Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
The ridiculous thing was that it wasn't even the top score in my league.
Our leader scored 144, and beat me by Darlow of all bastads saving from whichever Villa player it was at 93:40, to get 1 more save point! Genuinely couldn't believe it.

I think I'm only top 94,000 to be honest.

The days of coming top 10,000 for 4 years in a row 2008-2012 would take almost miraculous efforts these days with so many playing!
Only? :)

Couple of hundred thousand places better than me (and that's after a good few weeks).

7th of 38, guy who's top is top 34k but had a bad week. Was top 26k two weeks ago. Can't see me catching him now.

What'd you do with this? Got 2 transfers and £0.4m.

Bednarek is the obvious one, get a Burnley defender in. Mee or Lowton and save money to get a better sub goalie ready for BB chip.

Anything else?

Need a Bamford hatrick to save the week
Most people have him so you won't go up too much regardless.

fecking Chilwell. Needed him the last two weeks, didn't play. Needed him to not play this week, plays. Then concedes. Then gets subbed off.

Glad I've got rid of him now.

That's the second time I've seen someone say this about someone, after Gundo earlier.
And it's totally not true.

Gundo is 22.2% owned, and even Bamford isn't even 50%, so most people do not actually own him, it's less than half.

Maybe people in your league have him. but it won't be the case in all leagues.

I'm in a league of 81, and it's dead on 50% coverage in the top 8.

The only players in the whole game you can accurately say that "most" have him are Bruno 59%, Son, 55.3%
I took out Bamford for DCL two games ago after he didn't score for 4 games and DCL had Newcastle at home. DCL blanked and Bamford got 15pts.

Lots of people did this too and it backfired massively. It's detailed me a lot as I bleeding benched DCL too this week.

At least most people have Gundo so it's not all that bad.

We need to talk about your definition of "most"

Gundo is actually 22.2% owned and Bamford is 49.9%.
So most people in fact, do NOT own them.

The only two players in the game that most do actually own, are Bruno on 59% and Son 55.3%

In my 81 team league, our top 8 is a dead 50-50 split.

So to conclude, roll on the Bamford haul :)

I think you call the Burnley coverage spot on. Needs to be a defender as you won't want to lose Martinez.

The difficulty is that you probably want DCL for his double, but will need Kane back for a very likely week 26 double, and you've probably stuck with Kane until now, so it'd be annoying to then bin him just as he's fit and firing again. But City away, versus DCL also having City, but with Fulham at home is a tough move to pass up.

Depends how much value you have in Kane.

You've got a really difficult benching issue most weeks there like me as well!

Over the moon with the decision to transfer Rudiger in this week. All my defenders crapped out apart from Shaw, who got a towering three points (Martinez saved the day back there). Not sure what my next plays will be, think I'll roll the transfer over as nothing needs immediate ammendment. Back to Kane soon.

It's weird how much some people obsess over FPL. Happy that these guys found something to keep them busy and their head above water, but feck thinking about it that much.

How is it even that time devouring?

I've seen the opposite of this on that sub too, where people can't function because of FPL, and it's actually causing a lot of problems. Wild shit.

Thanks.

Think I just do Burnley sub and roll transfer on.

Martinez
Stones, Dias, Burnley defender
My 5 midfielders
Kane and Watkins

DCL has a double but the City one is tough... even if I picked DCL, doubt I'd drop Watkins (V Brighton) and hard to leave Kane out (chances, pen taker)?

As you say, nice to have options?

Sorry I'm just going off my MLs, people here and on Reddit.

A lot of people in the top 10k also appear to have these two.

But I have then too so I'm not going to complain about those goals!

I read these too. Find it strange but if it makes them happy so be it.

For me, it's a fun way to gamble without actually gambling. It also gives random matches like West Ham vs. Fulham more interest for me. Without FPL, I wouldn't even bother checking scores for games like that.

With that said, 90% of the time, the game infuriates me as things like my rival getting 15 points off a player that was third on his bench just does my head in

it's all fun but if it stops someone from functioning properly on real life, they really should stop.

Yeah this is it for me, and it gives me and my mates more things to have banter about, and the banter is more fun than with our teams, where it can be more passionate.

Can also spice up work convo a bit and get some fun rivalries going there.

If I ever felt like it was having too much of a negative effect on me I feel like I’d easily be able to say “feck this”. Not like it brings any positive side at all at that point, like most vices would in a way (winning money/feeling better etc.)

Kane and Vardy coming back earlier than I thought makes me think of using my wildcard after the the City/ Everton/Fulham /Burnley double game week.

DCL and Chilwell [14 points] to come off the bench for Pulisic [who is next on my chopping block] and Walker-Peters. Bamford yet to play. Despite the 4 point hit, I'll likely move up to 3rd but still lose more ground on the top 2 in my league.

Wasted my captaincy on Vardy. Fully intended to have Bruno as captain when I transferred Kane out but it slipped my mind.

Those two and KDB being out have definitely made it easier to get a really good all round balanced team. Without the threat of being stung.

Huge game changers having those two back.

Yep the percentage amongst higher ranked players will surely be higher.
I bet some benched Gundo at Anfield though. Hard game in theory, goal threat had dropped off. Big hitters injured so riding with a stronger squad.
Thank goodness not to be in that gang!
Now roll on Bamford
I've a 32 point gap to top in my league and could do with him eating into it.

I love it when the big hitters are injured or in poor form. As you say, you can have a really solid team without the worry of missing out on 30+ points from KDB or Salah. I have gotten some solid use out of Maddison, Bamford, Soucek and at times Mount.

I've surged up my league because I've managed to get a consistent solid haul from different players while others in my league have kept Salah who hasn't really had an explosive week since that time he went nuts when he came off the bench.

I just trasfered in Foden for the DGW. He certainly is still a part of the Pep roulette, but i hope his performances of the last weeks make him one of the first names on the teamsheet for the next two games.

So my team for the DGW as it stands:

Martinez
Cancelo Shaw Cresswell Lowton
Foden Fernandes(C) Son Salah Rashford
DCL

I think i will do fine with this.

Yeah hard to look past Bruno as captain this week despite the doubles. Probably gonna go with

Areola
Dias Cancelo Digne Mee
Cresswell
Bruno (c) Rashford Gundogan
Antonio DCL

subs : Martinez, Watkins, Son, Soucek

Players in bold have doubles.

Rolling the transfer to bring in Raphina and Bamford if they double in 25 as expected (for Soucek and Antonio)

Money in the bank for Kane to come in if Spurs get a juicy double in 26 and TC him.

KDB, Gundogan and Dias are the only 3 City players I'd buy with any confidence of them starting and playing 90 minutes. This is what makes selling Salah (for this week only) and bringing in Foden such a big risk.
Sterling surely more safe than a KdB returning from injury?

Captaincy is an interesting one.

Gundo DCL or Bruno the debate.

If Gundo plays twice and doesn't concede, that's 12 points already. Bruno needs an assist to match that.
If Gundo does anything on top he could really haul and it could take a couple from Bruno to match it.

Dcl is in form and has Fulham home. But also City. So he's probably a riskier choice.

Martinez
Shaw Stones Cancelo
Son Bruno Maddison Gundo
Antonio DCL Watkins

Bench: Salah, Justin, Mitchell

Should i bench salah this week? With kane back, son will get points again.
Also, if i have the extra cash, should i upgrade stone to Dias as he usually is not rotated?

Captain pick unclear too. Usually i'd go with Bruno but double gameweeks for DCL and Gundo could change that.

FFS Soucek red card rescinded. Another final stressy benching headache week it is then. Will probably put him in for Cresswell as a final hurrah.

Really? Well I don't give a feck! Threw this clown out last week and he's joined Callum Wilson and Aubamayang in my "never touch with a barge pole" list.

Any news on doubles past the Leeds ones yet? I think I’m actually going to roll my transfer for the FIRST TIME this season! It’s bloody February!

I don’t really fancy any of the players I don’t have already with the doubles this week. Coufal having an easy fixture means that there’s not much point wasting a transfer on a Fulham or Burnley defender.

I think winners of fa cup ties this midweek will have their week 29 game moved to a double in week 26.
