Very disappointed with the line up, think Lindelof will get bullied by Giroud, and probably give away a pen. De Gea stuck on his line, so our defence will have the jitters again. McTominay I think is probably not 100% fit, so he could be subbed off second half.
Can't see James getting any joy against Chelsea's defence, think we'll struggle to score.
I hope I'm totally wrong, and we win.

Risky playing Rashford or Greenwood through the centre here. Very little presence and I have a feeling we'll have trouble holding onto the ball.
That is always the issue I have when it comes to United playing against good, top sides. When these games come around, somehow our more technical players are usually injured or have played themselves out of form. So we end up starting players that are somewhat more in form but we know for a fact that the players are going to compound the biggest issue this team has which is inability to hold onto the ball.

If I were the manager, I would have probably kept the likes of VdB, Mata, Matic, Martial etc prepared to start in this game even if that meant sacrificing Greenwood, James, McTominay. That is solely because I enjoy control of the game football more than counter attack and sucker punch football .

Having said all this, I am totally going to be behind the team that has been put out there and going to hope that they can attack as well as look assured on the ball.

Not a fan of James but his recent good form and Martial being as bad as he has meant it was no brainer to start him.

Hopefully it’s Greenwood up front rather than Rashford. Would prefer Bailly at CB.

Greenwood won't do anything in this game. Everyone will soon be begging for him to be subbed off.
You sure you're supporting the right club mate? Or are you just a Martial fanboy and butthurt because he's finally been drooped?

Even if Greenwood doesn't do anything, he'd still give his all on the pitch, which is more than I can say for Martial.

Glad to see James & Greenwood starting, big game needed from Greenwood assuming hes starting at #9.

Would have preferred to see Bailly / Henderson in but I think we all knew that was unlikely. Either way I think we've got a decent chance here.

    Excited !

People can complain about Rashford and Greenwood not being the best options currently for that number 9 role for a game like today, but they are still more worthy than Martial who would have been an illogical choice to put faith in when he's been so poor all season.

Yeah I feel the same way. Martial is having poor season but Rashford and Greenwood can't hold the ball which means we won't hold the ball much in the attack.

"Holding up the ball" is honestly kinda overrated massively on Caf. You can't play a player in a shit form just because he "holds the ball well" when this doesn't benefit either him nor his teammates.

Rashford and Greenwood will give their defenders something to worry about. Martial wouldn't.

Bailley should be on instead of Lindelof in my opinion and I think Henderson ahead of De Gea but as we all know that ain’t ever gonna happen, other than that I’m fairly happy, James deserves a start and Martial needs dropping so I’m really hoping Greenwood can notch today, he deserves it.

Big chance on a big stage for Mason to show himself as an out and out number 9. Hope the lad does well. Pleased Ole has finally seen passed the Martial blind spot.

No surprise to see him resort to type with Lindelof and De Gea who he clearly trusts in big games more than Bailly and Henderson. Looks like we’ll sit deep and try and hit them on the counter with pace.

Missing a lot of flair with Pogba and Cavani still out.

This will be very tough today. I’d actually take a draw now.

Martial needs a spell on the bench as his contributions have been next to nothing this season. It's a shame that Ole considers Dan James as his only viable replacement, as this feels like a prime opportunity to blood Diallo.

Nevermind, James has been playing well recently, so it's not all bad.

Worried about us dealing with giroud
He always causes us issues, we need to stop the supply to him

Like the line up, as Martial is off form, james isnt hes been positive in his running in last 3 games. Mctom fit that gives us extra in both boxes. I hoped Cavani would be fit, back 5 wasn't going to change for this game. It's tough at the bridge but we got a fairly decent record down there. Come on lads keep switched on no mistakes, and it could be another win for a team in Red.

Would be bonkers to start Amad in a game as important as this, how's it a prime opportunity?! I've got massive hope for him in the future, but he's a cameo player right now.

I actually fear Chelseas bench more than the players they start with

I’m very surprised Tuchel dropped Werner. He hasn’t been great in front of goal but he has played a massive role of most of our goals with numerous assists and winning penalties with his pace.

Alonso has been far better than Chilwell at lwb too. Surprised by our line up but Tuchel so far has been faultless.
Werner is not going to have space with Utd sitting back and more useful against Liverpool on Thursday. Alonso does not have the speed for a counter. Both changes make sense. Kante to cover Bruno.

That Chelsea team lacks pace. If they decide to play a possession game, it would suit pretty nicely for United counter attack style.

De Gea really needs dropping, Ole likes to talk about certain United standard yet De Gea is nowhere near that standard for some time now.

Lindelof "I'm defender who doesnt defend" is another one, really hope they both prove me wrong.

One mans bonkers is another man's prime opportunity. Albert Einstein said that. Ya.

I'm just desperate to see Diallo play a game is all. I have a really good feeling about him.

We’re still forced into selecting some reasonably mediocre players, if we’re honest.

This squad still needs some serious investment, in spite of the many good players we have.

This team lacks pace. Ziyech does not offer the pace or the pressure provided by Werner, so no, it doesn’t make sense.

Not entirely confident after seeing the lineup, it's not a far cry away from some of the awful teams we were fielding pre-Bruno when we could barely win a game last season. Will take any type of win here to be honest.

 same mate, I just think he's got a way to go yet, could see him coming off the bench and netting a quick hat trick late on though, so it's not all bad news.

If we have a defensive feck up today, I will seriously lose my shit. Can't see past Giroud getting a goal today, regardless of the result.

We hear this EVERY single time we play a big or fast CF and, regardless of how well he does, we'll hear it again the next time we face a big or fast CF. It really is tiresome.
