I'm typically not a fan of buying early access games, but from what I've seen/read/heard, I had to give this game a try.

Summary: it's an open-world survival game with a Norse theme. You drop into a world where your goal is to defeat a bunch of boss creatures. To get to that point, however, you'll need to build yourself up. In short, this game has a sophisticated crafting system that allows you build some extravagant structures, a combat system that's akin to the Souls games (parries, rolls), and a simple skill levelling system that's akin to Skyrim (i.e. use the skill to develop it). The game is not necessarily super casual, though; the enemies can get tough, and the game has a health/stamina system that's dependent on the food/drink that you consume.

The visuals are stunning even if the graphics aren't top notch. However, the game isn't fully optimised yet, so there will be spells where even a high-end computer can't stay above 60 FPS. However, this game is friendly with low-end computers, which makes the game way more accessible.

Honestly, I've enjoyed this a ton. Be prepared to sink a ton of your time into this game.

If I wasn't back into 7 Days To Die on another mod right now I'd be mad for this. It looks phenomenal and right up my street. Reviews are overwhelming positive, which is pretty rare.

Do consider that the game is in early access and is constantly being worked on. This isn't even the final product!

I know. I've been following it and watched Games4kickz playing on it. I really want to play it but I got a new Oculus Quest 2 a few weeks ago and am playing Undead Legacy on 7D2D, so I don't have the time. I need to be able to pause time so that I can play all the games I haven't played yet

I usually don't buy games on impulse. I had read nothing about this game and it popped up in my Steam feed. I looked at the overwhelmingly positive review status and the fact it was the type of game I enjoy and so I purchased. I cannot put it down. It is absolutely fantastic. Easily the best survival craft build type game I have played. It is truly shocking that despite this being only early access it is this good. I cannot recommend this game highly enough. Have already got some friends onboard and will be playing a Co-Op this Saturday morning. It's a really special game.

We got the Oculus Quest 2 about 2 weeks ago. Just bought 'The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.' We are going to play it over the weekend. It looks really good. Should be a laugh. Just hoping it doesn't make me feel a little sick. It's one draw back I get from VR. The Quest 2 is so much better than the Cv1

Yeah, I've been queasy myself. Played that Warplanes of WW1 one and, omg, it nearly knocked me sick with the G-forces

Ive got one too not had a lot of time with it yet but it does seem massively better than my PSVR.

Thanks gents.
It gets a bit laggy any more than 6 or so though, and the memory leaks get pretty bad. Though they are aware and are constantly trying to fix it.

If you go 10, you really have to plan your town to suit as stuff that uses particles (such as fireplaces) still has culling issues, and every time you modify the ground there's a leak there. All in all it's very manageable though, and they will fix along the way.

Been watching shroud play this game the last few days and the Plains have given him PTSD.

The Plains are a significant difficulty spike, and the difficulty remains even after upgrading on the weapons & armour. The other biomes tend to get somewhat easy over time, but I'm glad that the Plains remains a difficult biome, especially since the rewards are worth the risk.

During the day they are fine, though obviously not before mid-game. The problem becomes at night or if you forget to eat. (Or your name is Redsky the Ogre and you have no concept of sound/sight/direction).

Though there's really not a whole lot of point in them right now past the first few times you make it through. You get some good stuff initially, but they are pretty empty and very easy to farm the best stuff from the Goblins if you take it slow. As Maz says though, they remain tough if you get complacent. I'd argue the mountains can be worse at night as the trash fighting on even the slightest of gradients

Started playing this again after the Hearth and Home update. It feels like they overhyped the update a but. It's more of an addon than anything with a few extra items you can make. Not complaining mind you. The game is a lot of fun but I think it's more fun if you play multi player

Yeah, it's a pretty mediocre update. Got some good quality of life changes, but not really enough content to warrant a 2nd play through.

The Caf group that played it in discord are pretty much in agreement that we'll wait for the next update before we piss around with it again.
