Always loved the first movie. Second was meh, as everyone says.

I just really hope they keep it as realistic as possible, which means Sub Zero is by far the best character

The original is on Amazon Prime I noticed, watching it now. It’s still great.

I always hated Annihilation. The costumes alone were terrible compared to the first and I’m pretty sure the ‘actors’ were all just porn stars.

Still, I’m definitely going to watch that too if it’s on Prime.

Unfortunately it is not. I watched the first one a couple of nights ago before the trailer for the new one dropped, but Annihilation isn't there :(

All the episodes of Mortal Kombat Legacy are on YouTube if anyone hasn't seen them. Good fun.

If it does well I'm half expecting another Street Fighter movie.
I would love this to happen but done well and none of that goofy crap like the Van Dam version.

I would also love to see a good Tekken movie. I didn't mind the Tekken movie from 2009 but would love a big-budget version.

So what's everyone's preference out of MK vs SF?

I see the general opinion is people prefer street fighter but I just can't get my head around that.
MK has so much more lore and potential around it, although it has gotten weird the last few instalments from what I've read.

In saying that, these type of games worked so much better in 2D

SF for me. MK had better designed characters but the fighting was just button smashing.

I prefer Tekken over both, but would rather MK over SF easily.

We’re talking game or movie?

Game: SF > MK (I’m talking the very first SF I played at arcades)

movie: MK1 > SF > MK2 > SF2 (I’m sure there was actually a SF2 . Legend of Chung Ali - starring my ex teen crush: Kristen Kreuk

Mortal Kombat X and 11 are brilliant IMO

This film is going to be bad and enjoyable, a bit like some of the Resident Evil movies. Sometimes on a Friday night after a hard week and a couple of beers you just want something mindless.

 Same. I was a massive Smallville fan and she was my number 1 crush at the time.

That game was amazing, Tekken 3 was my favourite though. Hwoarang was my favourite character as well.
Hwoarang was just broken! Spamming kick was enough to win most fights.

For me SF2 was peak street fighter. The new ones aren't good, while the new MKs are actually excellent.

Street fighter 2 championship edition on the sega mega drive was my game. Amazing fun.

MK was great too especially as a kid trying to get the fatalities in
Brutal stuff

As for this movie, it looks like it will be great fun
The get over here still sounds funny and that might be on me for how I'm used to it

To be fair, my comment about MK being better than SF was looking back at a time when I was a kid. Button bashing was all we knew

I can actually see how Street Fighter was a lot more tactical and combo orientated, so I appreciate the gameplay as a beat em up was probably better.
As a kid though, the character design of MK was way beyond that of SF, and the graphics with a more realistic feel just felt better.

Sub Zero and Scorpion are just all times classics, with of course, Sub Zero being the better of the two

Street Fighter had really good gameplay but a pathetic "story".

Mortal Kombat has a lot of lore and great story but the gameplay was always a bit shit. It encourages spamming because the projectiles don't cancel each other out...

Tekken had a mixture of decent story and excellent gameplay. It was my favourite of the three.

I normally don't watch trailers but just couldn't resist any more. I am very hyped for this! A few thoughts below:

They better use the MK theme from the original at some point!

At first, I found the "GET OVER HERE" a bit weak but upon thinking about it, makes sense as Scorpion is Japanese, not some American dude from Boston.

Spoiler: Kano will betray them

I was sad there's no Jonny Cage but thinking about it more, makes sense. He is a hero character that has sexist views so wouldn't go down well with the woke warriors.

Why the feck did they make Mileena black? There are plenty black characters to choose from already in MK, let her be Asian man! Us Asians never get the love

My boy Kabal is in! Boom!
