He’s so unbelievably efficient that it basically makes him the most valuable player in world football. You can have good dribblers and passers and tacklers, but players like him are the hardest to find.

Obviously loves the space he gets on the counter, but his hold-up play and technique is very good too.

Ole was in no way as secure in his job a year ago, and when he’s not feeling any love or courtship from the club overall... if we go all in as a club it might be different.
Perhaps. What's the mood in Norway? Do people not expect him to go conquer the world at Real / Barca / City ?

Fans in Norway hope he goes to either Liverpool or Manchester United, the two huge supporter groups here (there are supporter groups for all other clubs as well, but the traditional two are by far the biggest). City does not have a meaningful standing here, perhaps more now with kids.

Real Madrid aren't exactly in high standing here after the treatment of Ødegaard, and Barcelona is a dumpster fire happening in front of our eyes.

Personally I hope that the club throws the sink and Ed's Bentley at him. Can you imagine upgrading Martial with Haaland.

Nobody knows. But it’s no secret that Haaland grew up loving the Premier League, like most football fans here. Then again, how often does the heart rule a footballer’s career? We would either have to step up or he would have to believe that he’s the missing piece of our puzzle to come to United, though.

If he joined Real Madrid he wouldn't get the Ødegaard treatment even if Zidane favors Benzema Florentino would make him start Haaland or that's what I think. In terms of scoring ability we could, finally, replace Ronaldo but I can understand the feeling and uncertainty judging by the way Ødegaard has been handled. Barcelona don't look so hot lately but I think they should also be trying to sign him if they do end up losing Messi. He is currently at a very good club right now mind you so he has time to evaluate his options and see how teams develop for the next season.

Can actually see him going to Bayern next year as Lewandowski's successor. Bayern couldn't dream of a better replacement anyway.
Both Man City and Man Utd have opening for CF. I can't see him go else where if he decides to leave BVB. I doubt he will leave this summer anyway.

Makes sense. For the moment Real and Barca aren't looking great, but I'd expect at least Real to get their house in relative order in a year's time. They may prefer Mbappe though (I would too). At least his dad played for City, and that was when they were completely irrelevant. They could pay the same, offer him the same #9 spot, whilst having a far superior manager, club structure and chance of winning trophies. I'd worry he'd choose them over us, if given the choice.

For any seriously ambitious footballer (who is also top class) we'd have to really be persuasive. When did we last convince a top player to join us over another top club?

I'm not trying to be all negative here, just realistic. If it were only us, like last summer with Sancho, it'd be different. We shall see. At least Ole loves him and uncharacteristically talks about him in his press conferences.

We have seen how it worked out with Bale and I think Haaland's agent is smart enough to know how young players developed under Zidane so far.

He’s got City written all over him lads.

Don’t do it to yourselves, it’s the hope that kills.

Sancho should receive the brunt of our realistic muppetry.

I’m afraid he’s a pipe dream for us. Bayern would be the obvious next move unless Man City blow everyone out the water with a £150 million + approach. That lad is a natural born goal scorer.

Will suck if after years of having Aguero leading their line City manage to replace him with Halaand. Make them make do with Jesus for a few years, dammit.

Based on what he and his dad have said so far I believe he likes to "taste" different leagues and clubs like CR7 and Ibra.

As per MU - don't want him because of release clause
As per Haaland's Dad, Agent, and himself - they picked BVB for his development.

believe whatever you like to hear.

How much is his release fee next season? Give them double for the inconvenience. Throw in Rashford as a kicker.

He may insert a low release clause in his contract. for what i remembered he always has this clause in his contract.

For all his power, pace, shooting technique, etc., his mental attributes bring it all together. Tons of confidence, doesn't seem to feel any pressure, relishes in physical duels, quick grasp of situations, ice-cold and focused in front of goal.

How much you recon Dortmund would ask for him?
Too much. Dortmund need money, but selling Sancho for 70m would do. I think there is a very little chance they will sell their best two players in one window, after all, Dortmund have ambitions on their own and want rid of their reputation as a selling club.

Those aren't mutually exclusive though, are they? Ole wanted Haaland, and him and his crew were open to him coming here. However, with Ole's future at United being far from secure at the time, the club giving off the impression that they weren't really all that interested, combined with refusing a release clause, meant there was simply far too much room for things to go wrong here.

Why would they pay nearly £100m over his release clause?

Fastest player to 20 CL goals in CL history: Harry Kane - he did it in 25 games

Haaland after 990 minutes of CL football (13 games) - 18 goals and 2 assists

I think he might have a shot at it....ridiculous!

it’s crazy to think in hindsight so many (myself included) weren’t fussed we didn’t get him because “we have martial”

it’s almost reached “we have Cleverley” (for not getting Sneijder in 2011) levels of ridiculousness.
