly and he scored 4 or 5 goals in the match

I think Mejia is the real deal and once he starts playing people will love him.
If I was betting I would go for him to break through into the first team ahead of even mejbri

Probably strongest XI will be

Mastny
Bejger - Mengi - Fish - Devine
McCann - Helm - Mejbri
Shoretire - Hoogewerf - Elanga

Assuming we don't play any of the second year U23s lads. I would prefer not to as that midfield used to play together for the whole last year so would be better functioning compared to let's say you put Galbraith in and take Helm out. Also I'd look to loan or sell them on January (Galbraith, Puigmal, Traore) so probably better this way for squad continuation.

i would give the last overage spot to Stanley as he needs game times (doubt he'll start for the 23s) and would be handy to have around.

So on the bench we'll the likes of Stanley, Haygarth, Wellens, Sotona, Mejia, Emeran, Hardley, Carreras, Iqbal, Svidersky etc and perhaps some other first years U18s.

I think Radek Vitek will play in goal and Noam Emeran will also be in the first 11. And if we sign Willy Kambwala he also might get in ahead of Fish.

You could make a case for Shoretire starting, but he's still eligible next season. Last chance for some others. I'd play Laird because he's missed out on a lot of football. Mengi might not drop down to this level now that he's considered a 1st team option. But it wouldn't hurt his development either. Hardley or Kambwala could come in for him.

Just my opinion on what I've seen from the players this season.

If they haven't gone on loan we'll probably have Galbraith, Devine or Helm in the squad as well as Laird

Galbraith would add a lot of extra quality. Would feel kind of dirty including a senior international. Ha.

I suppose we could also register Pellistri and Amad Diallo for this as well if we wanted?
