Give me a week to catch up bud @ha_rooney
 just trying to make sense of it all & see how it could fit in to everything!

There’s so much they’ve still got to get through in the last episode & then we go to the Falcon & Winter Soldier series 2 weeks after. Going to get tricky to keep up with all the Marvel stuff & how it connects together, but I can’t wait for more

Absolutely fantastic episode. Beautiful journey to follow. Hopefully the finale delivers after such strong build up.

Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and Kathryn Hahn have all given award winning performances in this series. And a range of acting as well.

This series has so far completly paid off the scope and effort they have put into crafting this. The development in this one series of so many MCU characters is amazing.

One more episode left. I know alot of people are expecting a huge new big bad. But, at this point I would say the show is successful even with what we have been shown.
Elizabeth Olsen performance in this has been fantastic. She has really become Wanda to the core.

I'm still never going to think it needed three episodes though  I'd still fully recommend new people coming to the series to skip them and watch recaps instead.
Yeah agree, though I started enjoying it from episode 3 so I'll say the first 2 episodes were the hard skip. The recap at the start of episode 3 does the job pretty well imo.

I feel like it wouldn't have been a problem if there wasn't a week break between the first 2 episodes and the 3rd one, then another week till the 4th episode which really kick started the main plot, even though as I said I enjoyed the 3rd episode. Should have released the 3rd episode alongside the first and second ones immediately in the first week then progressed on weekly from there like normal.

Overall, I think it delivered well. It was worth it at the end of the day. I will give this a solid 8/10. Hopefully the finale closes it up well.

I'm surprised so many people didn't take to the first three episodes. Thought it was fresh and funny and eerie and mysterious. If you couldn't sense where it was headed, you weren't paying attention. I actually felt the fourth 'explainer' episode came a bit too early because of the intrigue of the mystery. Been a fantastic series overall, really reinvigorating for the MCU.

Noone couldn't sense where it was going. It was just boring and unfunny.

I am surprised people have enjoyed the series. I thought the general caf feeling was hatred towards the MCU. I would have watched it but I am not willing to pay Disney plus for that privilege.

Came in to ask about the connection between Hayward and Fury. Shouldn't Shield be the place, with Fury as Director? Or was that scam (Fury framed/killed in Winter Soldier) a change in the MCU i missed? @Sylar help.
I think shield no longer exist? The show being part of it and then going a different direction pretty much in the last season was annoying in a way.

But I agree with pretty much what @ha_rooney said. Real fury us not on earth (maybe due to Tony's death and trying to establish something away from earth so that enemies can be defeated before they come to the planet?)

Yessss

Also is it me, or does it seem like we still have 2 episodes left

Am I reading this wrong?

No, it's a nine episode series. That tweet is very confusingly worded. There's only the finale left now.

I have no connection to everything Marvel and i'm not even interested, yet somehow this show is everywhere and i feel like i'm missing out. Any advice? Is it watchable with zero knowledge of the MCU? (I did see Iron Man, eons ago...)

I would say no. You might get some enjoyment but without the context of the wider story it's connected to, you'll get a watered-down experience and would probably be better off watching another show.

Agreed is very heavily tied to both previous MCU lore. And comics lore which can be confusing to a casual MCU only fan. It actually is what makes it one of the most unique properties. But, I can understand how it won't be as exciting maybe, or will leave some viewers confused.

Is some of the best acting we have seen in any MCU project.

Yeah I've been thinking it's 9 too.
Every where points to 9

If you haven't seen infinity war and endgame I'd say no (although those two movies are great and worth watching)
Probably avengers age of Ultron for the link to this show too

Agree with this is what you would need at least to understand it. I would add that Wandavision really is better the more Marvel you have seen, from the little Easter Eggs in the fake commercials, the Captain Marvel links, Ant-man 2 links etc etc. If they do go down the multi-verse route then maybe Dr Strange will need to be watched as well. More you’ve watched, the more you will enjoy it.

The show has improved immeasurably since the first 3 episodes. It just goes to prove how correct everyone was to criticise the opening of the season.

The series had so much more potential than that, and it's only now that it's being realised. I don't think anybody believes the sitcom episodes were the peak of Wandavision.

Not everyone did criticise the opening episodes, did they? I also don't remember anyone arguing they weren't going to get better from there.

I enjoyed them, but I agree it was frustrating to have to wait for three weeks to get into the wider story. No more so than not being able to binge the whole thing though.

They said the thing!

Although having not read the comics and not being a huge MCU fan (I've seen most of the movies once) I do feel like some of it has been lot on me but it's still been a fun ride. I quite like the episodic format instead of the 3 hour movie format too.

Well, the remainder of the episodes needed the first three episodes. If they just started from episode 4, then it wouldnt be the same impact.
Also it could be argued that the first three episodes could have been done in 2 episodes or 1, but each of the episodes were less than 30 minutes.
They could have released the first three together also and had it as one big episode but its all about preferences.

I have enjoyed it the way theyve done it. So it doesnt prove anybody correct regarding anything. What mis the best way to check this is metrics. If there was a drop from week 1 to week 2 in viewing, then a lift into week 3 (ep 4) then yes, you are indeed right to say it proves people criticising correct. Otherwise its just your opinion that youre stating as fact.

I still think the best thing would have been to move between genres/eras within an episode and get that rolling early on. They could have done it at the end of episode one, for example. Segue into the next era then cut to credits.

Not sure how you came to this conclusion. Not everyone criticized the opening of the show, and no one thought it was staying as a sitcom regardless. Who thinks the sitcom episodes is "peak wandavision?" They're an important of the show regardless.

This makes no sense.

Doubling down on on premature criticism doesn't justify yours and others impatience.

The shows feels (to me) more like a carefully designed ad campaign for the MCU and it's future movies than a show in it's own right. It hasn't been terrible but it seems (again to me), that people are excusing a lot of rather dull and unremarkable content due to the online frenzy that's been whipped up.

Whilst this series plays into the bigger MCU/multiverse arc for Phase 4/5, I think as a stand-alone series it’s been very enjoyable and I’ve not considered it to be boring or unfunny. I think they’ve done a good job in first setting up the “perfect world” she created to cope with her grief (first few episodes) which gradually cracked when SWORD started poking around & Vision was getting suspicious (middle episodes) to now where Agatha’s been revealed, Vision knows everything, Hayward/SWORD intentions are revealed and Wanda’s come to the realisation she was not in total control of everything. The finale should be brilliant. They’ve got to cover the multiverse element that leads into Doctor Strange’s movie and the showdown between the 3 factions (Wanda, Agatha & SWORD). I’m expecting it to end on some sort of cliffhanger as it leads into the movie, but unless they totally feck it up, IMO the series has been very enjoyable & one of the better comic book/superhero series I’ve seen.

Also, I think the pacing of it has been very good and the last episode really emphasised Wanda’s pain and how much grief she’s experienced her whole life. It wasn’t just about her losing Vision in IW, it was also the culmination of losing everything she loved before that & then going over the edge when she found out Vision had planned a future for them to live like a normal couple - which is what they showed in episodes 1-3.

Think it's something marvel isn't give much credit for, how their characters deal with the aftermath of events. Seen it with Tony Starks PTSD of New York, Thors completely changed by endgame, now seeing it with Wanda.

9 episodes in a series seems a weird number.

We have loved it in my house so far, making sure we all sit down as a family on Friday evenings to watch. Thought episode 8 was the weakest but had figured out most of the reveals as we went along so maybe thats why.

Just hope the finale is a good enough pay off to the excellent build up.

So looking like the mystery actor that Paul Bettanny has wanted to work with all his life, is himself. Don't think we're going to be getting another mega cameo.

As someone who doesn't really care all that much about Marvel other than casually watching some of the movies I enjoyed the first 5-6 episodes much more than the last two. A lot of what's going on now is over my head. I did enjoy the Agatha All Along reveal though.

Likewise. It's just like watching one of the movies now, which is a bit 'meh' to me.

Anyway i've enjoyed it enough.

I'd be slightly disappointed if that's the case. They've teased something that is equivalent to the cameo at the end ofThe Mandalorian season 2, and as cool as the mid-credit scene was in the last episode, I’m expecting something bigger in the finale, especially if they were being serious of it matching the end of Mando.

I think it’ll be Doctor Strange appearing in the mid-credit scene.

Watched the first 2 EPs, my guess:
They're going all in on Wanda, and this is kind of like a House of M sorta deal, in that she's completely altered reality, atleast her own. Probably due to PTSD (when you think about it, shes had a pretty tough ride in the MCU).

All scenes set inside The Hex leave me bored. I just slow-forward them. Obviously it’s building. But knowing it’s not real, I can’t begin to invest anything in it at all. Episode after episode waiting for meaningful progression.

Perhaps it gets more grunty from Episode 7. Suspect it’s just not for me.
