Makes a lot of sense and is scary but maybe less scary than the actual Trump type that is actually competent. Maybe more scary in terms of the direction that humanity seems to be taking. Seems that 50% are striving to become smarter and progress while the other don't even want to stay the same but rather want to regress completely.

We had an anti-mask/lockdown protest in Dublin a couple of days ago and a few of my old classmates were prominent in it and without trying to be a dickhead I know first hand that they barely know how to dress themselves. I wonder what the end game is, are they more dangerous because they have no context of the consequences and seem unable to plan a real revolt or are they a joke because they lack the intelligent leader? I think the first one but it would be stupid to ignore the growing influence in many nations.
If there is a Trump with brains so to speak I could see a huge chance of a dictatorship.

Basically if Trump stole the 2020 election then what would have stopped him from staying in after 2024.

100% agree with this. History is always capable of repeating itself.

Any chance the electoral college is axed during the Biden presidency?

If I were a democrat that would be my primary concern right now. Once the electoral college is gone, the GOP will probably never win an election again with demographics also working against them or am I wrong?

Shortly after the recent election, even some Republicans called for it. As a democrat I would've jumped that train in no time. It would maybe need to be done smartly so that Republican voters won't show reactance to it but if successful it would be the KO for the Republicans as they currently exist.

Americans identified with Trumps incoherent rambling and lack of eloquence.
If he was polite, didn't talk absolute bollocks and knew how to act in public that "one of us" factor would be gone.

Conservatives were calling for it before 2016, after Obama won in 2012 and when fearing Hillary would win because "California and New York."

Why not? Are the hurdles too big? Because as it occurs to me it really wpuld be a no brainer for democrats. They need to equal the playing field regarding gerry mandering, electoral votes, etc.

Interesting. Isn't that sewing the branch on which they sit? I recently read that the GOP won only one popular vote in the last 32 years or so.

Abolishing the actual college requires amending the constitution. If you don't know why that is impossible in the current status quo, I'd suggest you read up on the US civics.

There have been other proposals for effectively eliminating the EC, namely states awarding their EC votes to the winner of the US popular vote, and if the swing states start doing that it would be enough. However, chances for that are only slightly higher than full constitutional amendment, but still comfortably near zero.

We're not talking about the brightest collective bunch. It is a garbage system though. I argued such in 2016 when Georgia went to Trump after I cast my vote for Clinton. Both sides and the media harp on "your vote matters" and "every eligible citizen should vote, it's your right and duty as an American". But the reality is my vote only matters if the candidate I selected wins that particular state. It should be a national election across the board, i.e. popular vote. GOP will never agree to this as they know the popular vote will favor the DNC candidate unless they're willing to change ala Dems in the 40s to 60s. I also think you'd have Dems citing tradition and blah blah Constitution blah blah.

God Wrecked America
--Watching the collective soul-selling of my fellow Christians here in America over the past five years has been something that has grieved me more than I can measure or accurately describe. It’s been particularly disheartening to watch ancient religious history repeating, and worse—to realize that nearly every disfiguring ugliness here in America: from the violent parade of white nationalism to the defiant anti-mask pandemic-deniers to the propagators of an abject election fraud lie to the suppressors of the voices and votes of people of color—is coming from professed Christians.--
-- As they both literally and figuratively pledge their undying adoration to some golden-veneered, bastardized counterfeit idol of their whiteness, I’m left to wonder what I’m to do now: --

Wait. Someone think they can just propose to change the ammendment to suit DNC when they with all their majority cant even agree on a stimulus paycheck?

I dont even think this would pass DNC internal voting let alone including GOP

The second proposal is up to individual state legislatures, not DNC. But yeah, it is of course unlikely.

States representing 196 electoral votes have already agreed to elect the popular vote winner, though the agreement doesn't go into effect until they have 50%+1 of the electoral votes (at which point the rest are irrelevant). Which, obviously, might not ever happen. But it's not impossible, and it might completely circumvent Congress.
