Could do with getting his head on some of those crosses into our box as no one else is interested.
Improved slightly on the ball tonight but still a liability when up against pace.

He’s been directly up against Vardy and Traore in the last 2 games and has been excellent in both

Decent game defensively. One nice ball over the top for Rashford iirc. Other than that though he plays the ball slowly and simply. You expect a bit more than that from Maguire, thats what Smalling would do and he looked to have attacking intent when he first got hyped up playing for England in a back 3. For most of the match Bailly honestly looked more interested in attacking than Maguire did

He and Bailly is an excellent partnership, shame about Bailly and his love for the physio room
For real. Watching Maguire with Bailly, Maquire looks so much more comfortable next to him. Hopefully he stays fit, but alas, Bailly and staying fit seems to be impossible, which is a shame, because there's a proper complimentary partnership possible there.

He looks like a very classy ball playing centre back when he has a fast no nonsense guy like Bailly next to him.

Think he struggled pretty much in the first half, and the team’s offensive marking was poor in general. A better team than Wolves would have punished us for that. More control in the second half, but I still miss more urgency and pace in his passing. Too many times he slows us down, and I really hope this is the first and last time I witness an United captain carrying the ball towards his own goal at stoppage time while beeing 0-0 against Wolves at Old Trafford. I was so pissed. Haha.

He's really a very good centre half. He might not have been the one people wanted, but at this point you have to acknowledge it.

The calamity free version of Bailly suits him a lot better than Lindelof for my money, too.
Absolutely, if Bailly could just stay fit an cut out the shenanigans he would be the perfect partner for Maguire

The calamity free version of Bailly suits everyone on our team, because he is pretty good.

He did quite well today.

Maguire is a good defender not in the level of the elite ones but no one in the premier league is there at the moment. The fact that AWB is underperforming says a lot about our defensive coaching. We lack that.

He's put in some good performances for a while now. He's just so steady and plays every minute of every game without really needing a break. Very pleased with his work this season despite the rough start.

One of my biggest pet-peeves in football is when a player doesn't try and keep the ball in play but opts for a throw in. Its such a momentum killer and actually robs you of time and space. Theres a moment AWB let the ball go for a throw in instead of keeping it in and we lost the ball in the throw in anyway.

I say all that to say I am so glad Maguire kept the ball in play and ball Bruno the time to pay the pass to Rashford...

He put in an excellent 8 out of 10 performance yesterday. But he cost £80m a couple of seasons ago, so that automatically downgrades him to 5 out of 10.

Since his sending off for England he's been imperious.

Don't get me started on when that happens ffs . And yeah same, I was shouting at the screen when AWB let a ball like that go in the second half.

Is frankly ridiculous the amount of abuse he gets from fans.

Just imagine if tomorrow he is injured and out for 3 months. Forget about the title, we will be wondering if we could make 4th place.

Fortunately he has an excellent injury record. I'm not too worried about that. If this was Phil Jones/Rojo I'd be shitting myself right now. Some kid could run past them and they'll be out for 4 months.

He has missed a total of 16 P.L matches over the last 4.5 seasons

Or to put it like this - since becoming a regular at Sheffield United in 2011/2012 he has missed a total of 76 matches - and about 30 of those were during the season of 14/15 where he wasnt a regular (not injured) in Hulls first season in the P.L
So apart from that season he has missed a total of 45 matches due to not being good enough, being injured or suspended - in 10 years.

Now that is consistency.

Well - the good news is, tomorrow we could actually sign a replacement :) Would be worse if it happened february 1st

Good game even if it was tougher than normal for him in the air (won 4, lost 4 aerials). Worried now when he has four yellow, next one and he’s suspended. With Lindelof out that means Tuanzebe/Bailly. Could be interesting to try but not so sure it will work so well.

Got flustered by Grealish at one point but that happened to nearly all of our defensive players tonight, other than that he was very composed and looks much more comfortable with Bailly next to him.

The best ball playing CB in the league right now. Play Bailly next to him and you will see we have a great pairing there. Best defences are judged as a unit, so it's harsh to blame him sometimes when he's got a train wreck of a defender like Lindelof next to him. Let's hope Bailly can stay fit and perhaps chunk enough money at another centre half who can stay fit.

PLaying almost every game and every game this year for us is actually quite incredible and underrated kind of asset. 80m looked way too much at the time but I am sure over time he will have proved his worth the same way Van Dijk proved his. If Ole or whoever's at the wheel build a good team around him.

He is currently second on the list of the most successful ball carriers in the PL. Second only to Jack Grealish.

For me the biggest positive with him is that he is available all the time . It's impossible to build any sort of defence if your players are injured all the time. Has to be careful in the next few league games now because he is a yellow away from a suspension. Would be terrible to lose him for Anfield so has to be sensible against Burnley

our best centre back.

take him out of the team and there'd be a big gaping hole.

Terrible misplaced pass to Fred on a dangerous area and soft bad defending against Mings who almost scored. Slow and late to close down Traore too but that's more on Shaw.
