Was Lindelofs foul for Tuanzebe’s goal the correct decision?

It was kind of like when you first hit that trampette in gymnastics and realise you've grossly underestimated the spring.

Why is this funny? It was very dangerous, could have ended the life of the other player there. Definite red card.

If the ball was on the ground and the Sociedad player just let it past him (as he is allowed to do) while Lindelöf tries to catch the ball, misses and tackle the Sociedad player there would be no discussion. Of course it would be a foul.

Its no difference just because the ball is in the air.

Goes for the ball, misses, takes the player out : clear foul.

It's one of the clearest fauls ever made, and I really love that so many people disagreed. Absolutely insane. No wonder fans of every team believe the refs are consistently against them.

Was a foul and yellow correct decision, he jumped very high and lost a bit of control up in the clouds but no intent.

Should have been a red card - a knee in his face. It did not happen on purpose, but it was ruthless play
He couldn't complain if he was shown one, however I think the defender stood there was very naive. Ferocious from Lindelof though. I'd be livid if I was on the other side. This is "better" than Jonny vs Drogba.

Just wondering if a keeper came out to catch the ball, was totally focused on the ball, as Lindelof was, and the opponent stayed rooted to the ground and the keeper caught that player on the head with his knee, and then spilled the ball as he came down in a heap, what would the decision be?

Free kick to the keeper. 100% of the time.

How come he cant jump that high when hes defending our goal?
De Gea is slow enough to come of his line as it is, let alone if he has to deal with Lindelof flying through the air like Liu Kang.

Why doesn't he jump that high when defending corners and free kicks?

Ha, I know this, it's a trick question as De Gea would be rooted to his line and in no danger of being in this situation.

Why? It happened while play was going on. If someone gets fouled during play you stop play
Yeah, I agree with the decision. But I’m sure there are fouls every game between players that don’t affect the outcome of a goal/opportunity.

The foul didn’t affect the outcome. That must happen so often and VAR doesn’t delve that deep into it.

Damn, was hoping for more of the insane takes saying it wasn’t a foul from the match thread. Was way more interesting than the actual game.

People found their glasses after the final whistle it seems.

I just game here to see it again.

The way that defender looks at the last second before he gets hit with the knee.
