He didn't score a league goal for Chelsea? Wow. I do wonder how long he will play for, will he burn out early considering how young he started.

Two goals, but his assist was the best thing he did all game. This is what he should be doing all the time, use his strength and speed rather than try and be fancy.

This when I think he's the most dangerous. He's a freight train but he never really does it often enough.

Yep. He's incredibly quick once he gets going and very strong. He's definitely better suited with space to run into especially coming from the right channel.

Because his ball control is very poor at times.
Tried to do it in the 1st half and this happened

Yeah that was quality. He has some great qualities for the wing. He could put in a wicked cross, surprisingly, and can burn past players. It's awareness, first touch, strength when not on the run (even more surprisingly) and straight up technique that let him down. But then as giflord says, he'd still be limited there with his ball control issues as well. He'd end up tripping over the ball even more.

His crossing was always pretty good from out wide too. I seem to remember a lot of his best work for us coming when he was being played into those spaces down the sides, as opposed to being bizarrely used as a target man.

Yeah that's his problem, he's technically poor which is a shame because he could physically dominate any centre back.

See his dribbling was perfect here. He knew when to take a stronger touch to finally power his way past the Lazio CB utilizing another one of his main attributes : pace and set up his teammate yet this, as demonstrated above, happens not as consistently because he thrives on space.

Congratulations to him on a great achievement. He'll score many more goals in the future as well.

Just one post today?

Interesting.
People miss him with martial and Cavani being poor and Lukaku smashing it so feel upset.

Although with Lukaku not performing in the big games I am not sure he would have made much difference this season under Ole.

I just wished we had spunked the Lukkaku money on a top striker instead of Maguire.

Who?

they’re all amazing forwards.
They've all won major trophies and are all far more skillfull than Lukkaku ever was at that same age. Still he's a good poacher and flattrack bully.

Someone change the thread title. It's so long it looks horrible with the format and it's about old shit anyway.

In addition to his goal (it was the third goal in a 0-3 win so will likely be dismissed as ‘stat padding’ by some) - he set up Lautaro’s goal (which was the game’s opening goal) quite brilliantly.

I thought the same thing

The desperate calvary of Lukaku haters that seem to track his every move are all of a sudden nowhere to be found. His team is top of the league and he's the top scorer in Serie A just ahead of Ronaldo but reading through this thread you would think he was having a Werner/Martial type of season.

I'm happy for the lad and also happy he got to stick it to Ibra today.
