Joey Barton. Just a prick who randomly decided he was smarter than everyone else at one point

If we don't include convicted sex offenders like Johnson and Robinho, I'll have to agree with Joey Barton. His tough-guy act got boring long before he retired, and continued into management. Let's ignore the fact that all three played for City.

God Martin Keown, good shout. I'll never forget his face jumping all over Ruud after he missed that penalty.

Agree with Barton. Just a detestable cnut. Directly contributed to "Aguerooooo" by getting sent off in the most stupid fecking way.

Listen to the cockwart justify it...

I know he’s a legend as a player but Giggs has to be up there for obvious reasons.

Alonso is probably No1.

Generally dislikeable: Danny Mills, Danny Tiatto, Bellamy, Suarez, Wise, Terry, Noble, Big Sam, Bowyer, Di Maria, Busquets

For me Dejan Lovren. Always dirty. And i swear it went under the radar in that semi final between england and croatia that he committed about 6 bookable offences without getting a single yellow card.

El Hadji Diouf.

Somehow even a bigger cnut off the pitch than he was on it. Spat on multiple players and fans as well as racial abuse of a ball boy. Managed to be hated by half the teams he’s played for too.

The players with no redeeming qualities at all, who seek to injure their fellow professionals

Looking at your Ben Thatchers, Michael Balls, Michael Browns here

Sergio Ramos.

What he did to Salah is the most despicable thing I've ever seen done by a player during a game.

Three broken teeth. Damaged vertebrae. Cracked ribs. Half an hour unconscious.

And not even a free kick.

Toni Schumacher said he'd never felt so much hatred before. And I was one of the haters at the time. Because that French team was a true joy to watch.

Thankfully Battiston recovered, but Le Bleus didn't reach the World Cup final of 82, that had France written all over it.

Saurez by a light year. Cheating sob and he bites people. Costa a close second.

Think Tevez and Owen are up there. Takes a special kind of cnut to be hated by both Manchester clubs (Tevez) and United/Pool (Owen).

Matter of fact, thinking about it, Owen is probably hated by all 3.

Stick that in your brochure you cnut.

Giggs, what he has done to his own brother for 8 years makes Suarez, Costa, Ramos, Busquets, Neymar or even Barton look like saints.

This.

A lot of folk up here would suggest Scott Brown because he has the really classless habit of repeatedly celebrating goals in front of other players' faces.

Pepe, Suarez, Costa, Shelvey. Players that regularly set out to genuinely hurt their opponents but go down like they've been shot when anybody gives it back to them.

Barton's just the village idiot. I find it hard to really dislike him.

Other club fans would say Roy Keane.
Was going to name him. I absolutely despised him after I read how he deliberately injured another player that seriously.

Pepe also comes to mind.

Brown is a bit of a prick but the sort you’d want in your side.

Shelvey is a horrible prick.

Luis Suárez for me.

It has to be a very high-profile player if we're talking about an all-time status — and he certainly is (unlike many of the thugs that only went on the pitch to injure others, even though they've probably did more despicable things than Suárez did). The sheer variety of his cnutishness is impressive. He really has it all — racism, multiple biting incidents (I mean, it's hard to imagine it happening once, but thrice?! Especially if we choose to believe into theories on him using it as a leverage for a transfer out), countless diving and, more importantly, horrible tackles (often followed by a theatrical "injury" to distract a referee) that were strictly targeting players and not the ball... And, of course, you can add the Ghana penalty incident as well — something that in isolation could've been considered as an act of selfless heroics for your team, but since it's Suárez, it's going straight into the "horrible" pile. Playing for Liverpool is the cherry on top.

I have weird feelings towards Giggs — not because I'm taking his side in any way, but because those whole shenanigans came up after his retirement, so it associates to me with Giggs as a football persona and not as a player. I'm also a bit confused as to should we count completely non-football related stuff when we're talking about footballers — be it Giggs' adultery or Alonso's car crash... although I know that they certainly influence my opinion on them.

Steven Gerrard!

He always has a little dig at Utd when given the opportunity.

Liverpool were going to win the PL one day.....so glad he didn't get his hands on the trophy.

He was a wonderful captain for us but for me I dont like his personality that much either. I'd get hated for saying that as a United supporter but who cares and neither am I saying that my opinion is right. I'm someone that doesn't even particularly like his interviews that much either.

Really hated Tevez at the time though that has worn off in recent years, Suarez is still a hungry little rodent.

These days it’s probably Robertson, good player, dirty cnut.
