Another lacklustre performance from Spurs. And a bad result to lose away to Brighton. Not good enough by a long way.

Leicester, Spurs and Everton all losing winnable games. Poor weekend for a few of the chasing pack. Great weekend for Chelsea and Villa.

If you view our season from a top 4 viewpoint then we have done incredibly well after an understandably bad start. Its not perfect but be honest none of us thought we were winning the League this season after previous years. Lets hope we can increase our points total and solidify our place in top 4, then get the right players in and get in a situation to properly challenge.

Brighton fully deserved that win. It reminded me of United v Brighton away when Jose was manager.

Solidifying a top 3 finish and a trophy would be a great season for you I reckon.

Hope we do the business on Tuesday and then I will enjoy Spurs/Chelsea on Wednesday. That's if Jose hasn't exploded by then.

This is the perfect time for teams like Southampton, Leeds, Everton and maybe Aston Villa to make investments in the summer. There seems to be open race for 4th spot as both Arsenal and Tottenham look on the way down.

For some reason Arsenal always seem a nice proposition for players, especially from abroad, so think they will get better.

With time to digest our last two results, we're not doing too badly I guess. Another top 4 slog, which was probably the expectation at the start of the season after a poor transfer window, remains but we look on course for that at least. It's just a shame we couldn't sustain a title challenge for longer than a week but we probably wouldn't have won it anyway and I guess we can thank feck for City being so good cos otherwise Liverpool would be getting #21. I still think we'll need a lot better than Ole at the wheel to get where we want to be but I don't know who we can turn to in this current situation.

With Spurs losing we have actually extended our lead over 5th spot.

The weekend could have been worse. I always expected City to catch us and think it could be close with us and Liverpool given their injuries for 2nd and 3rd.

Everton, Leicester and Spurs all losing winnable games this weekend brings a bit of joy for us in the top 4 race, at least. Spurs Vs Chelsea on Thursday and Liverpool Vs City next weekend, hopefully we get two wins from Southampton and Everton. Both decent sides and both are home games so it won’t be easy.

A draw is the only good result there, really.
Yeah that would definitely be the ideal result and certainly didn't want the scousers just brushing aside Spurs & West Ham with such ease but then with sacked Utd managers in charge why am I not surprised. I want Liverpool to have fire in their bellies against City next Sun but just would rather they weren't only a point behind us going into the match. We certainly don't want to give either of them any extra impetus by dropping points against Saints/Everton too.

All in all, results went largely our way. Spurs, West Ham, Leicester, Everton, Arsenal all dropping points.

We are in a good position to try now to go on another winning run, try to keep up with City & see where it take us.

I've never thought we were good enough to compete with City, not yet. But to keep with them or close to them would effectively secure top 4 without really concerning ourselves with a top 4 race, which is a stride forward on last season.
