I don't see Ole doing it but using Leeds interest in James and we could probably get a good deal in swapping a squad player and getting a first teamer with a small outlay.

Would be a decent signing. Can play 3 positions behind the striker. Good alternative for Sancho.

We have an interesting bargaining tool in the shape of Lingard too. Seems the type of player Bielsa would love

Lingard would demolish Leeds’ wage bill.

I doubt he’d also want to go there given how much he seems to enjoy the West Ham dressing room / living in London.

Dan James would be a much better bargaining tool to use.

If we don't sign Sancho again then Greenwood needs to play a lot more than he has this season next
We didn't intentionally start out the season deciding not to play Greenwood a lot. That was purely down to the personal problems he had with England and his friend committing suicide. He's becoming more mentally right since the start of the year and he's started getting more game time as a result.

Not so sure tbh, we will likely get people off the books to have enough for a low net spend, but able to bring in some good players.
However much the pandemic has effected us it’s affecting all except City and PSG worse. We can pick players up from smaller teams for a lot less than they’d have cost a year ago.

Also:
  • Both Rüdiger and Azpilicueta's contracts expire in 2022.
  • Chelsea were looking at both Alaba and Konaté for the centre back role.
  • AC Milan will hold talks with Chelsea to sign Tomori permanently for 25 million Pounds.

Key quotes:
I think every player will have a price in football, whoever you name, even Lionel Messi has a price. At the moment, we have had no contact for Declan and I am not in a hurry to lose him as you can imagine.

I keep saying and I hope people know that when I say something I mean it, we’ve not had an offer for Declan Rice and I hope we don’t get one. And you’ve got an idea now of where we’d need to be if it was even going to be considered, certainly by me. So I’m looking forward to keeping Declan, I look forward to keeping all the boys and building a young team. If we could finish in Europe, in some sort of European position, I think it would be progress. And that would be progress for Declan Rice as well because he’s been at West Ham while they’ve been bobbing round the bottom, so this is new for Declan as well.

Would say CB & RW are the most important positions we need to address this summer, however it does feel like Eddy could break down at any moment so maybe need to consider a CF too and may explain the rumours of Boca's interest

The primary reason for that interest is because we've yet to renew Cavani's contract. With time running out, the Argentinean media have gone all in on linking Cavani to Boca. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up similar to how we renewed Ibra's contract. Ideally, we should have exercised our option sooner if we were actually committed, but I think we're waiting to see if we can afford a new striker or not.

If we want to be challenging next season as Ole expects, we need a better calibre of player. One month of good form in a full season isn't good enough either, we need a player who's able to win a game for us when 'Plan A' hasn't worked out.
It’s a squad game. James offers something different and has shown his qualities as a defensive winger. You need players with a balance of quality, hard work, the right attitude, and a contentment to be a rotational player, to be successful. James ticks all those boxes. All our successful squads in the past have had them. We should be looking for a player to improve our starting XI, and that doesn’t affect James’ role at the club. He can play either side, always puts a shift in for the team, has pace to burn, and has more quality than people give him credit for. Definitely has a role to play here.

One of the most promising young defenders is moving out to Serie A.

Anel Ahmedhodzic:
My move to Atalanta is not yet official. There are two clubs in Italy that have looked for me, but with the Nerazzurri the negotiations are now in an advanced stage. Many clubs followed me and wanted me already in January. The Rossoneri asked for information about me, as a child I looked at Maldini who is one of the idols that inspire me.

Pjanic and Dzeko (his teammates in the national team) told me about Serie A, but above all my friend Kulusevski. Atalanta is the ideal place for a young player who wants to grow, I can't wait to test myself. My favorite Nerazzurri? Josip Ilicic.
AC Milan was the other club that was after him.
