Sky are right in what they say, all this chat about the penalty is a distraction from the performance.

Chelsea is the most in-form team behind City. You can always do better, but I personally think it was an OK performance. A pretty decent result under the circumstances.

Need Pogba back ASAP to give us that bit of quality when Bruno is not on his game.

Since that Spurs result we've played like a scared team against the top 6. Four 0-0 draws in a row is fecking shocking.
He's gone a bit LvG without the possession. The Leicester game when we were starting to look good, then he went all cautious. The sending off in the Spurs game did not help there. He just seems intent on us being a counter attacking side. To do that you cannot be wasteful with your possession. We are. Just wish Pogba was back and we had Cavani as an option.

I think Pogba’s absence is being felt this past couple of weeks.

Both teams somewhat cancelled each other out. A lot of hard work from the players today, thought Fred was great, Scott still looks injured to me. Pen decision is a big disappointment, refs have had an all round poor week.

I thought we were promised something different when Jose went. Ole is basically utilising the same tactics and won't even take risks with a 4-0 lead against an average team. It's cowardly and not what we're about.
Seriously. This forum. If you can't tell the difference between Mourinho United and this, then it's really hard to know where to even begin. When did you see a Mourinho team carry out a high press like that?

"Dogshit". "Useless". "Shameful". What rubbish. These are two very good teams counterpressing the hell out of each other. Not exactly a classic match, but what would you expect? Tuchel's Chelsea basically don't concede goals, and have completely controlled every game they've played since he arrived. They didn't control this. We were lacking in precision and killer instinct in the final third and were on occasion a bit untidy in the defence (Maguire didn't have a great evening, and Wan-Bissaka's positioning issues are really beginning to become a worry), but all in all this was a spirited and good performance.

How else could we have played? We could have dropped deep and ceded the initiative, but if we had Chelsea would have dominated this game like they've dominated every other. That would have been Jose football. It's also what Atletico tried earlier this week. The returns weren't happy.

Very true, at home too. We know we are lacking that edge in these games, that is the step we need to take, made all the harder without the experience and quality of Pogba and Cavani.

Tuchel almost got the same treatment his PSG team did against us, if only McT had a little quality at the end.

Clearly not the most thrilling game in football history, but I'll take a point at the Bridge.

also think it was an ok performance - not sharp enough but ok. and if the pen is given the game opens up for us, so could have been very different game

Four 'big' games left in the season, at the business end of things it would be great to see us get some players back and take more than 4 points.

One day, many years from now, we may score from open play against one of other “top 6”

We are taking a leaf from Klopps book. He deflected attention from Liverpool losing against S'ton with "they get more penalties then me". Nobody talked about that game, everybody was on about our penalties.

I wish someone had left one in on Ruediger, horrible player and would have been well worth a booking.

That was bizarre.

Utd getting criticised for being negative, Chelsea were the home side and needed the 3 points much more than we did and yet nothing was said about them

Ole is dedicating this draw to Ed and Joel Glazer. No point risking top 4 so let’s take the point and be rewarded with a whopping £70 million transfer budget in the summer.

Lack of quality again in the final third again. Should have been a penalty and we defended well enough to come away with all the points after the poor decision by the ref, not even VARs fault.
Rashford a concern he is either knackered or he has an attitude issue.
He is simply way off the pace and his lack of effort is an issue.
Bruno again looks like he is running on empty and is clearly tired.
Bruno scoring goals has been masking over his overall contribution attacking wise for a good number of weeks
Why give him 45mins on Thursday?
I can imagine Bruno is refusing to miss games and is saying he's fine and Ole is succumbing to his wishes because he is to scared off upsetting him.
If that was any other more experienced manager this situation would not be happening.

Good result based on the injuries and the lack of creativity available. Decent first-half performance. Surprised how much we pressed in the first half. AWB and Shaw really pushing up on them and barely let them have a chance. So why in the second half did we totally change it? Everyone behind the ball, fullbacks kept back, Fred and McTominay right in front of their center backs. Surely, that was a message from Ole. And if it was, that's cowardly and shocking. The other day he said the United Way was counterattacking football. That's worrying. Yes, we were lightning fast on the counter and were set up that way against teams like Barca and Arsenal but we also dominated teams through possession and relentless attacking. This is not Manchester United for me.

I thought Utd played alright. A couple of decent final passes on the counter away from winning that game. On another day they would have come off.

Performance of the referee was shocking. Seems decisions have to be far more blatant for Utd to actually get awarded anything lately.

We won’t win any of them. LDDD. We may finally nick a goal or two though.

Yet when we perform well and get penalties to win, all the chat is about the penalties and not about our perfomance.

TV punditry is so full of crap.

Yeah contrast that to Tuchel taking off Hudson-Odoi after he was a substitute in the second half. Incredible difference. Bruno could've got injured. What then? Same with Rashford who's knackered. You can't just give in to players cos they want to play every game. You need to be strong and do what's best for the team. And if you know everyone is tired why do you never substitute anyone?

If anything Chelsea were playing more for a draw than us with their cautious lineup and subs. Tuchel has made them solid at the expense of creativity and it showed again today.
Our 0-0s against top sides are mainly down to:
1. Top teams set up more defensively against us (so we are not scoring, but neither are they)
2. Our midfield lacks the required quality to control or win big games

Cake or Death?
Great intensity in the first half, which faded somewhat in the second. Needed fresh legs sooner (obviously). Oles reluctance to sub soonernis still a conundrum.

I wanted them to win and think they could have won, but the midfield he had to put out really didn't help. Fred and Scott work hard, but that is all they are. We miss Pogba badly, Bruno misses having Pobga there. We didn't have Cavani, Martial is completely out of form. We therefore had a kid leading the line. The really didn't cause us that much trouble and we caused them about the same. If we had got that penalty we might have all been celebrating a great three points, instead of a good one point.

Not the worse 0-0 I have watched. Thought we could have edged that game though. We made some quality chances and maybe not having Cavani in the box is why we weren't able to score.

However, Stamford Bridge is never really a place I expect a result. It's still a game I dread so the 0-0 isn't bad in that respect.
