Can’t argue with James. Deserves to be in the team more than Martial right now. Giroud vs Lindelof has the potential to be a massacre.

Current form and availability, can’t argue too much with that team (other than lindelof over Bailly obvs)

Interesting that Mason gets the start at #9, I like that and it's good that McTominay is back, Lindelof over Bailly is irritating though.

Risky playing Rashford or Greenwood through the centre here. Very little presence and I have a feeling we'll have trouble holding onto the ball.

Maguire and Lindelöf again. Why? What does Bailly have to do to start?

Glad to see McT back. They'll be bombarding us with crosses. Entire defense needs to be on high alert, especially fullbacks at the far post. On the plus side, that back 3 don't have much pace, so our forwards could have some joy.

Lets face it if Lindelof can get bulled badly by that West Brom striker, him against Giroud should be nightmare stuff.
We hear this EVERY single time we play a big or fast CF and, regardless of how well he does, we'll hear it again the next time we face a big or fast CF. It really is tiresome.

Lindelof & Maguire disasterclass incoming :(

Honestly for as much as I praise Ole for the good work he has done if we lose today it's on him for being such a psychopath and continually witnessing those two clowns make mistakes that are single handedly dropping us points week in week out and not doing anything about it, f***** infuriating

Lindelof starts because Ole prefers not having the defence step forward and take the game to the opposition which Bailly is what brings. Sit deep with Maguire and Lindelof and 2 DM’s then launch a counter through Rashford and Bruno. Same set up every big 6 game we’ve played this season. Not successfully.

Why is Bailly not playing in the league? Surely you play your best defenders in the most important games and rest them in the cups not the other way round. Ole’s obsessed with Lindelof, Giroud will have a fecking field day against this guy.

Is there anything more annoying than the way they put up the starting line up
I complained about this a month or so ago. They used to arrange them according to position, then suddenly few months ago they started arranging it according to number ! Why really I don't know.

Martial out, James in...against Chelsea. If that doesn’t sent a rocket up Tony’s arse then nothing ever will.

Great opportunity to create some daylight between 2nd place and the top 4 race today but I fear we'll be let down once again by one of De Gea, Maguire or Lindelof.
This trio have clean sheets against Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Arsenal. I fear more we’ll be let down again by our attack who haven’t been successful against bigger teams.

Really glad martial is dropped. James nowhere near as talented but you can't start for United when you look like you don't really want to

I’m very surprised Tuchel dropped Werner. He hasn’t been great in front of goal but he has played a massive role of most of our goals with numerous assists and winning penalties with his pace.

Alonso has been far better than Chilwell at lwb too. Surprised by our line up but Tuchel so far has been faultless.

Will surely be Rashford and Bruno pushed up highest as the two most likely to nick a goal against the run of play

We all want the win, but what we really need is to maintain the gap between us and Chelsea. A draw will do very nicely.

The reason for those clean sheets and our attack not being good enough is our approach has been too defensive. We have played like we are ok with a draw. Particularly this year.

I never expected Bailly to play today as Ole doesn't seem to trust Bailly in the bigger games or even to play 2 games in a row. Rest of the team is as expected. We definitely have enough there to beat them, but it depends on if we play super negative and nervy again or do we actually have a go.

Plot twist, it is in position order and Wan Bissaka is our new striker superstar

I think Maguire and Lindelof will largely play well today, but that our attackers will let us down. Hate to say it but a 1-0 loss with Giroud getting a headed winner is my prediction.

    Five changes from Thursday.

In DeGea, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Rashford

Out Henderson, Bailly, Telles, Matic, Martial

McTominay starting the only surprise although like others I would have preferred if Bailly, Henderson got starts.

A game where I fear the loss of Pogba, Cavani will be keenly felt.

They're a comedy of errors. In those games we weren't exactly on the front foot.

Any defence in the Premier League can look good when you sit back.

Greenwood won't do anything in this game. Everyone will soon be begging for him to be subbed off.

    Great to see McT back.
Henderson should have been starting, as should Bailly. Cavani and Pogba huges misses here.

Get ready to be camped in our own half for 90 minutes and play a few hit and hope balls on the counter. Then absolutely tear our attackers to shreds when they don’t finish one of the whole two chances we create all game. :wenger:

Weird he thought that was unlikely given the form of James and Martial
Yep, martial looks scared every time he takes to the pitch, while James is playing rather free and is making smarter decisions with his runs basically using his pace and not going into trouble as much.

Quite a good team, and, regardless of the result today, good to see McTominay and Van de Beek back and that James has recovered from his knock.

Cavani and Pogba are still big losses of course, but with a tough run of games coming up it's great to see some of them back

If someone had told me 5 weeks ago james would play in a game like this, I’d have laughed at them but credit where it is due, he’s playing well. I’m excited if Greenwood is our striker I think he’ll do the business today, it’s the defence I’m worried about, Bailly has been our best centre back in my opinion when he’s not injured.
