They sniggered at us signing him. Called him an old man.

He’s fit as a fiddle and a proper, top class Nr 9

He needs to start every game when fit and I think it's clear a contract extension is deserved.

Until Savage mentioned it in comms I hadn’t made the link in my head that he’s only the same age as Vardy

‘If they knew they wanted him, why didn’t they sign him in July when he was available for months?’

Far better striker than Greenwood, Rashford or Martial.

Incredible how little he's offside. Everything is for the team and every touch is an attempt at creating space. Hes just so naturally gifted at the role.

Had a couple pretty bad miskicks lately. Was starting to think we'd broken yet another striker.

Absolutely adore his work rate and movement.

Genuinely no disrespect to Martial or Greenwood, but what Cavani is really doing is showing how much we need a proper #9.

Wasn’t he put a lot of last season? So had more of a normal preseason than most. That and his fantastic athleticism anyway have really helped him

He's great. Even when he's not scoring, he just never stops.

He's not the fastest, but he looks incredibly fit, his running is constant. Must be a nightmare to play against.

Consummate professional. All he wants to do is make runs and score goals.

Oh my I could only imagine what it would have been like if we had got him 5/6 years ago, wasted in the french league! His dropping off, collecting second balls, his runs into space, and the goal to cap it off! Pure Class!

I just hope that fans will return to the stadium while he's with us.

Brilliant signing. Only reason he was in and out until recently was because he hadn't trained for so long and then got covid so it took him a while to get match fit, and then the suspension... He's easily first choice and we're a completely different side with him up top. Doesn't look 33 at all, can easily keep up this level for next season as well (which is why IMO striker is not really a need this summer).

He's like a Duracell bunny. Never stops running and fighting, such an important figure in our press from the front. A brilliant signing.

This is how I always justified that he should be playing more. We spoke of him on the caf like he constantly needed restin like he was 40 years old
Vardy is a bit of a freak though. Cavani has actually had quite a lot of injuries over the last 3 seasons, which is why a lot of people suggested exercising caution.

He certainly looks as fit as a fiddle though.

That first half was outstanding from Cavani. He could have scored five or more if we had left him on the pitch.

I hope he can stay fit and keep this up, he's been an excellent signing.
