Martial should be nowhere near this team based not just performances last few games but throughout the season, and if he is it will tell you all you need to know about Ole's management.

We still cannot shut up shop and rely on the defence to carry the team when the attack isn't functioning so unless we can score 2/3 this won't be a win!

We never seem to turn up against them since Ole took over. Maybe we were complacent but today is no excuse for the team. If we turn up and play our A game then win is ours.
Except for the FA Cup game where we turned them over? Last season's league game was going quite comfortably until Axel's brain fart

Ole needs to put out the strongest XI possible, which means starting Cavani and benching Martial.

Has Ole ever cared what the fans think? How often have we been "positive Mc Sauce would be dropped after that last debacle"? Shaw? DeGea? Matic? Don't be surprised if we see Tony start. Ole is stubborn. He trusts and loves who he trusts and loves. Tony will come good. Of course, I said that for years about Phil Jones.
Forget rotation or bring “rested”, if Martial isn’t DROPPED today, I won’t be watching.

Never been angrier at a Utd player in my life.

I feel the same but I think Mr Martial will be dropped today.

We have to go out and kick the absolute bejeesus out of these Ninnie's. Win the physical battle. Get right stuck into them. Weve no aggression

All I know is Martial doesn’t deserve and shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting 11.

Ole however hasn’t got the balls to make big calls like that.

    Bullsh*t

Ole’s gotten rid of deadwood that other managers couldn’t shift for years and loaned out the likes of Lingard because he can see they weren’t good enough.

He may favour Martial, doesn’t mean he hasn’t got the guts to drop him, far from it.

I’ve supported Utd avidly since 1985, followed them home and away, season ticket holder the lot and I’ve never got on a players back no matter what.

This guy disgusts me though, never rated him anyway but just recently everything about him just angers me.

Ole needs to grow a pair and drop him, and not just for today, hopefully bollocking him in the process.

Styles make fights and all that but after that munting performance midweek I have zero expectations from today.

Would love to see a reaction, but nothing I've seen from this group of players tells me they can come up with the goods when it really matters. Top 6 record this season has been appalling, and our performances in semi-finals is massively concerning.

Can see us losing this without so much as a whimper. A comfortable, if unremarkable 2-0 win to Arsenal and then we'll go on another dire run for the next 4-6 weeks before we turn it around again and start another good run of form.

    Rinse, repeat.

And if Martial starts, then Ole deserves whatever criticism that comes his way.

Yeah I haven’t been angrier with a Utd player in my life either.

I’d rather not see him play for us again to be honest.

I tend to agree, but he does seem to lack the balls to haul players off when they’re playing shit and offering nothing. Martial and Bruno 1st half v Sheff Utd prime example.

Also as @McGrathsipan said, we’ve no aggression, why don’t these players look up for it and attach teams from the start?

This is not the Man Utd way and today it has to change, otherwise we’ll lose again and start sliding down the table.

Me neither. I expect players lucky enough to play for United to show some sort of passion and fight. This guy just doesn't look arsed. Never really has.
I'm just surprised he has gotten away with it for so long.

Yeah I agree on that. I think Martial gets a pass because we don’t really have other options when Rashford is already on the pitch. Plus Greenwood has been out of form.

He absolutely needs dropping and like I said I would be happy to never see him play for us again, I’m absolutely done with him.

Hopefully Diallo hits the ground running and gives us another forward option. Then let Martial amble off into the sunset.

Considering Martial was starting against Sheff Utd (and played the whole match to the chagrin of the majority of the fanbase) and Cavani had to be brought on to get a goal, I’m going to say Cavani will starting tonight.

My jaw will fecking drop if he starts in place of Cavani as CF.

bloody hell that's harsh, we've had some atrocious players over the years. Martial is extremely annoying in his demeanour when things aren't going his way though. I don't think Greenwood was any worse in recent games, would prefer him over Martial atm.

    Anyway I don't think Martial starts today/

Well he wasn't in the squad that traveled so not really surprising.

    No sign of Juan Mata
The squad list posted above was of the players we definitely saw arriving at the Emirates.
With the new 9-man subs bench it is typical to have a 21-man squad for a Premier League match, which United do today - although three of those are goalkeepers.
We'll get official confirmation from Solskjaer shortly, but it does look like Mata is missing out altogether.

We need martial for this game so I hope he starts. Nobody else can hold up the ball like him in attack.

Comfortable win for Arsenal today, we’re looking tired at the moment, drop in form and results was inevitable.

Shame it looks like it's Lindelof and Maguire at the back, but not surprised.

Martial not starting is correct and justified obviously.

    Team hasn't eased my nerves.

Arsenal will change their formation I'll bet. We've looked vulnerable when having to make the play rather than counter;we simply don't like teams setting up defensively and we don't have the patience to keep ball. There's always a Hollywood pass in us and that leads to counters from the opposition.

I'm not so much worried about which personnel we choose, but what role they play. Need to be disciplined. If that means Fred playing deeper and marshalling the midfield to stop ESR or Saka making runs then so be it. Arsenal don't like it when teams come and bore them for long periods:Villa,Wolves,Burnley all did that and got a result. I don't see why we have to go there and try and 'entertain.' Three points is all that matters
The bolder part boils my blood so often. Even Bruno for as amazing as he’s been, loses possession way too often.

Anyone else getting tired of sacrificing an attacker in big games?

McFred has not been working this season in the big games

It hasn't worked once this season.

Just play Paul in the middle and Greenwood.
