Why did they let them retake the corner? Werner shat the bed and kicked the flag but the ball was kicked and went to another player.

You don’t know that Klopp wouldn’t have got him peaking. Jota to Chelsea could have looked just as poor.

I wouldn’t write Werner off, either. I suspect come next season he’ll have a world class manager with him at Chelsea, he could be a different animal 6-12 months down the line
Maybe but we can only judge Werner on what he’s offering at Chelsea. Would’ve been interesting to see where Klopp would’ve played him. Probably as a number 9 instead of Firmino.

Man, watching Werner play the no 9 role, Tony is way better. Nagelsmann deserves massive praise for making Werner look like a footballer. German Dan James.

Probably City's best performance this season but some players still need to do better - mainly Bernardo and Sterling. Also Cancelo had few brainfarts today.

This! City wont get this amount of space against anyone else. Chelsea were delusional thinking they were going to play toe to toe. Just counter City with your fast attackers and you win. Imagine trying to play possession football with kante in the middle.
This for the most part has not been true this season

@padr81 is it right that Aguero hasn’t scored a league goal since January 2020?
Yup in fairness he's had about 4 starts all while crocked in 2020. I think he's scored 1 goal in all comps in the last 10 months, when he came on as a sub a couple of weeks ago before he got crocked again. He had 16 in 24 before last January then he done his knee and has been out since. Says he has 2 goals in 8 apps this season but I only recall the one.

He'll be off in the summer, will still score goals where he goes but he's not able for the rigors of the PL anymore. I should add, not that he won't score, just that he'll constantly break down.

The postponement of the previous City game worked in their favour. I bet many coaches would have preferred to have that privilege.
They may get their chance sooner rather than later with how rapidly the virus is spreading right now.

City looked very good. Agreed they won’t have this space against others but with their depth I would say they have better chance than Pool (and probably us maybe). I keep thinking stubborn Klopp is gonna run them into the ground physically.

Yeah seems like he’s getting on a bit and injuries are catching up. He’s been phenomenal for you. One of the Premier League’s best ever. I won’t miss him scoring against us every time we play you at the Etihad.

Worst outcome, Chelsea didn't even tire City. Hopefully the semi final will be a much more competitive game.

For sure, he's always been injury prone, think it comes from super short hamstrings or something. One of those things that can't be fixed and add in the wear and tear of many years in the PL and playing top level football since 17 and I think the recoveries take too long now. For me only Henry comes above him in terms of the PL strikers even though there are arguments for Rooney and Shearer too. His goals per minute will likely never be matched or beaten, even Harry Kane or Salah haven't reached it, which is strange as they score so many more.

Whats interesting is we're at a stage where the club legends are all gone or on the way out now so Pep has to rely on his players (with KDB and Raheem)

It 1000% will be. Ole won't have one player defending the counter from corners or be nearly as naive. Plus you guys if you play your best XI are currently above Chelsea quality wise.
