    Good summary

I just dont understand why he is mostly used as an attacking midfielder when his relatively low risk but polished game seems better suited to playing deeper
His passing range is limited in that role, especially in a style like Utd where a midfielder needs to be able to open the play up. Talented player but maybe too systematic in his coaching development for Utd.

United are a few players off having an absolutely ridiculous squad.

Imagine this team with a RW, CDM (that doesn't lose the ball and is tidy) and a CB.

This team would be unbelievable, really good signs from United no matter how the game goes, happy with the progress under Ole.
Add Thiago into this team for Scott, a proper striker and a CB and we will be deadly.

Rashford looks on fire. Superb pass for greenwoods goal. Every time he gets the ball wide left he looks a big threat running at Liverpools defence. .
    Shaws been superb.. again
pogba doing ok but lost possession in dangerous areas 3 times.
VDB quiet game but nice pass out to release rash for the goal. Making pass. i do feel he needs to show bit more energy though or BRUNO will be on.

It’s good to see Shaw back on form. Except for the goal, he had great first half.

Mostly because he’s on the left with Shaw. Why we need Sancho, I feel. Grealish would want that spot and Rashford would be shoved back to the right.
we need halaand more: did you see his finishes on friday night? and he can head the ball!

He should be disqualified after the game I think, it is unsportsmanlike
Is that an actual rule? I swear I read sometime that a player was yellow carded cause he was screaming to the opposition to pass it to him while making himself seem like he's on their team or something ridiculous like that.

Stop overrating him. He hasn't been that visible. Rashford and Shaw have been fantastic, plus you can't overlook the run that he had a full stop on. Outside of the flick on to Shaw, hasn't been too special. He' s clearly an attacker though and his flick and one two's are deadly. I really would like to see him on the right at some point.
Nah he’s been good. Not spectacular but amongst our best players after Shaw, Rashy and probably Pogba. VdB played the pass that made the goal, has constantly made runs, could have had a peno and generally been good around the oppo box.

Either you’re unintentionally biased (there is a big anti VdB cult on here) or your standards are just unrealistic.

Why wasn't there a yellow for the tackle on Pogba on the edge of the box before Mason's goal and the 1-on-1 with Rashford/Thiago?!

Disagree, I think 90% of our issues in that half was McTominay not being press resistant. He wasn’t shocking but was our worst player. Pogba has been sensational
McT has not been great in possession. It’s given them confidence to press him.

Shaw did well offensively but that goal was purely ball watching. Overall we did well, I think we can win this.

People criticised Maguire's heading ability offensively. Let's be real McTominay & Pogba are suspect for this as well given they have very good height. McTominay only scored two heading goals for us which both came from this season in EFL & FA Cup, majority his goals were long shots, he's also one of the player who wasted lot of heading chances.

The challenge from Fabinho was similar to Shaw vs Burnley except he didn't get the ball at all. if there is debate about Shaw should have got red, this one should have a debate too and this one is worse. Although I think both Shaw & Fabinho were yellow challenge.
The lack of pressure from our midfield was a bigger issue. No way should they be allowed the time and space to get on the ball, look up and casually pick a pass between the lines. It happened way too much in that half.

Luke shaw. Wow. What a player we have here. When he broke his leg I thought that's him done. And in the Jose era, we all thought he would never kick on after the way he was playing.. How wrong were we!?

Nope, should have squared the ball a few minutes before their goal to give us a 1 nil lead while we were on the front foot.
And our defenders should’ve marked their biggest threat and save the need for Greenwood’s goal to be an equaliser.

I’ll be really disappointed if we don’t win this. We look the better side. McTom is a liability and Beek a bit of a passenger.

Either one would be nice — a top tier no.9 or a top tier ball magnet creator to add much needed balance to the right — I personally think Sancho is just slightly more appealing to us because I do think Rashford + Bruno and then Martial/Cavani/Greenwood will bag enough.

Most of us want Ole to take risks, show courage, play kids like Pellistri and Diallo, etc. but when a teenager currently low on confidence and having a difficult season tries to shoot instead of passing in the first few minutes of a game he is getting abuse.
He is so young and his decision making will improve but if a striker can’t try to risk a shot when his starts are limited anyway, then when / how else is he going to score?
    Well said.

Pogba also won possession with a brilliant tackle for our goal.

Also, VDB has been involved in almost every chance we have created. He isn't a maverick like Bruno - but is steadily putting in a performance. Will be good for him if he can get the winner.

Happy enough with that half. I'd say we were the better team apart from a 5-10 minute period in which they got their goal. Don't like to admit it but a very nice pass and finish for that. Oddly Maguire and Lindelof seemed to be swapped around at that moment and a bit lost.

Anyway thankfully we had our own great pass and finish to celebrate not too long later. Rashford and Shaw have been fantastic down the left so no surprises to see the goal created from there. Excellent finish by Greenwood which know he is capable of but we haven't seen enough of this year. Hopefully the goal does wonders for his confidence.

Good watch anyway. We've been creating chances and overall positive. A sharp contrast to the first half last weekend.

Goodness knows. The same ones who scream everytime Bruno gives the ball away and say he is having a stinker.
To be fair, huge swathes of the game passes him by. He hasn't necessarily been poor, and when he does get the ball he's very neat and tidy, but he does play it safe. I think that's all people want to see is a little more risk and invention. He has the ability. It's not just about blindly disliking him or being unfair, you would just like to see more from him that's all.

I've been one of the people who's been shouting for him to start more. I really like the guy.

We improved as the half went on, Shaw and Rashford causing them lots of problems and Mason taking his goal beautifully. McTominay and Pogba had all round decent halves but need to be careful when they have the ball deep, both have been caught in possession by the Liverpool press.

True. One statement does not negate the other. Lindeloff was very weak.
